This is a really quality tutorial for a quite complicated scratch. The way its presented and broken down is great. This is way easier to follow than Qbert's tutorials. He just gets too crazy too quickly.
Hey dj angelo, i love your videos, your the man. have you gotten into the DMC Championships? you definitely deserve to get in there. much love (no homo)
Hey Angelo, just a question! There is no tutorial for a 3 click flare orbit, but to do it, should I do 2 stabs, instead of 1 stab, like the 2 click? Hope you understood what I was tryin to say!
OM-FckN-G! Grrrr....Damn my 2-clicks don't sound anything like yours!! Your cutz are super-dupa CLEAN!!! AHHHHHRRRRRRRrrrrrrr......I've die trying to make my's sound like YOURS! Thanks for the mixes & tutorials homie!
The fact that you can demonstrate the scratch slow and fast without messing up shows you really got that shit down. I'll be honest, I can only do some scratches fast and other only slow. I need to break it all down!
big up djangelouk holding it down uk style with all those banging imports we get from you here in the states
also mad props for helping basics dj's take their skills to the next level with a detailed and high quality preview of the actual cuts
my question to the cut god is if i cut regular and do most of my 1 click flares and crabs with my right hand on the fader and my left on the record, i noticed that you are holding the fader with the left, and cutting with the right should i do that too?
Great, well talked through tutorial. I especially liked how you went thorugh the scratch in it's entireity in a slow fashion so I could really see what was going on. Also, you aren't teaching it Hamster style - very helpful to me. Thanks again.
Hi Angelo .. I'm from Europe .. I want to buy equipment.. and I dont have a lot of money for this stuff. Could I buy only one gramophone and mixer and still to do the scratching..And one more thing.. Where do you play the beat..?? Tnx
@ivanppa1 You only need 1 table to scratch. As you can see, Angelo is only using 1 table The other table is really there for the music, unless you wanna start mixing and juggling. If you buy 1 turntable and have an existing cd player or mp3 playing to suppl y the music, then you should be fine
this tutorial is awesome! Most people explain it as two clicks and thats it... but you break down whats happening during each click and that makes all the difference on how it sounds. Thank you for all your efforts into this!
Thanks DJ Angelo, I have been following the tutorials for about the past year and they're the best, I've improved so much. If you get a tick could you maybe give me some tips about how to get a faster crossfader hand, Ive read many things... start slow, it's not about power , be delicate etc. when I watch you alot of your speed seems to come from your technique, could you maybe shed some light on your journey there? Keep up the amazing work!!!
Bro your awesome at teaching this stuff Qberts good but he for more advance people i'm just a learner been scratching for a month you break it down well, now i can see and hear the sounds to make and your not in hampster style i've only got cdj so it probably not the same but can only use what i have keep up the good work
@DJAngeloUK ive seen many scratch tutorials online... and they were either to short or too confusing. for example, qbert's diy 1 dvd. he explains the scratch in 10 seconds, and shows the scratch hamster style as if that isnt confusing already. this by far, is the most comprehensive.
Man yor skillz are clear & sharp.. You & D-styles are sweet as fucc... Y'all would kill Qbert, don't get me wrong he's sweet.. But he's startin 2 get sloppy a lil wit his scratches... I've learned alot from you, thanks man... aka Blaze
@superxoan HEY THERE DJ ANGELO.......I JUST BOUGHT MY EQUIPMENT ITS WAS A BIT EXPENSIVE AND WELL I HAVE ONE VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION. ...........if i put my turn tables on their side instead of facing flat for long periods of time due to storage will they loose their center point.........???email me at dj-beats@hotmail.com thankz..........TURNTABLES ARE THE TECHNICS 1210 M5G (THE GRAND MASTER OF TURN TABLES)

to be honest - there is no such thing as Cheap Dj Gear- Frankly buying cheap stuff will cost you more in the end - mate - so rather scrape bux together- go for Techs- and a Vestax mixer- and ur sorted- SL 1200's or 1210's
Hey DJ Angelo.. I have a question.. I've watched this series of videos, and they're perfect for learning to scratch.. Im learning beat juggling at the moment, and want to put the 2 together. In the first video, u mentioned that a good mixer to use is the technics one ure using. I'm thinking of buying a mixer as i'm currently using the pioneeer DJM-600, and this is usless for scratching. Anything u would recommend now? as that was a long time ago. Also, do the X-faders ware out fast? Thanks.
The Technics SH EX1200 is still a good scratch mixer today and you might be able to pick one up cheap if you look around. I found mine on Ebay and have been using it for years without needing to replace the crossfader. There's so many new mixers being produced these days and choosing one is always a personal preference so it's best to try them out if you can at DJ stores before you buy...
