  • This is a really quality tutorial for a quite complicated scratch. The way its presented and broken down is great. This is way easier to follow than Qbert's tutorials. He just gets too crazy too quickly.

  • maddddddddd

  • how to get the "AHHHHHHHH" sound??

Is that like a special track??

  • @FarRange1994

fab 5 freddy "change the beat" is the song that sound comes from

  • @FarRange1994 buy any skratch record! it'll be on there. check out the Super Seal records from Qbert

  • Thanks for the tutorial, I remember when I got the fast two click flare in a consistent pattern. Feels good man.

  • Nice explanation ;-)

  • Hey dj angelo, i love your videos, your the man. have you gotten into the DMC Championships? you definitely deserve to get in there. much love (no homo)

    DJ Flory

  • thx allot!!!helped me allllllllllot!!!

  • Hey Angelo, just a question! There is no tutorial for a 3 click flare orbit, but to do it, should I do 2 stabs, instead of 1 stab, like the 2 click? Hope you understood what I was tryin to say!

  • very nicely done brutha.....i like your style of coaching u explained well so that the cats out here can understand you! keep it bro. peace

  • yo , what vinyl are you scratching in this video ???????? love the videos , alot of help :)

  • @DJangeloUK:what beat were you dropping that on innthe end? A dubstep beat or just somethin you threw together in the studio

Btw these tutorials are VERY helpful. This makes me wonna get on a set of tables reeaaally bad.

  • the terrorist... who made this track and on what label? please thank you..

  • Best scratch tuts on YouTube.

  • brilliant demo. shame i missed bpm. peace

  • Hey Angelo, when you do this fast, are you twiddling? it looks like it.

  • The fact that you can demonstrate the scratch slow and fast without messing up shows you really got that shit down. I'll be honest, I can only do some scratches fast and other only slow. I need to break it all down!

  • i think i have a new favorite DJ :)

  • Dude brilliant work love these lessosn ='< if only i had turntables

  • big up djangelouk holding it down uk style with all those banging imports we get from you here in the states

also mad props for helping basics dj's take their skills to the next level with a detailed and high quality preview of the actual cuts

my question to the cut god is if i cut regular and do most of my 1 click flares and crabs with my right hand on the fader and my left on the record, i noticed that you are holding the fader with the left, and cutting with the right should i do that too?

  • hy !!!!! gr8 moviesssss !

butttttt the 2 click flare is not moving by the thug ?????

in this video its look like the 2nd movment with the crossfader its like transformer///

    ?????

  • AWESOME BRO

  • DAMN THIS DUDE IS NASTY WIT IT HE MAKES THAT SHIT LOOK SO EASY

  • u r the best dj teacher ever!!

  • Great, well talked through tutorial. I especially liked how you went thorugh the scratch in it's entireity in a slow fashion so I could really see what was going on. Also, you aren't teaching it Hamster style - very helpful to me. Thanks again.

  • nice vid :D

  • BEST TUTORIALS FOR SCRATCHING! PERIOD!!!

  • I am the terrorist T-E-R-R-O-R the terrorist hehe^^

  • Hi Angelo .. I'm from Europe .. I want to buy equipment.. and I dont have a lot of money for this stuff. Could I buy only one gramophone and mixer and still to do the scratching..And one more thing.. Where do you play the beat..?? Tnx

  • @ivanppa1 You only need 1 table to scratch. As you can see, Angelo is only using 1 table The other table is really there for the music, unless you wanna start mixing and juggling. If you buy 1 turntable and have an existing cd player or mp3 playing to suppl y the music, then you should be fine

  • Hey how do you execute those flares from 8:47 to 8:50. I have been trying for years now and still cant get them. Tutorial please

  • ive been struggling with 2 clicks for months, after this video i got it in like 5 minutes thanks!!!

  • that technique seems crazy

  • DAJE ANGIOLETTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

  • basically dudes with sausage fingers have an advantage over cats who have long stem asparagus fingers... cus i can't do this technique for squash!

  • do you usually use a long (sounding) sample for this technique or not necessarily?

  • what is tha mixer you have??

how much do is it go for?

  • Mad props.. Have been attempting (and failing) with these for ages but this video is the reason for me now getting them down.. Thanks

  • I like this guy's videos man. Very well explained man. No disrespect to Q-Bert 's videos but they kinda hard to learn.

  • this tutorial is awesome! Most people explain it as two clicks and thats it... but you break down whats happening during each click and that makes all the difference on how it sounds. Thank you for all your efforts into this!

  • thank you dj'angelo finally i fully understand that technique, thanks to dj's like you....=) mabuhay ka...=) 10 stars...=)

  • Very good tutorial!!

  • i notice you use the same sound effect for transforming and flaring. do any other sounds work well or is this the best one to use?

  • Is there anywhere I can download the loop from?

  • Thanks DJ Angelo, I have been following the tutorials for about the past year and they're the best, I've improved so much. If you get a tick could you maybe give me some tips about how to get a faster crossfader hand, Ive read many things... start slow, it's not about power , be delicate etc. when I watch you alot of your speed seems to come from your technique, could you maybe shed some light on your journey there? Keep up the amazing work!!!

  • when he's cutting at the end, is he doing the exercises he did examples of?

  • practice practice practice.. we'll all get this shit one day!! hehehe..

  • i thought i'd never get it but all in all it took me 6 months then again i didnt practice everyday

  • P.S. Really great lesson!

  • How long you have to learn it to the perfection ? I try, try and it doesn't work yet :(

  • the song is the terrorist by dj vadim and motion man

  • Thanks Angelo. Because f your video, I got the 2 click down.

  • whats the album he's scratching on?

  • Dj Q-Bert "Super Seal"

  • where do i get a flare to do that

  • what`s the song playing at the start of the video?

  • DJAngelo

dont know if my last comment went up as i cant see it listed but just incase. yeh well cool the tutorial very well explianed.

just want to know that name of the vinyl you used to scratch with and is it still on sale??

  • @vinylseducer ....Hes using Super Seal from Thudrumble

  • DJ Q-Bert's Super Seal

  • Bro your awesome at teaching this stuff Qberts good but he for more advance people i'm just a learner been scratching for a month you break it down well, now i can see and hear the sounds to make and your not in hampster style i've only got cdj so it probably not the same but can only use what i have keep up the good work

    Chee

  • i've always struggled with the 2 click orbit but your tutorail has finally broken it down enough to understand and get the hang of. LEGEND cheers!

  • are you scratching with a blank vinyl?

  • ur a beast great turtorial

  • What,s tne name of DJ Vadim´s track?

  • The Terrorist

  • @DJAngeloUK ive seen many scratch tutorials online... and they were either to short or too confusing. for example, qbert's diy 1 dvd. he explains the scratch in 10 seconds, and shows the scratch hamster style as if that isnt confusing already. this by far, is the most comprehensive.

  • Man yor skillz are clear & sharp.. You & D-styles are sweet as fucc... Y'all would kill Qbert, don't get me wrong he's sweet.. But he's startin 2 get sloppy a lil wit his scratches... I've learned alot from you, thanks man... aka Blaze

  • @DJAngeloUK Love it... T E RR O R IST !!!!

  • @DJAngeloUK

"Cos I am the TERRORIST! Terrorist! Terrorist! Terrorist! The T-E-R-R-O-R-IST. The Terrorist, terrorist, terrorist, terrorist - I'm after everybody!"

Amazing track...the mix on Solid Steel Presents: DJ Food is epic!! =D

  • @superxoan HEY THERE DJ ANGELO.......I JUST BOUGHT MY EQUIPMENT ITS WAS A BIT EXPENSIVE AND WELL I HAVE ONE VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION. ...........if i put my turn tables on their side instead of facing flat for long periods of time due to storage will they loose their center point.........???email me at dj-beats@hotmail.com thankz..........TURNTABLES ARE THE TECHNICS 1210 M5G (THE GRAND MASTER OF TURN TABLES)

  • Great.. U are real good....

  • subbed bro love watchin stuff like this dont even use decks my bro's got 12 10's he uses for mixing tho

  • I love DJ Vadim (The music he scratches to at the end)

  • Hey there Angelo, a very clean and simple tutorial, well edited video - and an even doper intro.

Well done on a great upload (and even more so for spending the time on editing it to such perfection)

  • any advice for a borther using CDJ-800... I just feel I'll never learn to scratch that way

  • Get turntables/serato? :)

  • Nice one mate! Can you recommend good anti skate and arm height settings for scrathing on 1210s m2 ? Cheers

  • you can find it in tutorila number 1 or 2

  • anti skate always zero with scratching, arm height depends on cartridge you use...

  • Comment removed

  • Im not a hiphop DJ more into house but your videos are really well presented I like em.

  • Always enjoyed listening to scratching, loved that video..but it never occurred to be that I could maybe give it a go till now.

So if I can scrape some money together. ..Any recommendations for some equipment that would be good for scratching for me to have a look at? like something for a beginner if anything like that exists?.

    cheers man.

  • to be honest - there is no such thing as Cheap Dj Gear- Frankly buying cheap stuff will cost you more in the end - mate - so rather scrape bux together- go for Techs- and a Vestax mixer- and ur sorted- SL 1200's or 1210's

  • if your battlin go for ttx1s

  • what was the music used introduced at 7.50??

  • i have no interest in scratching but i still enjoyed the video

  • That's a great compliment, thank you...

  • i am the terrorist!

    dj vadim :)

  • Liking it mate...

  • Hey DJ Angelo.. I have a question.. I've watched this series of videos, and they're perfect for learning to scratch.. Im learning beat juggling at the moment, and want to put the 2 together. In the first video, u mentioned that a good mixer to use is the technics one ure using. I'm thinking of buying a mixer as i'm currently using the pioneeer DJM-600, and this is usless for scratching. Anything u would recommend now? as that was a long time ago. Also, do the X-faders ware out fast? Thanks.

  • The Technics SH EX1200 is still a good scratch mixer today and you might be able to pick one up cheap if you look around. I found mine on Ebay and have been using it for years without needing to replace the crossfader. There's so many new mixers being produced these days and choosing one is always a personal preference so it's best to try them out if you can at DJ stores before you buy...

  • Many thanks.. I will do that.. Keep the vids coming..

  • :P nice

  • That was wikka wikka wah wah wik wah wikked

  • Only a master can teach..Thats why :)

  • Since the making of this video, Skratchworx and Pedestrian have had to pull out of this years BPM exhibition so there will be no stand and no DJ battle....real shame...

  • another perfect tutorial

DJ Roc Raida rest in peace i can't believe..

  • Thanks DJ Angelo for the time and committment taken to post these vids. Being a great DJ and a great teacher are two completely seperate skillsets that you possess. As a newbie to scratching, this is the best explanation and technical breakdown of the 2 click orbit (2 click flare) by far. Thanks!

  • Thanx again!

  • Angelo I've been following you for a long time. I'm glad you're giving beginners (and those of us that aren't good) an example. Thank homes and congrats on your new fanbase =)

  • hanks for taking the time to break it down. can't wait for your crab tutorial. i cant seem to get that one.

  • what i meant was scratching on the right tt with the cross fader throw away. most people wanna show you on the left side, and i found that most club djs i work with want the fader to go towards the live deck.

    anyways, t

  • Fantastic. Why are you the only one willing to break things down for aspiring DJs?

  • dj angelo

u are the man! i love the fact that you go hamster style. it makes it much easier for me to see what is going on. i am gonna be hitting this one all weekend trying to get it down.

    thanks bro!

  • Actually bro, I'm not scratching hamster style. I'm just starting the scratch with the crossfader open which is the case for all flare techniques

  • The scratches over the beat blew my mind.

  • nice!

  • Great thanks for the great video!!!

    DJ Mikey mike

  • thanks for "simplifying". haha.

seriously tho man, thanks, it'll help out w/ my practice.

  • Sweet! I'm a bit whack at 2 click flares. I have to use two fingers and sort of twiddle the two clicks to get a quick sound. Any chance of a video on boomerangs? I'm having HUGE trouble with those! Awesome videos!

  • your the cream... jeez lol that looks so difficult

  • awesum u shuld put a vid up on beat juggling
