The Japanese version has an example of using the wrong music at the wrong time, I'm watching the subbed version of episode 35, and that inspirational you featured during the last part of the main recap has been playing throughout the whole episode, even during the serious moments like when Phantomon and the Bakemon are capturing everyone, it wasn't until Palmon digivolved that the music changed and the dramatic music we should've had didn't start til the end, killing the episode's mood.

I remember that song!! =o I was super little and all I could think was...... "when did they start playing that?"- those words had a negative connotation (I wasn't a regular watcher, figured I had missed something that would explain the cheesy song)

It's fun to compare Digimon to Pokemon in terms of the "music that plays when things get awsome". While Digimon had that awfully generic pop song, Pokemon had this bitching electric guitar solo that played. Even though I think as a whole Digimon is a better show than Pokemon, that was one seriously poor choice in music.

Also: holy crap Gabumon is Saix!

Okey i seriously lol'd right there . And your comment is pretty much spot on .

Though i will admit as a kid i grew up on the GERMAN dub of the show that had a pretty cool voice selection for the show . From what i remember the voices pretty much always fited nicley though it was a long time ago.

And the german version of the theme was admitedly pretty cool i think you can look it up on youtube

I always found the music really get the me in the good way, I can't recall any bad points to the music, even the one listed here, but each person is differnt.

I kinda liked that they didn't overuse mood shadows in this show. I'm a firm believer that less is more and all those other animes that use them, her examples included are just too over the top. they didn't add to the scene so much as over do what could have been beautifully subtle.

lol i just finished watching digimon. All I gotta say is...

Subbed over dubbed, better music, not a horrible storyline for its content. But dubbed brings me nostalgia.

I must disagree on your opinion of the music. While I agree that at times the bgm was iffy, I never thought it was downright out of place. Sure, compared to the Jap version it's not very good, but I don't think its even close to as bad as you imply here. I also loved the song "Hey Digimon", and thought it was an awesome insert, particularly when they were fighting the buffed up Myotismon. The punny dubs are much more hurtful on the American version, particularly Mimi.

Well I am glad we got a direct dub from the original Japanese version in Latin America, the ystill chanegd the names for osme reason but they left everything else unchanged.

I'm glad 4kids didn't got this. Can you imagin how f#%@ing horrable it would be with cut scences and cheesy voice down to babyish. And the music will be the horrable as poka music. Thumbs up if you agree of what I say.
