i had a 13cm tumor on my left kidney and had surgery ( left Nephrectomy)
The tumor and kidney were removed , after the surgery I felt something wrong with my left testicle and later found out it was a Hydrocele. Now im probally looking at more surgery , wish daddy luck.
I'm 15 and i had a hydrocele, i think i got my hydrocele when i was around 13 or somthing i recently underwent the surgery about 5days ago and im walking about rite enough. I have dissolvable stiches but my nut still feels weird and kinda big i think thats to do with swelling can anyone tell me when this should go away and is it normal to still be kinda big after surgery?
@EvanMW2 im only 15 aswell, i had the operation in febuary, i was worried that my balls werent going to return to normal size again, but eventually they did after a month or 2. the scar also faded well aswell. ever since i had my op, ive worn tight boxers, i found that this helped :D
Feels fluidey and you can shine a light through it.
My right (normal) testicle seems absolutely tiny in comparison. My right one is about the size of a "Malteezer" if not smaller.
It is still growing slowly, I am having an ultrasound on Tuesday and the doc says it is up to me wether I have surgery on it or not, and I am unsure as to what to do.
What is the surgery like? Must you go under a general, and have time off?
@3oMethylmorphine I have had it done, and mine got bigger and bigger. one side only. Go get it done. You'll have time off, ...say a week, depends what you do. I would have a spinal block . In hindsight. The hang over from the drugs that put you out lasted two weeks, before I felt myself again. Spinal block wears off quickly. Don't let it get bigger.
not a joke...I've helped repair hydroceles that men have let go, and I have NO IDEA how they can walk...they are the size of a baseball and larger....and we've had scrotal hernia's where the intestines were IN the scrotum.....it was a mess....
iv just had surgery to remove my hydrocele 3 days ago it was about the size of a lemon! i would just like to hear from some one that has also had the surgery what there testicles looked like a few days after the surgery im just a little concerned it duznt look to healthy i still cant see or feel my left testicle is this normal?
i too had a hydrocele operation, mine was 6 days ago, there still is some numbness in my case as well as a little bit of disfiguration, swelling takes a couple of weeks to go down but things should improve. the testicle sometimes feels hard because during the operation the testicle is taken outside of the scrotum, which sometimes takes a while to return to its original position within the scrotum after surgical repair.
the doctors say a hydrocele is fluid around the testicle, my right testicle is 2 the size of my left, there is something clogged and the fucking doctors think its a harmless hydrocele that can be left alone, i think the doctors are wrong i am in pain and it gets worse every time i ejaculate, its like a spermacele anyone have any advice?? please help
I read about the operation that you can have to get rid of this. It's called "Needle Aspiration Biopsy".. I have Hyrocele I believe, and they said the same thing.. that it's nothing big and not to worry about but, it keeps getting bigger and needs to be taken care of. Finding out about the surgical procedure, I feel much better! I hope I could help!
@witchcraftlord sounds like you have Epididymitis, which requires antibiotics, bedrest, elevation of scrotum with ice packs and analgesics. I think it sounds like this because it is on one side and the Epididymis is the tubule where the sperm lays before ejaculation. I'd inquire about this to a physician. If it is a hydrocele it can be surgically drained or aspirated to reduce swelling. Good Luck
I went in for a follow up 2 days post surgery. I asked him how I looked and he said like 2 pitbulls had their way with my scrotum. I said, "yeah, looks better to me too." I told him I'd rather have 2 pitbulls than 1 complacent doc. The pain isn't any different. He realizes that I'm irked over the lack of a drain with the first surgery. The drain worked flawlessly this time, removing a total of 50 ml of blood & junk. It's been removed and I feel great. My wife has to nail me down to the recliner
I came home 1 hour ago from the surgery, long trip 160km away :O. No pain just like "stings" sometimes, I can sit without pain at all, still I had bad luck so my right leg is "sleeping" or what you call it so I cant walk lol should be good tommorow they told me.
They did cut up on 2 places, one in my scrotum and one in my hip, ~4cm scars.
Im glad I did this and its over!
So people dont be scared or nervous about this, Im 17 and I was scared but when its done you will think it was nothing.
so how many hernias did u have... cuz i think i have two... cuz the right side of my waistline hurts alot....and my right nut is starting to swell at the top of the nut
Great! Its really no big deal tbh, so nothing to be worried about! I would say the worst part is before the surgery.
I didnt even take the pain killers all the time, no pain just a little when you have to walk but nothing more, 1 week after the surgery I could walk great and could go back to ordinary life. :)
Glad you're doing well. I bought extra pillows and stuffed one between my knees so I could sleep on my side. I'm still on the fence about another surgery. It's still hard as a rock and very uncomfortable. The pain is better, but there are times when my scrotum gets "caught" between my legs while standing, etc... where it is extremely painful.
Forgive my ignorance, but how did the hydrocele recur if the tunica vaginalis was either removed or turned backed and sutured to prevent peitoneal fluid from entering the scrotum?
I have no idea. This is the first recurrence for this surgeon. He offers little explanation. We met with a radiologist to find a way to determine what the issue was, but he could not offer any type of imaging to "see" the problem. I went from a lemon sized soft hydrocele to a yam sized rock hard "something." It's pretty discouraging.
No antibiotics pre op and when I called the office to notify them of the swelling, they asked if I had a fever. I said no. They said well it's normal then. No infection. I never did get a fever, but had a whopper of an infection. And there was no drain. He told me Friday that he is ready to re-do the surgery at any time. I looked at him kinda like John Belushi would with the one eyebrow rising. He is competent, however, I'm not ready for the pain again. There is no guarantee this time...
Your surgeon will tell you that the surgery has a high success rate. And it's true. However, I'm one of the one's who have had complications. An immediate infection caused swelling that blew out all of my stitches. There was an immediate recurrence of the hydrocele, larger than the initial one. Lot's and lot's of pain. Over 200 Percoset's in 2 months. The wound had to heal from inside out with dressing changes several times a day due to drainage. 3 months and I'm not better yet. : (
I nixxed the surgery. Financially, I can't afford to take more than a week off from work if things go south and I don't have an emergency account of 3-6 months savings as a backup. Such is life as this was only an elective procedure to begin with.
I did return this week for surgery to reduce the recurrence of the hydrocele. I became curious last month when an ultrasound showed something other than lymph fluid. Lo & behold, the doc finds a tough, fibrous cocoon that my body has been building around a large volume of blood in my scrotum. He said, "several hundred milliliters" of bloody crap. It took him an extra 90 mins to cut it all out. I feel 1,000% better than I have in 6 months. He should have used a drain initially, I believe.
Just had one removed 7 days ago. Surprisingly and happily very little pain. Just discomfort. 7 days later I am walking, bending and moving around fine, still swollen but even that gets better every day.
I've had a non-communicating hydrocele on my lefty for many years as a result of high ligation surgery to repair a varicocele(left side) when I was in my early twenties(I'm now 49). Size of a small orange with ocassional dull ache confirmed by a reputable urologist by exam and ultrasound. Scheduled for hydrocelectomy in a few months and I'm scared shitless over post-op pain and a potential 3 inch incision in my scrotom.
i have a few little lumps underneath one of my testes ( im pretty sure there not on my testicle ) i can only feel them when my scrotal skin in hanging and loose, is this hydroceles? or something more serious?
In 07, I had varicocele surgery, and it started with a physical when my doctor noticed enlarged veins in my left testicle. He said it felt "noodley". If yours is actually visible ("noodley" veins) then you might have varicocele. You probably dont have hydrocele (thats fluid swelling). Im no doc but you shouldnt worry about it too much. Ask about it at your next physical, but most importantly just monitor it to see if it gets bigger. Hope I helped and take this with a grain of salt.
Yes it went great, it was a Hydrocele only, they did some ultra sound and stuff. It felt so good to know it wasn't anything evil in it! Now Im waiting for a surgery time. :)
I will write it down if you want. The hospital calling me next week for the surgery time. I hope I get it soon couse my is quiet huge lol, more like a tennisball right now.
Im 17 years old and Im having this, its started for like 3 years ago. Now its big like 2/3 of a tennisball, no hurt its just there. Im scared to make a sergery but still I know I need to do it. Will it grow for ever?
I have a hydrocele. I had surgery and it came back. Then on the follow up appointment, the dr. draining 3 1/2 syringes full of the liquid, it came back. Then on the 2nd follow up, he drained 1 1/2 syringes. Then it came back! Then on my 3rd follow up, I was told that whatever I do, it will come back.
Yeah, this looks scary because i hate surgery. But i got to get it done because i have hydrocele. I'm 16 too, my lefty is giant. thank god it's a none commuicating hydrocele though.
Just had my hydrocele operated on after 2years of living with it. Surgery went great and not feeling much pain after either! Id certainly recommend the surgery!

currently suffering with a hydrocele, only had it for about 5 months but its already the size of an average sized mango, ive been told i could be waiting up to 3 months for surgury, what a joke! i can literaly feel it get bigger every day and if its gone from nothing to a mango size in the matter of a few months(first couple of months it was slow growing)then you do the math on how big it will be in a few more months. oh and it can be quite painful at times. i hate the arogance of some doctors!!

Well, its been 12 days post-op and swelling down significantly to the point that my lefty is only slightly
larger than my normal right side. Worked a full day yesterday with no problemas.
Able to walk comfortably and switch from stomach to back more comfortably while
sleeping. Looks like I'm well on the road to full recovery, which my surgeon
said takes from 3-6 months.
ar60 2 years ago
Well, its been 8 days post-op hydrocelectomy, and the past few days I've experienced some post-op swelling(nothing severe and
still about a quarter of the size that I was pre-op), The real bitch
has been my inability to sleep through the night, not because of pain, but due to
the issue of not being able to sleep on my side or switch positions comfortably. Today was the first time that I saw a slight reduction in swelling.
