  • i'm going to OAA in may!!

  • Great video.

I wanted to ask you what are the chances of entering the OAA. Is there a lot of candidates?

  • what kind of course did you have in OAA?i am an Indian can i join the that course?and finally i want i know is that possible to join foreigners to join the air cadets school?

  • aree u guaranteed a job at an airlinee after and what are the financial aids availablee?????

  • Hi, thank you so much for the video! My dream is to get into OAA. I would like to ask you whether or not OAA is the best flying school in Europe. I would also like to ask you if it is hard to get into OAA. I will appreciate any kind of informations. Thank you.

  • @tommyrivask Getting into OAA if fully dependent on you. I am in the process at the moment, If you can fund it, and you meet the aptitude they look for in the skills assessment, and medically healthy, ready to learn and face a challenge, you can't go wrong. You'll love it and you will find yourself flying £millions worth of airliner in a short enough time..

  • It's not as great as flight schools make it seem like... It's hard to ignore the 80k debt you have while making under 20k and realizing the facts after you graduating.

  • @Ironwoman92 if u go direct to ryan air u start on around 40k with a prospect of when ur a captain earning 80k... as well as enjoying the job

  • Best job ever!!!

    MY DREAM since 9 years.

  • who went to the flight training at heathrow today cos i did :)

  • i want to become a pilot but i cant afford it

  • MY DREAM IS TO BE A PILOT AND I GOING TO FIGHT FOR IT !

  • @Orpheaspanayiotopou same with me

  • @Orpheaspanayiotopou Me too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • i did the houston location at ATP and it was a complete joke. after that, i went to jacksonville and instructed in ATL as well- also a complete joke. i was severely undertrained and not ready to instruct. i felt terrible for my students but ATP just wants your money. PLEASE DO NOT GO THERE. THEY TRAIN UNSAFE PILOTS.

  • I would not go to ATP because its a complete rip off. I'm in the interviewing process with AA and I can tell you this- for what ATP charges, you can buy your own airplane and get lessons from someone who actually knows something about flying. for any questions, please email me.

  • Is anyone here going down to oxford in December for interviews n stuff, i am. just curious to who else is :)

  • can u become an airline pilot straight out of college/flight school?

  • @AverageJoeNJ It all depends who you know and how much time you have really. Legally, yes, you will have all the required credentials to be an airline pilot (minus the type rating, of course), but you will probably not have enough total time to get hired by an airline immediately.

  • What the hell? £80,000 for this course?!?! Uhhh is there anywhere else you could train?

  • @1Explosivez1 I think it costs about half that much in a fightschool called "euro american flightschool" :)

  • amazing i went to the taster day in may the academy is ridiculous! i love it and really want to go ! nice video!

  • THIS IS AN AMAZING VIDEO! so inspiring. thank you so much ap264. =)

  • i gonna to be a pilot in a few years but if i gonna to be pilot of air europa what kind of training i need on gestair academy airline training the other one i no remeber

  • DO NOT SIGN UP FOR ATP FLIGHT ACADEMY. IT IS A RIP OFF. THEY DON'T DO GROUND SCHOOL AND DON'T CARE ABOUT HOW THEIR STUDENTS DO. THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY BUT THEY ARE GOING BANKRUPT AND WILL CLOSE LOCATIONS AND NOT REFUND YOUR MONEY.

  • @FlyWisconsin what are you talking about? This is Oxford Aviation Academy, so do you disapprove of this academy aswell?

  • @BDFPA I have no experience of Oxford Aviation Academy but I do with ATP and I can assure you that ATP IS A SCAM. they straight up lie on their pamphlets- they tell you they'll give you 50 hours of cross country multi but then make you sign this papework the day you leave saying that its + or - 5 hours, so it ended up only being 45 for me. also, the instructors have NO clue what they're doing...they do not train you for the airlines, they train you to be an instructor.

  • @FlyWisconsin Ok, thanks for the heads up. Like you i know the realities of this industry. I am currently studying a degree in engineering with the intention of attending OAA upon graduation. However once i have passed out i fully understand that the likely hood of obtaining a position at BA (as the owner of this channel did) are very slim.

    Thanks and good luck.

  • @FlyWisconsin WHICH atp course did you do? and where was ur location? im looking to go into the atp degree program...

  • also, ATP's deal with American Eagle is a lie. you don't get an interview with Eagle after 500 hours...you MIGHT get an interview. MIGHT. You're MUCH better off going to an FBO and getting your ratings.. In the end it will be cheaper and you will learn a LOT more.

  • @FlyWisconsin your wrong. ATP sais they guarantee a job with american eagle. thats is wrong. they guarantee you an interview after 500hrs, thats not a lie. but that doesnt mean you'll get the job. and this is what i've heard from a CFI who attended ATP.

  • gr8 job man!! loved it! :) i'm confused between choosing a career as commercial pilot(though fighter pilot would be awesome!!) and one as an aeronautical engineer..either way..i just love planes too much to not be part of this world!! <3 God bless you pilots!! :)

  • everytime i watch a video like this, i always get sentimental, Not because of my passion for flight, but because i love it so much, yet i cant get my license because of my epilepsy. Eyes to the skies my friends :)

  • Im taking a proper lesson for my 45th birthday, its going to be a cessna :( i wanted a saab 340

  • hi great vid just a few questions. i saw a previous comment about a-levels. is it still possible to do this course without having a-levels in physics?

    thanks in advance

  • I'm starting at the Oxford Aviation Academy in november this year, via EPST. I believe this video gave me a nice image what life there's about. Thanks for that. Do you have any tips for the time there, besides enjoying every single moment? please PM me

  • Comment removed

  • Did you go to a pilot school or the Airforce?

I'm currently trying to get in the RAAF, and eventually get employed by Qantas, but my next favourite airline that I would like to get employed by would be British Airways....

  • Wicked cool video man! Must be a hell of a souvenir for those pilots in subject. 5/5

  • Do i need to ahve the exelent marks at school? sorry for bad English:)

  • I am 17 and have recently passed my skills assessment at Oxford, seriously cannot wait to start the rest of my life, its going to be amazing

  • do you appear on this video at all except for the pictures at the end?

  • perfect song for a perfect video

  • Hi!

    Really good video! Well done!

I would like to be a pilot and this video makes me put lots of efforts and work hard to achieve this goal. When I come back from school and I don't feel like working, I watch this video to be motivated to work!!

By the way, what's the name of the music you used?

Thanks again for sharing this video!

  • @FlyFlyAF it's a song by the welsh band Feeder, called 'Feeling a Moment.'

  • and you can have all of that for only £9000000000000000000000

  • @emersonpla yes just a bit less, course prices this year are around £76,000

  • @emersonpla its called a loan....

  • I wish I could become a pilot.... one day, but for sure, I will...

  • I would like to be a pilot, one day...

  • im in highschool gr 11 what do i need to become a pilot, how does it all work after grade 12 please help me out :D FLYING ROCKS TRAVELINGS AMAZING

  • @Gamerboss1000 Standard qualifications are around military level; 2 A-levels and 5 C GCSEs (or equivilent), must include English language, maths and double-science or physics...all the other are at your own will.

  • those pilots are awesome, i wish i can be with them someday :(

  • aerobatics makes ur heart fly with u hehehe lol :D

  • @bhs117 LOL, made me giggle.

  • i have a question :)

how many years does it need to be become ready to be an airliner pilot ?

    thank u....

  • I want to apply for OAA after my A-levels. I just wondered which subjects you studied at a-level and what sort of grades you got? thanks

  • @asarsealex wots ur msn man

  • i will be honest, OAA are the worst school in australia... only flown in conjunction with the aussie bunch but they have absolutely no respect for other aircraft. Next idiot that taxi's past with the strobes blaring at night, or has a landing light staring right into my cockpit im gonna knock out

  • i've stayed on in 6th form and ive taken physics at a-level but i havent taken maths would you say it is possible for me to go to oxford without maths at a-level?

  • IM ONLY 13 what age do u think should i strt to go to a flight school an how much wud it cost

  • @jr4460 yea dude , same here

  • Really like your video, thanks, this has just encouraged me even more.

  • hi all.. i got a question.. does being a pilot pay well? my family want's me to be a doctor but i want to be a pilot.. it took alot of talking but i finaly got their support..

im on the last year of my highschool and my family wants to sell some of their land to pay for this course if im really dedicated. i need some advice as well..thanks!

  • Did work experience at Oxford Airport, best week of my life!!!! :):)

  • Im in grade 12 now and I'm thinking of taking the science and aviation program at waterloo

but looks a bit expensive. I could just still take a univ program in physics and then apply for flight school right?

I have also been thinking about millitary pilot training

  • I finish school in June after i finish my GCSE's then i'm moving to Los Angeles and doing my PPL for 1 Year get some hours, enroll in the flight school there costing at $52,000 then once i hopefully pass get type-rated on either the Airbus 319,320,321 or the 767 for a short haul rating out of my own funds.

Then who know's maybe i will come back here and try and get a job or stay state side? You still on the 737 mate?

  • training school at oxford is quite expensive, £72,000 isnt it?

Im starting my PPL , 7 written exams, 1 oral and night rating for just under £10,000.

Question is to go from there to being able to apply to an airline where do i go?

  • What are the entry requirements? and how much does the training cost ?

  • euhm hi :S how do i become a pilot ? im 13 and i want to become an airline pilot :3

  • is the man at 0:44 a maltese guy!!!

  • Comment removed

  • which plane do u think is better the warrior or the seneca cus my brother was on ap287

  • how much does OAA cost i heard its expencive. Is there some kind of grant you can get towards it?

  • Legend video! This is one of the reasons Im starting my commercial training. Off to Florida for part of the training on Wednesday and im doing it in stages (modular). You dont have to be a millionaire either to do this! anyone who wants to become a pilot can achieve it! keep up the great videos!!

  • hey,

I've set my mind and heart to become an airline pilot but i really don't have any idea where to start. I'm 16 right now and live in the US. What is the first step towards become a pilot and what would you academic strengths have to be? I know this may be a hassle to you but if you could please reply I would really really really appreciate it.

  • @jogabeau hi there,

It's great to know that there are other people out there that share the dream:):) Physics and Maths are desirable by airlines these days, and English is essential (being from the States you have no problem). Try going for a few trial flights at your local aeroclub, they aren't too expensive and give a good indication as to whether a) you like flying and b) it is a career path that you want to pursue. If you like it - go for it.

  • Im 15 years old about to start my GCSE's, i've always wanted to be a British Airways pilot and nothing else but i want to go to flight school in the US not only because its cheaper but i love it out there, does anyone know any good flight schools in the US? Maybe a link to some websites? By the way i love your videos, your an inspiration!

  • I really wanna be a fighter pilot in the USAF, but Ive heard and read that having some previous flying experience behind the wheel of a plane will increase your chances of being picked, but flight school is so expensive and on top of that if you dont have some kind of scholarship, you gotta pay off college loans!

  • your earn 30,00 pounds per month on ba you have a another video the b737 landing

you said you earn 30k pounds + taxes is the 30 k pounds per month??

    sorry if all guffy

  • im 14 years old i told my mom and dad i will go to oxofrd aviation

its was my dream to be an airline pilot when i was a 5

  • Do you only need to have the right to work and live in the UK to join BA?

I'm norwegian, my self, and considering applying :)

  • Cool! I am going to the UK if i'm old enough to follow the training! From the netherlands to the uk!

  • @fsxclips Nice ;)

  • THE BEST VIDEO ON YOUTUBE!!! GREAT 5 STARS!!

    THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!

  • ohhhh ! Amazing can't wait for 1 and half year to go to OAA. I will go there to test my skills. For now i m flying around as a visitor in other cockpits.

  • there need to be more women pilots!

  • Do you have to pay the £60,000+ out right at OAA, or is that a loan that is payable back once in full employment?

  • @Eaglesham0260

yeah it's a loan, i haven't been but from research you get a loan from them and you have to own a house which, if you fail the training and don't get employed by an airline and can't pay back the money, they take your house. i think that's how it works, if anyone else knows they might want to correct me.

  • Your videos are amazing and have inspired me to go and sit the skills assessment at the OAA. I was just wondering if it's possible to possibly enrol in a college at the same time as being at the OAA to gain some physics qualification (eg. at night classes) and also would having A-levels/Scottish Highers in maths and physics make you more attractive to airlines such as BA? Do you know anyone without those A-levels that got employed easily? Thanks :)

  • @handyandy92 If you dont have the alevel now, and youre after school ie age 18 then dont bother. Aslong as you have gcse level or equivalent. UNLESS you want to be eligible to apply to sponsorship schemes like the thomas cook one now. That requires a-level qualifications as a pre- requisite

  • Hi I'm twelve and really want to become an airline pilot flying for BA's 777. Could you give me any tips on reaching my goal and I'm starting to save up my pocket so that I can pay something towards my pilot training (I also want to go to Oxford). Or is taking out an loan an better option?

  • Hi i want to go to Gloucester's Aeros to get a commercial license, what other ratings would you say are required for a turbo prop aircraft. Thanks. Also how would i learn to fly a Dash 8 for example or do airlines teach me how to fly there aircraft.

  • i am willing to apply to OAA this summer i hope things go well will try my best

  • What can i say... this video touches me deep inside the soul. I feel a strong emotion, and all i can say is i hope i achieve my lifelong dream... to become a pilot.

  • Was my dream too, but I can forget about it, they found out i'm slightly colourblind, There goes my dream...

  • Hi, this video really inspires me. I wanted to become a pilot a long time ago but due to financial problems, I took up an engineering course, anyway, the passion still burns and I just wanna ask if you guys know about sponsorships so I can apply for flight training? thanks and fly safe.

  • ice song. What is called?

  • Hey guys, really cant wait to come to oxford, i have a ppl and have roughly 70 hours total, not too amazingly sharp on my mental math at the moment though, i am working on it! have booked the assessment for late july, early august and was wondering if anyone had any advice on it? what kind of math will i need to get good at for it and what goes on?

    Thanks,

  • i need some info about your flight academy :) how much did it cost?

  • Hi,

i'M 14 and next year want to begin training to finally get my ATP. Yes I want to go corporate or commericial. How long you think that would take? Is the Aviation world looking good for me in the future? If I can get into Embry-Riddle College will that help me out for my future?

  • just wanna make sure,, uuhhmm,, that's a college course right.. not some school you enter after you have a college degree

  • Hi,

I was wondering if you didn't take physics and isn't too good at math but excellent in everything else, would there still be a chance that you will ever become a pilot?

    =)

  • @scvs2 yes of course. you only need maths and physics grade C at GCSE. thats it you dont have to be super clever to be a pilot!

  • @AP264 R u a pilot?

You must be very proud of yourself

You are doing world most toughest job

Do u go to home at night time?

  • @AP264 You ever had dell hammond in groundschool? ;)

  • @AP264 You ever had Dell Hammond in groundschool?;)

  • @AP264 can you do further maths and physics and become a pilot.

  • @AP264 if you get low in physics and low in maths like 65% could you still fly a boeing aircraft?

  • @AP264

"yes of course. you only need maths and physics grade C at GCSE. thats it you dont have to be super clever to be a pilot!"

    This is really encouraging!!!!

  • @AP264 until today,u have given me the best hopes, well done

  • @AP264 Reading the OAA website, they state that 5 GCSE (C) or higher including English language and double-science or physics. A-levels are not essential but are serious consideration. Could have changed I am not sure but when I read this several year ago I started college, got Level-2 in maths and English language and doing a level 3 diploma in science. AP264, is there any courses you suggest I take whilst I am at college?

  • Which airport in Phoenix do you guys fly out of? Did my CMEL, CFII, and MEI out there..hope you don't have to wear the ties in summer!

  • @ual777222 Goodyear. No we dont wear ties in the US only for when you have a flying exam! Even now at work I dont wear a tie during flying, only for when out in the airport in public.

  • @AP264 Good to hear. Wearing ties in the summer in Phoenix would be borderline criminal! ;)

  • @AP264 hahaha, the tie makes you look much better, good flights out there captain!!

  • @AP264 Im middle classed.....Excellent in science and good in english but sometimes not in math.....have i got a chance in being a pilot? I dreamt being a pilot since i was 2 years old.

  • Comment removed

  • how long's school in a day? how many hrs?

  • @joboikickme 8:30am-5pm then you have do self study in evenings

  • @AP264 ouch!! ain't it stressing? cause i'll be going 1st yr college in our aviation school here in he philippines and its a dang 8am-6:30 much longer than you sched... :((

  • @AP264 i just got enrolled in a pilot school here in philippines,, our class is from 8am-7pm.. soo dang tiring.. and of course self study.. is it challenging? i mean,, ground school's hard??

  • Hi AP264, when you do the FO course at OAA, do they give any funding help (sponsorships, loans) that sort of thing? Only there's no way i could get £70,000 in a couple of years!

  • @TomTomSingAlong no only banks offer loans. GAPAN offers a £70K scholarship tho.

  • @Appleshaz i think it varies abit where you go, i think on the CTC they used to do it for 66k then it went up to 72k. not entirely sure though.

  • this is a realy cool vid it makes we wanna do the oxford course cus thats what my brother did

  • even more and more every time I watch them! :)

Btw, what is the name of the song in this video.

    Thanks

    Peter

  • Hey Peter the song is from a band called Feeder and the song is called Feeling the moment :)

  • @kevinhickey19 Thanks! :P

  • Hi

I'm a 16 year old boy from Finland and and my dream has always been to be an airlinepilot when I grow up!

Now, my question is that do you have to be really good at maths, because I'm not too god ad it (atleast right now) and it's making me a littlebit nervous about my chanses to be a pilot for a commercial airline!

This might sound a little wierd because I'm so young, but I just can't stop thinking about aviation and I'm watching airplane videos on youtube daily.

    Ps: Your videos inspire me

  • I wanna become a real pilot.. but its just too expensive

  • Hey do you know if BA gives scholarships por been pilot? if not, is there any institution that can help me with the money? thanks

  • Not any more im affraid, i am starting at Oxford in a week, with regards to the funding flight schools have ties with certain banks that will arange finance help in the form of loans, its not cheap though but well worth doing!

  • OK, thanks anyway

  • If you want to know about how to become a pilot then i got tons of information

  • 1344

  • @hargreavesjn123. I am also in the air cadets. What sqn are you in

  • Peebee I go aircadets, 1475 you?

  • I have just got ot say that was the most inspiring video on aviation I have ever seen. I am 13 and desperate to become a comercial pilot, I am now even more desperate to become one. I would like to go to oxford aviation training. Can you give me any advice on anything. Thanks

  • Hi,

are u really good at maths and is it imperative to be able to be fast at mental maths? Also, when you got your type rating y didnt you go for a type rating with a bigger plane, do you need to start with 737 type rating?

  • hi i would like to get into the aviation world as a pilot i am in the air cadets and would like to get my ppl for gliding would i need 2 be any good at maths or english or not and what markes in GCSE would i need to be an airline pilot

    could u post back plzz

  • @hargreavesjn123 heyyy been in air cadets is very helpful and having a PPL is a great qualification. I served in Cadets for three years but i did not complete my PPL, instead i finished my 40 hrs in ground school and passed my radio and PSTAR exam.

you need to be comfortable with math andn english most colleges and uni. require a decent mark to get in. if ur around 70%-90% in math, im sure you will be fine :)

  • what shall i study to go to an aviation academy ?

  • It seems very exciting :) I admired people like pilots :) I cannot do this job... I´m not afraid of flying, but I have a big respect... you know, when i am sitting in a plane and i imagine, that under my feet are only bags and nothing else...

good luck to all pilots in the word :)

  • I am 17 and will be graduating high school by the end of june. I am planning on going to a community college and flight school. I have no idea what the schedule will be like to obtain a PPL. Could you please give me a little bit of insight?

  • well I am currently doing my PPL, and the thoery course is done once a week. And the flights are done whenever you want. If the instructor can take you in flight.

  • @xafsamx , when you start flying, don't were a fucking uniform to fly a piper seneca like these guys... Good luck in your future aviation career

  • you need to collect 2500 hours of flight experience to unfreeze your ATPL(airline transport pilot's license), There is a class 1 medical to undertake, i suggest you speek to your gp about a class 1 medical, you should be fine though. it costs between £50,000 - £75,000 or you can get your license in america for $20,000 , you can, however get partial/full sponsorship for your flight traning from the airline

  • unfortunately, your comments are bolllocks.

ATPL is unfrozen after 1500 hours

and no you can't get your training done in america for $20k
