  • Nice tank! i tried to scroll through the question to see if any asked but i did not see the question im am going to ask. I want to know what type of rock is that in your tank?

  • Wat een bak en wat een super tof bestand! kan ik met mn studenten huisje alleen ma van dromen :P

  • i have 55gallons with 15 african cichlid(maximum size 5 inches). can i put 2 oscars(maximum size 5 inches) with african cichlids

  • @3000carriers it depends. 55 is a larger tank but not huge. also it depends what cochlids are in there to put oscars in. oscars are very intellegent. they are like rocket scientists. they could kill the fish you have in there or vis versa like green terrors and jack dempseys should be fine

  • @Slash116ricky15 i have acei(yellow tail, red zebra, severum, demasoni and 2 other king that i dont know)

  • @3000carriers well as you said about five inches. they are good sized. i would say you probably could but make sure there alre LOTS!!!! of hinding places. they might not bother eachother or they will kill eachother if you can while picking out the fish. dont pick the most aggressive one in there. or the biggest either try to buy a little smaller. oscars are intresting they have personalitys that can dictate the tank. do you have a "boss" of the tank right now. this will be a fish that fights

  • @Slash116ricky15 yes the "boss" its an ACEI, sometime he chases the others fishes. yes i have a lot of hiding places. i put alots of rocks

  • @3000carriers over territory. a good trick is to redoo your tank before putting the new fish in. so to not cause fights over territory. they will be all have a clean slate and all be starting off the same in a new envirment. thus each fish has a chance of getting territory that isnt clamed by someone else. have fun keep me posted i want to know what happens

  • nice beutufly

  • Awsome tank m8 :D and the fish have exxelent colour, I need some help with identifying my fishh :/ can anyone watch my vid and tell me pls?? it would meen the world to me :) thx

  • Thanks. My fish are partly imported wildcaught specimens and partly bought as fry in the shops in The Netherlands. I feed them protein pellets, shrimps, mussels and smelt.

  • I would love to see a new video with both close up images of the fish and a view that would show the whole tank. Your tank has truly inspired me. Thanks!

  • hey check my Malawi tank out

  • Did you buy that rock background? It looks awesome.

  • cuz its not a back ground

  • It are 2 "Back to Nature" Malawi backgrounds with 12 "Back to Nature" modules.

  • very very nice tank and delicate fish

  • very amazing!! How do you control their temper?? Only male?? Thanks

  • Mixed male/females. The tank is big enough to spread the agression.

  • i have two yellow labs i think i have a male and a female i just bought a male but the female destroys him lol because hes so tiny and hes afraid to mate with her i guess then i have another thats malawi thats male that doesnt give a hoot lol

  • No big haps, but 3 couples of small haps like the Fryeri for instance.

  • Wow that is a georgeous tank and fish. I have a 90gal with malawi's. I'm wondering what the rocks in the back ground are?

  • I read somewhere that Back to Natures are hell as expensive.

But they also look hell as sweet XP

  • You are right twice.

    cris

  • Thanks !

  • peace sells and an awesome tank how does it get any better

  • I think the smaller ones will fit, but be carefull which species you choose (read about them first).

  • yea i know alot about the species.. from what ive heard i think 5 will fit great... thanks alot and check out my vid... ... ur tank is gorgeous and ur fish look great, also do ur fish flash or rub against rocks sometimes?

  • Sometimes they do, and that is no problem. When they do it all the time you have to treat you water.

  • thanks i alot :D i subscribed to you.. check out my vid and gratz on ur wonderful tank

  • awesome setup check out my vid... do u think i could fit 5 of these HAPS in a 60 gallon long... 4 nd a half feet with 3 filters..? i give u 5*s

  • whats better for a small african tank a 20 gallon high or a 20 gallon long??

  • I think it is just to small.

  • There are some smaller Malawi's (mbuna's) that probably would fit in, but most don't.

You should really choose with care. First get a good book to study the different species.

  • Megadeth - Peace Sells

Awesome song and AWESOME fish. Are they aggressive?

  • Yes, good combination isn't it.

The fish have ehough room to not be agressive.

  • I would love to have a Malawi Cichlid. I have a 40 gallon breeder aquarium, (36"L x 18"W x 17"H) I think it would be large enough but I also plan on getting Cardinal Tetra, angelfish, and some other fish. Would it bully them or would it need a larger tank?

    Thanks,

  • 3 letters:

    WOW

  • I saw your tank / fish pictures on the cichlid forum dated 2008 - awesome! I have to find a place that sells them in the US. You actually had a mated pair? Wow..

  • i think I know - Buccochromis Rhoadesii ? How much did you pay for him?

  • I didn't pay for this one, it is offspring of an other couple I had earlier.

  • Great predator tank! What is the name of the enlongated fish that appears at 1:03 and 1:11. He's a beautiful fish and how large is your tank?

    Thanks!

  • That is indeed a Buccochromis Rhoadesii. The female is at 0:56.

    My tank is 350 x 80 x 80.

    Almost 600 gallon (2240 litre).

  • can you recommend some mildy aggressive cichlids for a 55g? this is what i have: 4 Yellow labs 2 Afra Cichlids 3 electric blue johannis 1 red tailed shark 2 bumble bee cichlids 2 eureka red cichlid 1 demonasi cichlid 2 azureus cichlid i would like to keep about 20-25 and i only have 17 so please tell me if my combonation is good and name some other, hardy and semi aggressive cichlids. please mention some mbuna/malawi cichlids. awesome tank!
  • Hi, I am not a specialist in the cichlids you mention. I do not know even know them all. But I wouldn't combine mbuna's and aulonacara's in such a small tank if I were you. Mbuna's ar rather aggressive and drive the other fish mad (especially the afra) Make it a mbuna tank and keep 2 or 3 species with larger numbers. This spreads the agression.

  • what cichlids do you recommend i get rid of? i scratched the afra from the list

  • I might keep the Afra, that's the most beautiful one. If I were you I would mix yellow and blue (lab. caeruleus and maingano for instance). You could also set up a saulosi tank, then you have both in one.

  • Your tank is incredible. The fish look outstanding. Great work.

  • Mooie tank !

    hahaha

hij staat bij mij in huis !

    Gr. Laura

  • You´re absolutely right - they mainly eat fish, MAINLY. But in the big lake they also do eat some `green stuff ´ like their relatives the mubunas do it exceptionally! Kind of they grasp some stones ´by the way´ on the way for fish ;-))

  • maybe they are really a bit overfeed. Especially the venustus. That´s due to their eager to eat at first, isn´t it?? Pellets are ok, but maybe you replace them with spirulina, or green pellets only!! They also like to eat vegetarian!! Hope you like my advise! You are doing great apart from that!!!

  • I mainly have predators in my tank. Predators naturally mainly eat fish, that's why I don't feed them spirulina (apart from the portions in the pellets). I feed them mussels, shrimps, smelt, krill, artemia and red mosquitoe larves for 50% and for the other 50% pallets and protein granulates.

  • wow! love the bucco and fosso

  • awsome

  • What's the tank dimensions? How much was the background? Very well done! Looks very natural!

  • some nice looking specimens

  • Nice Tank Man!!!

  • Do you have females in there as well ? i heard they can interbreed. If you do have females which ones?

  • wonderful buccochromis!!

  • One of my favorites. Love this video

  • Stunning collection of haps

  • Hi, you have beautiful fish!

Could you name all the fish that you have in your tank please?

  • Hi Nakwhwani,

When you click on (more) you will

    get the complete fish list.

    Gr, Wietze

  • Beautiful fish!

Where di you get them? Are they from your local fish shop or imported?

Please let us know your supplier

    thanks

    Steve

  • I got the fish partly from Germany (Chiclidenstadl and Ems-vechte) and from a supplier in the Netherlands that is no longer in business. I also have a great many of my own offspring.

    regards, Wietze
