  • I drink alcohol, yet I think alcohol is a horribly destructive substance when abused. That said, you can take ANYTHING and turn it into a harmful substance / object when abused.

Marijuana is quite possibly the least harmful substance available that can be utilized as a vice, and that is a fact. This isn't about moral reasons; it's about lobbyist power grabbing and monetary gain by government agencies.

  • LEGALIZE IT NOW

  • i dont know about you guys but I like america having 28+ BILLION more dollars to spend per year. That is enough to repair every road and bridge in the country at least twice.

  • they all keep saying they don't want another dangerous drug in the market.. well, then they need to take down the other dangerous drugs too then! why leave those in the market? to us, it makes no sense but them making money and they don't want to lose that. shoot, if i were evil like them, which i can be, i know exactly what they are thinking.. as long as it's not me, dying, then i wouldn't give a damn if it's bringing home the meat for my selfish a-hoe and my family!!! sad.. too sad..

  • Making progress on our youth my ass... I've been smoking since I was 15 and now 16. You have not reduced usage at all amongst youth and decline addiction rates. In the end it really is about the money that lands in your greedy pocket. How long did our MPP respresentive get to speak? 20 seconds to 45 seconds then interrupted? That's bullshit. Keep shoving your false media in our faces and failing at what you've said your policy will do for the last 40+ years. It will only continue to fail.

  • Typical conservative douche bag. Start at a ridiculous assumption like that marijuana is a "harmful addictive drug" and start every sentence with "the fact is" and follow it up with moronic assertions that you just made up. You know, like "the fact is marijuana is harmful and addictive" "The Fact is marijuana use has gone down over the last 10 years" "The fact is decriminilation leads to higher use" Anyone notice how this fucktard doesn't cite ONE STATISTIC!

  • The MPP needs to start using the US Constitution and the harm principle as arguments: no act should be illegal unless it harms another's person or property without consent.

  • the only reason that cannabis would be a gateway drug would be that since it is illegal already, a person is forced to associate with the drug underworld/black market where there is also access to harder drugs along with marijuana. if cannabis were legalized then that criminal element would not be needed to associated with.

  • THE GOVERNMENT IS FUCKIN STUPID HARMFUL MY ASS I HAVE SMOKED WEED FOR 3 MONTHS NOW AND I HAVE GOOD GRADES I AM MORE CALM NOW LEGALIZE THAT SHIT. AS MRTJG420 SAYS U HAVE ACHOHOL CIGARRETTES PILLS ALL THESE OTHER EXPENSIVE AND HARMFUL ITEMS WHEN WEED CAN TAKE THAT PLACE AND BE LESS HARMFUL, AND IDK FUCK THE GOVERMENT.

  • LEGALIZE IT!!! FUCK THE GOVERNMENT!!! Alcohol an cigarrettes an pillz fuckin kill weed is my fucking life. Im tired of going to jail everytime i get stoped by the fucking pigz an then getting slapped with a big azz fine. Fuck the Government fuck cops an fuck a judge the only person who can judge me is god an he put pot on this earth so im going to smoke an eat it.

  • Medical experts say its harmful eh? I'd love to see Mr. Hutchinson watch The Union and then come back with that argument. Actually, that documentary falsifies almost every single one of his claims. The fact that a documentary that's about an hour long can put every anti-marijuana argument to rest really says something.

  • This kid is young, and doesn't seem to be quite as confident as other MPP members. That said, he still knew more about the topic than the cowboy DEA head haha

  • "choped up and made into marijuana" lol wut? it's always marijuana ya dummy, just dried and trimmed.

  • All these old people will die off soon enough and the younger, more educated people on the subject will replace them and legalize it. Hold tight, America. Legalization is on its way. Eventually.

  • asa - isnt it possible you've wasted your life?

  • waail. lemme tell ya it maykes so sayunse

  • wow, BS!! I'd like to see those plants in full bloom.

  • wow, BS!!

  • marijuana is not addicting its habit forming and it's not harmful

get your fact's right ass hole

  • If psychosis is the problem, getting rid of paranoia as a legal ramification of the complexity of law and freedom of desire in the noble citizen, the societal normalization of psychosis, would probably make psychosis due to drugs vanish like the chimera we almost all hope it to be.

  • What if we could agree that marijuana does infact sort of inflame the brain or imagination of inhibited free will through psychosis and the only medically challenging thing to focus on here is paranoia in the reactions of sober individuals accustomed to inflamed psychoactive imaginative reasoning but guilty about it. Normalize the paranoia of fantasizing out loud and create the laws necessary to inhibit paranoia and not the persons' social quality when psychiactively oversensitive. Fear no evil

  • "And the bud is what is actually taken off of the plant and chopped up and... made into marijuana."

nice... go back to college, stupid bitch.

  • Alright, you cliche liberals really NEED to educate yourselves about the true potential of Cannabis Sativa's THC. These brainwashed conservatives won't take, "the government can't control what we put in our bodies", or the "why drink and drive when you can smoke and fly?" things seriously. You need to rather say something akin to...

    Dr. Liu-"THC kills cancer cells"

Dr. Tashkin-"THC provides a protective effect"

Dr. Di Marzo-"THC exhibits anti-tumor effects on various cancer cell types"

  • LEGALIZE IT

  • Asa uses the same exact arguments every single time. And they are all bullshit

  • Those who use marijuana are usually in a drug environment, then it is easier to get other drugs like herion and cocaine.

But if we legalize marijuana, you could get it in stores so you do not need to come close to the people who want to sell you stronger substances.

And why should you be called a criminal and be thrown in jail for smoking a PLANT?!

They say that pot destroys teenagers, I think it destroy teenagers even more when there parents have to go to jail beacause the smoke pot.

  • aaron did a good job but he should have hit hard that marijuana is not a so called "gateway drug"

  • it shows you how much the average person knows about anything lol. she says "and the bud is whats actually taken off the plant, and chopped up, and made into marijuana". You dont MAKE marijuana. It just grows, which is why it shouldn't be considered a "drug".

  • juss legalize it .... =)

  • Marijuana is a plant. Who is anyone to outlaw a plant? Why would anyone want to obey such a ridiculous law? I thought the law was ridiculous when I was a kid. I still do now. Who is anyone to tell us what to do with our own bodies? There might as well be a law forcing us to eat only pesticide food and glazed donuts! We should all get downt to the point of "This is my fuckin' body, and I'll do whatever the fuck I want with it!!!!!!! Marijuana is a peaceful, loving, joyous, experience.

  • what the fuck they only gave aaron a 30 second rebutle to that DEA faggots 5 min statement which was completely false

  • "If you need tax revenues, that's not a good excuse to legalize a harmful and addictive product" oh excuse me, I guess the huge amounts of lobbying money that cigarette companies give congressmen like Mr. Asa Hutchinson, not to mention the billions in sales tax America makes from cigarettes, comes from a product that isn't harmful or addictive at all right?! it only kills hundreds of thousands every year. God, these people are hypocritical. Legalize!

  • Marijuana that is unregulated/black market could be laced with more addictive drugs like heroin, cocaine, angel dust or anything cheap/dangerous to dilute it.Taxing and regulating it would take it off the black market and be subject to FDA inspections for quality, especially if the tax rate is based on the THC content.

  • Lol. "We are making some progress in our youth to lower the usage of maryijuana"?

That a false fact. When i went to high school 2 years ago. i could get a bag of weed right there on the spot faster then i could get a cigarette..

Why would we keep americas #1 Cash crop illegal?

You see him almost break out and laugh when the Dea agent said that Drug use in teens has decreased 25%.. Lmao

  • Haha! she said " Made into marijuana" Asa Hutchinson is my favorite ignorant douche.

  • hey lets outlaw alcohol! oh wait we tryed that. prohibition doesnt work by making addiction a crime what are we really accomplishing? oh and decriminalization is different than legalization because when something is decriminalized its legal to have in your possession but not to sell. what do we expect it to magically appear out of thin air? cannabis is illegal because of the paper industry of the 1930's. not only would it replace a lot of medicine it would also replace tree's for paper.

  • Dumb anchor. It's not Drug Enforcement Agency. It's Drug Enforcement Administration.

  • As i former "drug" user.. I can honestly say that marijuana is only a gateway drug because it is ILLEGAL! After going to your guys house to buy a bag week after week and seing all of the other harder shit that they carry it starts to tempt you and then one day you show up and they are fresh out of weed but have something else so you try it out.. If it was legal to begin with you wouldn't even be exposed to the other shit.

  • @yesternow21 Exactly correct.

  • LMAO @ 3:23-3:27 he's lowkey faded hahaha!!!

  • for smoking a harmless plant.

Alcohol causes brain damage, fetal alcohol syndome, liver damage, kidney damage, heart damage, etc etc. ALL PROVEN. Weed SUPPOSEDLY causes all that (all disproven and false) and is STILL illegal, cigs kill 250k people a year, why is that legal and weed which, BY JUST ITSELF, ONLY SMOKING IT, WHILE NOT DRIVING, HAS NEVER KILLED A SINGLE PERSON.

  • ever started with just weed. People are gonna do drugs, trying to win the war on drugs is like winning a war on life, or pain, or fun. You cant win.

Asa lies over and over. He does nothing but compare marijuana to alcohol and tobacco and these stupid fucks can't realize that they are DIFFERENT DRUGS< THEY WORK DIFFERENTLY. They all work off different receptor systems for fuck sake, weed is unique. Hows this for a good reason. Freedom MAYBE? land of the fucking free, and I can get jailed

  • why the FUCK do these biased pieces of SHIT keep just focusing on the dickhead prohibitionists in EVERY single video like this?

fact: marijuana DOES NOT by any recent scientific study, cause cancer, brain damage, anger, infertility, or addiction to it or other drugs.

hows this for that fucking moronic gateway bullshit they always use.

ready....PEOPLE LIKE GETTING HIGH. Many, many more people first smoked alcohol, and then tried cigs, and then weed, and then other hard drugs, than anyone who

  • @patjgray67 hey man, i love smoking alcohol, light that shit up

  • @MickeyMcFlarin lol you got me. yeah i made a typo.

  • @patjgray67 lol sorry for being an ass about it.

  • hes a liar. more and more people smoke marijauna, it is so common now and accepted as part of our "real" culture. its in music, in movies, now its on the news and politicians are for it. how long can they keep lying? u can avoid the truth for some time, but eventually these liars will be exposed and have to face it. a lie can never become the truth.

  • And this moron said it himself, YES asswipe you would want to consentrate your efforts on drugs that are harmful and addictive like coc and meth. We spend 10 billion fighting just weed, not to mention all then people we put into prison and pay for too all the while 14 states say fuck you to the feds and Obama tells you to back off,. this is a no brainer people. I've smoked for 25 years, never been jailed, fired, got in accident, hurt anyone and grow my own living next door to a cop, LOL

  • harmful and addictive? where the hell is this morin getting his drug education from? Wake up old man, weed isnt going anywhere and this will be proven!

  • we should criminalize coca-cola, and fast food. thats harmful to our health.

  • @billmeis1 Absolutely this gave me a laugh.

  • LEGALIZE MARIJUANA

    I Love Weed <3

  • houston hardly said a word ( or any good solid points for that matter) in this interview...

  • The anti marijuana guy is an idiot. hes not saving anyone. besides the government prohibiting marijuana, it doesn't harm you in any way. I smoke weed everyday and it doesn't effect me at all. I have a 4.5 gpa in honors classes, i run varsity track, and im a happy person. Marijuana isn't a gateway drug, it doesn't make you go onto other drugs. Yourself makes you do meth, not marijuana. Marijuana doesn't hold a gun to your head and say swallow that pill, you choose to. SMOKE WEED EVERYDAY!!!

  • alchohol and nicotine what are they ? harmful addictive substances . this guy chats shit harmful my ass . cannabis is on the lower end of the drug harm scale and guess whats near the top alchohol and nicotine , its all bollocks alcohol is a gate way drug i know so many people who do cocain and other class A drugs when thier drunk as a skunk . i know proper cannabis users who just smoke weed and not other drugs .

  • aren't alcohol and tobacco harmful products??? YES THEY ARE, why don't we make those products illegal and ban it

  • Marihuana hasnt been legalized in the Netherlands since it never was illegal. People have been using it since 3000 vC. In the US, it became illegal in the US in 1937 out of paranoia. And have things really improved since then?

Times are changing faster and faster. Older people dont have the time anymore to follow up.

  • Haha, way to quote Reagan. Nothing stops a conservative in his track like a relevant Reagan quote.

  • Im sick of the lies. Im also pissed the cut Aaron off.

I think hellla shit will be seen differently if Cali legalizes it YEEEE

  • here we have another one.. an old man thats either to fucking dumb and blind to see the truth and therefore does not deserve to live imo OR an old man with a single goal, to corrupt and to control and to spread infectious lies throughout the nation, which even is more of a reason to get him and people like him put to rest.. i mean, isnt it more humane to kill a sick and injured animal then to let it live?

  • this guy is stupid he says weed is addictive and harmful, 2 lies. and that the use of it has gone down. another lie. and teens will smoke it wether they like it or not. the more people that are brung into this world the more that are goin to smoke.

  • darkenvy10 the next time u quote sombody else u should give them credit...everything u just said was statements made by Joe Rogen in the documentary The Union: The Buisness Behind Getting High...

  • what i dont like about this guy is he allways in every vid that is see him in he alllways makes a point to put marijuana and meth and coke togeather and they are 2 extreamly dif thing and about the gateway thing thats like saying because i drink now it allstarted because i started drinking milk when i was a kid and its not an addicive thing i mean u can abuse it but shit u can abouse chese burgurs and if u smoke pot for a mounth and stop u will notice some difrences but its not physicly addicti

  • What Hutchinson fails to mention is that meth and coke are schedule 2 drugs and therefore available by prescription. With cannabis being schedule 1 would that not imply that coke and meth lead to cannabis and not vice versa? What lies.

  • Asa keeps bringing the point of that marijuana and drug use has declined over the years. These statistics are provided through court cases and surveys. Teenagers are not likely to answer "Yes" on a drug survey, and they are finding different ways of smoking without getting caught drug use is consistently steady over the years. Its funny how government officials will bring up heroin and hard drugs when their employer supports the creation of synthetic drugs.

  • Asa is delusional!!!! I wonder where he lives??!!!

  • I thought that the main reason Alaska changed it's marijuana laws was because the U.S. gov. tolde them that if they didnt, they would no longer recive money to fix and mantain the roads, and highways in Alaska?

  • Probably. I wouldn't doubt it. That's just America's government.

  • Iam a proud user ical marijuana... iam a liscenced user and support marijuana in every way and form... it hepls with my pain my deppresion my eating habits and just makes me happy ....i see the better things in life, other than my injury .... these prescription drugs make you a walking zombie and make you feel like shit .... although the pills have their benifets i find marijuana more effective and usefull... i can go on and on about this but it will take to long ...i hope yu guys get the point

  • first of all if we lived in a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC, whitch we dont because theyve convinced everyone that its a democracy, we wouldnt need to get a licence(permission) to smoke CANNIBIS(marijuana is a made up word) because its your RIGHT to do whatever you want to do with your body, belongings, and land. as long as you dont hurt anyone else in the process. we have bocome cowards letting the government(whitch derives its powers from the governed) to tell us we need permission.

  • They need to get Ron Paul to talk to Asa about marijuana. Ron Paul will put Asa in his place. When will people like Asa wake up and see that marijuana prohibition is whats causing the problem? Marijuana is a hell of a lot safer than these prescription drugs that are constantly shoved down people's throat. How ofter do you see commercials from law firms wanting to sue on the behalf of families that have lost loved ones due to prescription med side effects? Never see that from marijuana.

  • excatly. oh and it whas the one of the first recorded medicines. oh and the seeds have the most nutritional value than anyother seed and you can make anything from paper to clothes with the fiber from the plant, and it basically has a million uses.

  • Who's the asian chick ? lol

  • harmful product? ANYONE who has read in their newspaper that some young teen died of an overdose of marijuana... lemme see it.. lol.. cuz itz never happend.. and never will.. dumbasses.

  • Also anyone ever take in the fact that if you have narcolepsy, obesity and ADHD you can get prescribed medicinal methamphetamine, made by pharmaceutical companies. You can get this in any state in the union but some states are still arresting medicinal marijuana patients. Clearly these people care about people getting addicted to hard drugs.

  • I'd like them to sight the argument of social revolution. I know they can't outwardly state on television that marijuana is clearly less harmful and addictive than cigarettes and alcohol and that more often than not those are the stepping-stones that get people into harder drugs. But could they not show the fact that the attitudes of most people are changed and that they aren't ravenous addicted fiends (usually addicted people feel trapped and aren't so positive about their "habit").

  • Marijuana is as harmful as my sperm.. My sperm is a class a narcotic when it gets in womens faces they get addicted. My sperm should be outlawed

  • Thank God I'm an american and NOT a US statute bound "US CITIZEN"

  • Its not addictive unless the person has an addictive behavior to begun with, i know this first hand within my family.

  • this conversation is 4 against 1. "asa makes a powerful argument"? "we're saving lives"? "it's a harmful product"? how many times does hutch say "i think?" aaron gets interupted at "10th graders" with "UM asa why dont you respond to that?" reduced drug use by 50% we're arguing about marijuana, not all drugs, right? so wtf. those who use marijuana are more likely to use cocaine and methamphetamines. ask any pothead if he wants to do any drugs besides weed.
  • what an asa-hole. nothing he says is true and this broadcast fiasco is only meant to make cannabis and its supporters look stupid. the gov/t and any "agencies" should have NO BUSINESS interfering with our lives. its a plant, not a pharmaceutical, and that's why they dont want it legal. the psychiatrists want to medicate america with THEIR drugs and they make weed and chinese herbs look dumb on tv so that the idiot box sways public opinion.

dont ever get your facts from television.

  • Thats the problem with law enforcement making these debates. They see that we've got 25% of the worlds incarcerated and only 5% of the worlds population and they think that means they're making progress.

  • @jasdunlil Amen brother.

  • EVERY single point that Asa made is completely wrong and the fact that none of it was commented on blows my mind.

Show me one FACT that smoking pot is as harmful as smoking cigarrettes or alcohol consumption OR that it's PHYSICALLY addictive OR that BY ITSELF has ever EVER -by itself- in the history of man lead to death or cancer OR that it's use leads to the "gateway" drug theory because there is significant evidence that can prove that nonsensical crap WRONG.

    LEGALIZE MARIJUANA.

  • I tottally 100% agree they say Marijuana is a gateway...ummm wrong its been proven that alcohol is the gateway drug not marijuana because just about everybody started drinking before smoking, and anybody that says marijuana can lead to harder drugs is full of crap because thats there chose Ive been smoking for 12 years now and Ive not went to harder drugs.

    legalize

    tax it

    regulate it.

Our DEA has got shit fucking backwords those dumb fucks!!!!

  • @Kennedyiskrazy Completely untrue.

Anything is a gateway if you're an idiot lemming. I smoke weed, ALL the time. I've never done cocaine, ecstasy, or any other drug.

I don't drink alcohol on a regular basis, and recently quit cigarettes. I'll tell you one thing, you need to do your research. Not a single recorded death has ever been recorded in 10,000 years of cannabis use. Ever.

Read a book, instead of wikipedia. Smoking cigarettes is more of a gateway than cannabis. Period.

  • Dude no shit what the fuck are you talking everything I said was true I said the exact same thing you did retard

  • @Kennedyiskrazy Oh, sorry. Next time I'll use my online sarcasm detector to decipher your shitty typing. Grow up kid.

  • OMG dude your the biggest fucking dumb ass I have ever messaged to, I made it tottaly obvious in that comment that there was nothing wrong with marijuana that the true gateway drug was alcohol. And dude Fuck you Im 25 years old you fucking retard. You need to get some common sinse and you need to get it fast!!!!!

  • @Acidiclinguist

Im pretty sure Kenndyiskrazy made is point quite clear...regardless stop taking out ur anger on pro-marijuana advocates and start pushing for moral justice from these fascist creeps that run our country

  • @JordyWasHere I am a conservative and I AGREE WITH YOU, and Asa was FULL OF CRAP here. Marijuana use is being reduced? My ass. The Dutch hardly smoke pot. He's an ass.

  • @JordyWasHere MARIJUANA HAS KILLED PEOPLE NOT IN THE PLANT ITSELF BUT IN THE LAWS PROHIBITING IT

  • @JordyWasHere if your high you might think im against but im against it being illegal

  • Haha, I just went to the Netherlands in October, there were signs everywhere showing the statistics of drug users and incarcerations in various countries, they were amongst the lowest in both drug users and incarcerations.

America was the highest in both. We so many people being locked up that its being privatized, companies are making money on people going to jail. Which is horrible to think about in America.

    You could say its evil.

  • Ask who benefits from keeping pot illegal.

Ask who suffers from making pot legal.

  • Marijuana is illegal in order to give people like Asa a job. Instead of actually doing something productive he can make lots of money by stealing it from marijuana users via asset forfeiture.

  • I love Aaron. But we need a more convincing spokesperson.

  • Asa Hutchinson (Bob Jones University alum): "If you need tax revenues that is not a good excuse to legalize a harmful and addictive product."

So if marijuana was not harmful nor addictive, it would be a good idea?

Wait a minute... marijuana IS harmless, with a range of side effects that pales in comparison to aspirin, alcohol, nicotine and even sugar. Cannabis used to be added to medications. There has never been a marijuana overdose.

  • its ilagalization with out representation

  • that guys says that marijuana is less available...

hahaha!! come on, that no one believes it...

years ago, you could go and get your usual low grade, a bit pricey compared to now... but nowadays, you have a whole variety to choose from, low, mids, exotic strains, and all that in a highschool...

saying the prohibition is working is completely retarded. and that less teens are using it too!!

  • I'm sick of these ten minute debates, they need to get a representative of MPP in the same room with a DEA rep and have a long debate, so we they can properly discuss the subject without being rushed or interrupted.

  • I totally agree, this is ridiculous... even my grandma knows more about pot. I can't believe what nonsense the DEA cook to defend themselves.

  • Asa is incorrect to say that the cartels would simply deal in harder substances to replace marijuana. There is no other illegal substance that has the demand that marijuana has. Marijuana is the #1 cash crop in the nation and 15 million people use it a month. No other substance has that kind of demand and therefore the cartels would never be able to find a substance to replace the revenue they make from marijuana. Legalize marijuana and 66 to 75 percent of their income is cut off.

  • Government just makes money off of it... In the late 60's they went to war in Nam for opium... And sold it on the street as Heroine... Then cracked down on people to make more money and get their product back to sell it again... Then their buddies get paid tax payers money to imprison them like slaves through contracts. Then those contract holders make money off the inmates as slaves for pennies on the dollar... Doesn't anyone else see this trend. Boston Tea Party was for shit like this!!!!

  • Asa Hutchison apparently was a longtime acquaintance of Barry Seal.

    watch?v=2KNTrjG_1j4

My guess is that he knows a lot more about the CIA-DEA drug connection than he is saying.

  • It's funny how the anchor says " I don't want to be HERETICAL"

The Drug War is actually a RELIGION!!!!!!!!

Something as wasteful and immoral as the Drug War can only survive on FAITH!!!!!!

  • Right, and he also said "Marijuana has been illegal forever". It was of course criminalized in 1937, by the same alcohol warriors who had just become unemployed.

  • fuck u asa...bullshit lies dangerous and adicttive,,what bullshit,that guy knows nothing about cannabis,hes a fuckin moron.legalize it

  • ASA: Redneck idiot.

  • NONE

  • Its not about drugs, do you think the government really cares if people smoke pot. Its about keeping us desensitized to government control.

  • Question: How many people has marijuana killed?

  • 0 (zero)

  • 9 MILLION!!!!111!!!!!

  • OVER 9000!!

no, but really, in 5,000 years . ZERO

  • what a fucking retard 50% less drug use maybe because he's smoking that 50% or the 50%are in jail .....steping stone drug wtf jerking off leads to sex .kool aid leads to beer etc.........pill makers have stepping stones to only they are our headstones pills kill atleast 150.000 people a year

  • ASA: is a redneck retard. , love that southern hillbilly accent

  • "Gateway drug"... what a hypocritical agrgument in a country that has legal cigarettes, and alcohol.

"Harmful drug"... another weak argument. How many drug commercials do you see in a day where the side effects warnings are longer than the rest of the ad?

90% of all statistics are made up on the spot. (<= like that one) We need to stop letting stats make our decisions for us and start using common sense.

  • i bet the only reason drug use declined 25% is because the people were all on probation for marijuana posession and couldnt use pot for fear of jail time due to piss testing.

  • Great video and a wonderful job by Asa

  • wonderful hand job

  • It is time to legalize cannabis in this country. The prohibition causes far more harm than the plant. Even under the threat of arrest, tens of millions of American's have broken marijuana laws. You'd be hard-pressed to find a person who doesn't know SOMEONE who is a regular user of cannabis. It's a safe bet that that person is an otherwise law-abiding, peaceful, tax-paying citizen. Contact your representative and ask them to support pending legislation to legalize cannabis. Now.

  • i love the talk about teens using drugs. legalizing would do much more than they ever could.

  • i have been smoking weed for 13 years and yes i have tried other drugs but never like them and i still smoke weed and i work and take care of my little girl and pay taxes

  • ohhh shit i just saw Asa Hutchinson got his ass handed by him by a MPP man on some other debate srry i forgot look in related videos for it

  • we need to pitch it to the drug companies as they will also receive profits from it and by the way they have more money to pay lobbyists plus their control on the government through their contributions to the economy will make the difference, Gov't officials are obviously siding with the drug companies, might they be receiving compensation to overseas accounts under created identities? i wouldnt completely doubt it some of these drug companies are out of the country.

  • looking at it from their point of view I will make far more money getting people addicted to synthetic drugs which have many side effects and require other medication to counter act the side effects of the drug that may be combating one's only illness now multiplies revenue significantly within their limited and increasing market.

  • they totaly cut off the mpp guy

  • sugar is the gateway drug

water is bad for you if its too much

    stop terrorism .....grow your own

    dont buy it grow it

big drug companys dont want you to grow your own

    back yard painkillers

  • I think people are looking at this the wrong way. the "War on Drugs" is a legitimate war - but too much money is devoted to cracking down on the benign use of marijuana, when efforts should be devoted to preventing the proliferation of more harmful drugs like coke, speed, and heroine.

  • It is not a gateway drug . the gateway arguement is another case of using numbers to draw a conclusion that isnt linked to the specific question at hand. Its like saying it causes people to commit suicide because there are people who have committed suicide who had marijuana in their system,The fact is marijuana use was symptomatic not the cause ,just like the gateway effect , its not causative ,its a by product of having to buy from people who also deal in crack and other drugs.

  • It's like saying Milk is a gateway drug to alcohol.

  • Why do they always run out of time!?

Can't they just invite a bunch of people who are willing to debate the issue and then allow them time to talk and get their point across!?

The MPP guy was starting to make a point and then he was interrupted, there was fast music, "hey I'm sorry, we have 5 people, they all wanna say stuff, but we only got some minutes to spare so be brief!"

What followed this segment? The fucking wheather?

  • "Then you turn it (the bud) into marijuana"

    That is marijuana dumb bitch.

  • This Asa Hutchinson guy is a complete douche, his southern accent only emphasises his scientific ignorance and I can imagine his puritanical tendencies.

    Weed is NOT addictive.

    Weed is NOT dangerous.

    Weed has immense medical benefit

And the War on Marijuana is a huge waste of money, a waste that the USA cannot afford right now.

Its a fucking plant, a flowering plant that makes me feel awesome and make my life more enjoyable. It should be legal around the world.

  • the whole gateway argument is complete bullshit!

think about it. who do you have to go to when you want to buy weed? that's right, a DRUG DEALER! who can make a lot more $ if you decided to get some cocaine instead.

now lets say you can get your weed at a tobacco store.

what are the odds that the cashier is going to try to push hard drugs on you then? pretty fucking slim!

lets see how much of a "gateway drug" pot would be if we cut the drug dealer out of the equation.

  • Alaska DECIMINALIZED marijuana, they did not legalize it. There is a HUGE difference. decriminalizing a drug just makes it so you dont go to jail for it, legalization means its taxed, regulated, and sold in a store, away from children!

  • call 973-409-3274 legalize weed only need a million votes pass the number on!!!

  • People who are committed to make bad decisions and damage themselves by becoming drug addicts will do it whether or not marijuana exists. Prescription and over the counter drugs are good enough to get a future drug addict started.

  • its ur own responsibility to not get into something that controls your life such as harder drugs

    legalize

  • The drug dealer is the gateway. If it were legal people wouldn't have to deal with people who are happy to sell you harder drugs.

  • MARIJUANA IS NOT ADDICTIVE OR HARMFUL, you idiiots need to get your facts straight.

  • even if marijuana IS addictive it would not be the only or the worst addictive drug on the market.

  • This Hutchinson jackass went to fucking Bob Jones University and was director of the DEA! Goddamn, I'm glad Bush is out of office. There was no limit to the amount of religious conservative idiots he would appoint to very powerful offices. So long, Bushie, you wannabe redneck jagoff!!

  • This Hutchinson moron doesn't make any distinction between marijuana and actual drugs.

  • How can the anti-legalization people get away with lying so much? Why wasn't Aaron calling him out on his lies?

  • I agree he should have been interrupting him just like all the anti-marijuana douchebags do. He at least could of said that is has been proven that tobacco and alcohol are more harmful than marijuana, both in short time users and long time users. Hutchinson is absolutely ridiculous calling marijuana a harmful drug knowing that he is probably lighting up a cigar in his mansion after this interview.

  • i think he wanted to look more professional.

the problem with this issue, is there are too many facets to it. debates focus solely on health or money issues. and there are too many perceptions to it.

people need to sit down with a clean slate and look at everything honestly.

  • ITS NOT ADDICTING

  • the fact is obviously tobacco and alcohol are much worse for your health that marijuana...and the country could make billions per year by legalizing marijuana and taxing it, as well as save billions of dollars from not having to fight it

  • sorry i just watched this again and aaron got his ass whipped... he did not say shit, MPP u guys outta yank this vid,it dont help our cause much that old fuck asa got too many licks in against us.

  • we would have been better off with bruce mirken here

aaron still did well but it seems like he is a little green ..bruce would have hit a home run here

  • He talks about the usage in Alaska raised when they legalized it. He sees it as a problem. But excuse me, whats the problem? I dont see a problem. Rather smoke marijuana than alchohol.

Can you be physical addicted to alchohol? Yes.

Can you be physical addicted to marijuana? No

Alchohol is more harmful than marijuana, thats a fact! So instead of putting marijuana in to the hard drugs "group", put the nasty alchohol in there. No need for that when we got marijuana!

  • also, another likely cause of marijuana increasing in alaska during the 70s could have been because it was just the 70.

but w.e, correlation is not causation in both cases. Coulda just been alot of good drug dealers coming to the state, no one knows.

  • makes no sense first of all.......

  • Reaally your not serving any purpose by legalizing it to reduce crime ?

Honestly it would take that much revenue away from the thugs and gangsters and give it to the government.

Well anyways till that im sorry that my hard earned tax dollers go into fighting such a non lethal drug.

GO after the cocaine the heroine THE CRACK ESPECIALLY.

  • thanks to the US Govt.,Mexican drug lords recieve american made guns and amunition about 90% of their guns come from the US..... please stop fueling crime and legalize weed .... stop discriminating pot smokers all around the world.... STOP FUELING CRIME IN MY COUNTRY !!!!!

  • It's inconsequential that most potsmokers favor legalization because they like to smoke pot. The fact that it could be grown for paper instead of cutting down forests, used for medicine instead addictive narcotics, feed the hungry, reduce greenhouse gases, boost the economy, reduce violent crime dramatically, provide an alternative to cotton and synthetic fibers, reduce alcohol abuse, be used as a source of "green fuel" in an age of global warming...

...I'm running out of space here...

  • hallelujah

  • here is the basic logic: if you want to reduce the crimes for marijuana, then dont make it a crime to have it. seriously, these bush administration nitwits are ok with 2 products, tobacco and alcohol, killing hundreds of thousands, while marijuana has killed none. marijuana, harmful? i think not

  • Marijuana is neither a harmful or addictive drug. I would go along with his theory if there were any merit. However there is not,Unfortunately or fortunately, whichever way you look at it, there is no evidence that marijuana is harmful in any way, shape or form. I have done extensive research, and according to science and documentation, there has never been one single death related to marijuana. so the fear factor is the only thing the dea has to go on. PATHETIC! Asprin has killled more. ha!

  • The only merit in this 'Gate-way Theory' is that yes you are going to 'drug-dealers' for your simple bag of plants. So of course sooner or later you are going to be tempted to try harder shit or be an idiot yourself and ask for it, because of the enviorenment uv put urself in. This is all the result of making it illegal in the first place -.-... stupid Govt lies.

  • eventually your drug dealer says sorry dude im out of pot but ive got some coke/meth/heroine/pills

pot itself is not the gateway, the fact that its illegal and you have to deal with people trying to peddle illegal substances is the gateway

  • 36 BILLION

    according to government data...

and they have no idea how much there really is..

we would bet out of our national debt in 2 years.. or less.. if every state was farming and making everything that can be made from this ONE ANSWER plant..

    THE PLANT is the ANSWER

    FREE THE TREE

  • Never trust numbers from Asa Hutchinson. He has a hidden agenda.

Does it surprise you that republican Asa Hutchinson's personal bank account is enriched by his firm Venable LLP which receives Federal DHS funds (your tax dollars)?

Never mind his near cover-up by not disclosing his finances with Fortress American Holdings. He hates the 'liberal media.' I wonder why.
