@MegaBossman2000 One step at a time kiddo. I'm assuming MEPS is for the ASVAB. Don't forget: there's a LOT of time between then and boot camp, lots of room for you to get DQ'd from DEP.
i still remember my entire bootcamp and how tough it was every time i see someone graduate it means a lot to me because thats probably the most memorable graduation i'll ever have!
@dickhouseinc No prob. Don't worry, I was in the military and it took me forever to learn all the different uniforms of the Corps. Between them and the phonetic alphabetic, I thought I was studying for the Bar Exam, lol
@okayidontknowman Gotcha. I never realized the Corps was that different in the Recruit Depots. I thought uniformity was a big thing. All the Hollywood Marines I served with and I'm just now finding out about this. Maybe I just wasn't paying attention
@AirsoftTEEN I'm not sure if this is 100 percent accurate, but I believe those recruits graduating in the warmer months would wear their Service "B"s or Service "C"s depending on the severity of the heat. With that, I guess the guides and honor grads would wear the Dress Blue "C"s or "D"s, or at least that's what I would hope. I'd hate to have to wear that heavy blouse in 100 degree weather while marching across a black-top parade deck. One word for that - MISERABLE!
@AirsoftTEEN Oops, I wasn't completely clear on what I was trying to say. Yes, the guides and honor grads in my graduating class got to wear their Dress Blues (a big deal I remember, because they got Blue Dress "A" Blouse for free while all the other graduates had to purchase theirs once they checked in with their respective fleet unit) . At Parris Island, however, the remainder of the "new" Marines had to wear the Olive Service "A"s. I graduated in the winter.
@mr1371 Well I just went to a Boot Camp graduation at MCRD San Diego in April and the "new" Marines were wearing Blues. Obviously April was just 7 months ago, so I'm not sure.
I got chills hearing "You have earned yourself the title as a United States Marine"
Can't wait until I hear those same words.
