You played this fairly well, you will find the original Down In the Deep Cellar a little more challenging with a lot higher range is required with a lot of Eb;s F and G above middle C.
Watch your accuracy, Your low register was very good on sustained pedal Eb'S
You should do well playing the tuba, and to see you playing BBb
The version I play must be edited slightly different to yours :)
Nice sound on that horn, I reckon the end of the intro (top of page 2 on mine) could stand to be a lot more dramatic, but that's just my opinion. Good stuff!
Thanks! That's not the C tuba, though. There would be no way I could play Down in the Deep on C at that point in time.
My mom also wants to give the BBb back to Gordon College. So now not only do I want to learn C, but I have to! Because if I don't I will be decimated by the conductor at BYSO camp!

I have both the original and the Kelley Diamond.
I performed the original back in 1957 as a guest soloist
with the SAC Headquarters Command Band in Omaha NE.
I performed in on a King BBb sousaphone, which was fine.
They are both good arrangements.

What Kind of Tuba is that? A Yamaha or Mienl Weston, etc...?

That one is a Yamaha, I bought a Rudolf Meinl 3/4 right after the camp.

You sound great John! See, C tuba isn't so hard!
Keep that sound up front,
