  • Tis such a beautiful film!!

  • i love this movie!!!

  • i so love this movie....

  • I've been waiting for my Elise forever. I know she is out there somewhere in time.

  • All she had to do was to warn him about the penny in his pocket since she had the chance to do so before he goes back in time. Since she already knew that he haven't gone back to time yet, so why didn't she warn him about that pocket and tell him not to look in it? She could have made a different if she had warn him.

  • @vanthiectu Then the old woman wouldn't of needed to give him the pocket watch which started the quest for him to go back in the first place. It's like the back to the future movies. In the second one.. Why did he need to go to the future to save his kid from a crime he had yet to commit? Why not warn Marty not to let his kid leave the house on that day in the future.. But I see what your saying. No matter how many times I see this. I always hope he won't look in his pocket!!!

  • This is one of the most incredibly romantic and sad movies of all time. Yes a movie. But who of us would not give everything to be in his place regardless of the outcome.

  • This Movie is Sale in this year?

  • This is my most favorite movie in my life

  • i keep watching this every so often....as a child, i never saw what my Mum saw in this film....now I am Mum, ad I understand totally :) xx

  • This movie made me fall in loe with Jane Seymour, Sergei Rachmaninoff and John Bary. All at once.

I actually bumped into Jane Seymour only days after watching this movie for the first time. I was the first at the gate to board a plane, and she was the last to leave that plane. We stood there for just a few seconds, completely alone.

I was nailed to the floor, couldn't say a thing and never forgot that moment.

  • I agree ... that is such a killer beginning ... "Come back to me!" Only two actors with real talent could pull up so much emotion and intensity with such a brief scene! It's my favorite in all the world, for very personal reasons. :)

  • @BuckNekkid3000 - I will never understand the unaccomplished critic. Have you ever made a feature film? Have you ever written a script that was made into a movie? Have you ever composed music that doesn't use autotune or an "acoustic version" of some rap song? On what authority do you speak to have an opinion at all when it comes to something where you have no valid or credible accomplishments?

  • I could watch this film over and over again . .. to be THAT deeply in love to wait your whole life for your one true love is nothing short of amazing xxx EVERYONE would love to have that feeling ,of being deeply in love , its amazing when you get hit by cupid let me tell you :Dxx

  • love this one by rachmaninoff

  • thanks a lot!! for this video..

  • LOL @ 5:39 the day after that, my older brother was born! :D

  • That is true love. She really fell hard for him, to wait there her whole life...for him to come back is heart breaking.

  • Thanks for posting this!

But...I'm amazed that You Tube hasn't taken it down--how did you escape their censors???

  • @dsmbear any film before 1980 is safe

  • I so love this movie. It was on the morning . How ironic. Jane was so on time is movie. She truly looked her best.

  • Check out a book entitled, "Memoirs of Elise" written by David L. Gurnee.

  • At 6:00 he is contemplating life...

  • Sergi Rachmanninoff was touched by God when he composed the 18th variation to the Rhapsody.... most romantic melody ive ever heard

  • I really love this film despite the flaws.

The bad: Christopher Reeve's uneven acting and the ludicrous premise.

The good: Jane Seymour, Christopher Plummer, the lighting and of course the one thing that brings us all here...the music. If it weren't for the unforgettable and evocative theme, the film would not have nearly as many fans.

  • If you've nver seen this, please take the time to dim the lights and get very comfortable to watch my all time favorite movie. And generally, I dont like romantic movies. But this, this is diffrent. It has everything. Time travel, the greatest romance in the history of cinema, the hotel, the bell hop :) There all here. Never a dull moment in the special, special movie.

Simply, if you dont like this, you dont have a soul in my book. Enjoy.

  • the most emotional best quote ever "come back to me"

  • @ElChe354 Yes. One of my favorite romantic lines "come back to me" and the one from Last of the Mohicans..."You stay alive! I will find you. No matter what happens, I will find you!"

  • @criznueve

i have never seen that movie but i heard it was good lol i think its crazy how this movie is like.everything falls into place by accident and it was always just destined to happend

  • Thank U for uploading this. After reading the original novel, I've been wanting to see the movie. I really like it.

  • When I first say this movie back in the early to mid 80s it struck me as a very remarkable love story.

  • Thanks for uploading this GEM, blueblade. :) We are ever GREATFUL..:)

  • @Andy8519 * GRATEFUL LOL sorry

  • @0RobPatz4Eva0 You have??? I bet that was really neat. :)

  • @0RobPatz4Eva0 I know...Me too! :( Sad, but happy, but sad..:'(

  • @0RobPatz4Eva0 I absolutely agree! Rob Pattinson is cool. I think Twilight's okay. The music on there was great, as I recall...His stuff was great! It's good to know I'm not the only one who loves this movie! I think it's now my favorite movie. :) I don't know if this'll help, but you can get it at (product placement here LOL) Wal-Mart in the $5 movie section for five bucks. :) (Hopefully they're still available where you live. If not, you can get it on Amazon for just a little more. :)

  • i remember i watched this movie only once and about 15 years ago. It was beautiful but sad

  • An ex-girlfriend and I saw this movie in St. Cloud, MN when it hit the screen in 1980. Iy was such a romantic time for us. Still bring tears to my eyes thinking about it........

  • @lcr1955 That's pretty damn cool. :) It was released four years before I was born! Probably one of the most romantic if not the most romantic movie ever made.

  • There's William H. Macy at 2:24 (Fargo, The Cooler)

  • @cinerama62 I'll be damned that is amazing. I've seen other people claim he was in this film but they never pointed out where. That's hilarious lol.

  • @Rushthatspeaks That is hilarious. I'll have to go back and look at it again. LOL

  • @cinerama62 That's insane! I've seen this movie five times, and I never noticed! LOL

  • @Andy8519 ive seen it 27 times!

  • 1980

  • what year was it the movie was made? anyone??

  • Thank you so much for uploading this. I first saw this about 20 years ago on TV and it automatically became one of my most favorite films ... despite the fact that I had missed the first 20 to 25 minutes. Over the years I have seen it about 5 times, each time missing the 1st 25 mins or so! Tonight the curse struck again, but now we have youtube and thanks to you I have now just got to see the 1st 25 mins of this splendid film 20 years on! Thank you thank you thank you - I love this film!

  • christopher reeves is soo handsome! love this movie and the soundtrack

  • This was absolutely one of the sappiest, corniest films I've EVER seen! Unbelievable how many people go in for this kinda stuff. Just amazing. Not a bad film but corny as all get out. Sorry, but C.R. just wasn't very compelling as an actor. It's ok...bring on the hate mail.

  • @BuckNekkid3000

it IS very corny now that we c the movi in hindsight, but @ the time it was released i bet the fans thought it was pretty original and thought christopher reeves was the shit

  • @giselejames it IS very corny now that we c the movi in hindsight, but @ the time it was released i bet the fans thought it was pretty original and thought christopher reeves was the shit

No, it's not "corny" (which is a word generally used only by low-brows). It's just that a lot of people have become so accustomed to superficial trash, they no longer have the ability to appreciate something with depth (or something that actually causes them to think).

  • @BuckNekkid3000 This was absolutely one of the sappiest, corniest films I've EVER seen! Unbelievable how many people go in for this kinda stuff. Just amazing. Not a bad film but corny as all get out. Sorry, but C.R. just wasn't very compelling as an actor. It's ok...bring on the hate mail.

No, that's not the problem--the problem is that you're shallow & superficial. (Generally, anyone who uses the terms "corny" or "cheesy" is shallow; from you're remarks, it's clear that you're no exception.)

  • @TruthTellert63 such a hard man who hides behind intell self ,who prob has never been in love or who is afraid to express his own feelings ,im straight but not ashamed to say it struck a few cords ,it would be nice in this hard world of ours if people got along a bit better and maybe call me the romantic in me might bring back some of the romance between man and woman which i feel is lost

  • This film may not have been a blockbuster in the US but was a big success in such countries like China and Brazil. I can't understand why if a film bombs in the US it's considered a "box office failure" even though it succeeded in other countries. Let's first wait and see how a film does internationally before we draw such conclusions.

  • The dialogue in this movie is absolutely terrible, but there's just something about this film that makes you want to watch it again and again. Maybe it's the ever-watchable Jane Seymour, maybe it's the music that is a bit in-your-face but nevertheless emotional. A better movie than it actually is worthy of, but still...

  • R.I.P. Superman What a wast of a life...Life is cruel some times....

  • @HELLO2YOU3

Given the circumstances.. I don't think you can find a life, that was more well lived & inspiring, than the one this man lived.

  • @marchomeslice True but to me its still a wast just from a bloody fall from a horse.

  • @HELLO2YOU3 I hear ya.. no worries.

  • R.I. P John Barry-This is one of the finest ever film scores.

  • hey thankks for uploading this movie.. i wasnt born yet when this movie was filmed got curious about the movie .. hehe

  • Thank you for posting this. I've always loved this movie....so well made and brilliantly acted!

  • Absolutely one of the most romantic movies Ever! Pure genious. One of my top favorite movies tied w/ the Love Letter & For All Time. Christoper Reeves, Jane Seymour, Christoper Plummer & Cast were Brillant! This movie is more precious than the finest gem. The more I watch it the more it Enchants me. Lord, I hope I'll have the opportunity to read "Bid Loves Return" someday. I have the cut version on VHS, but it is no match for the full version. Thank you for having it here! Peace be with you!

  • @outerspaceoutpost

    "Bid Loves Return"?

Do you mean the book "Bid Time Return" by Richard Matheson?

  • @Knossos22 "OOPS!" You are right. I guess a brain cell faltered on me. Thanks. God Bless & Peace be with you.

  • I love this movie, first time I watched was 15 years ago and still my favorite :)

  • beautiful movie...THANKS!

  • This movie is a gem, a piece of jewlery. One of the best movies ever made.

  • A dream film if ever there was one. Let yourself go and you'll have a wonderful time.

  • The most romantic movie i have ever seen, you can see it over & over, you'll never get tried of seeing it.

  • saw this on tv as a kid since I wasn't born yet when this hit the cinemas. The first time I saw Jane Seymour here, I was starstruck. She is so elegantly gorgeous. This is one amazing romantic movie.

  • When I saw her in Lassiter, and her laying on the bed with her naked butt I went bonkers. Seymour was stunning back then. And she has aged very well. I think it is attributed to Good marriage, same husband forever. Not too famous so not so much self loathing and stress, and she pretty much kept her work on the back burner after Dr Quinn. She was a heartbreaker. And her butt was delicious.

  • MERCI MERCI MERCI

  • I'm sooooo happy you have this on here! YAY, thank you!!

  • Can`t wait to watch this movie again, great music as well.

  • This is probably my all time favourite Love films. I believe in Love still. I looked into the eyes of l Love once, and I will never forget .

  • somewhere in time

  • This part and time period are custom made for Jane Seymour. There are rumors of this movie being remade..Who would play Richard & Elise?

  • @xpoppiox God no, say it isn't so! It ain't broke, and it doesn't need to be fixed!

  • @xpoppiox there's this richard collier, a black football player, who got shot and is apparently paralyzed.

  • very much like another film of the same release date-

THE PROMISE - about a young couple who vow never to seperate-

Until she is disfigured by a auto accident, & his Mother bribes her

to go away with a new "face" and a new Identity

  • @rentatrip1 Is this movie on youtube?

  • jane seymour you are the best and most beautiful actrees and woman in the world nobody LIKE YOU,,,

  • good bye, superman ;-(

  • xxoo

  • A romantic movie set in a time before the spoils of the 20th century hit us hard.

  • too bad c. reeves is dead

    he was a underrated actor

    love the soundtrak

  • @alexaadap I thought he was good, too. I really liked him in Remains of the Day

  • @alexaadap with the exception of superman he was

  • Such the Twin soul movie!

  • What a beautiful movie...I love Jane Seymour

  • Films with 'Time Warp' concept is just awesome like the Love Letter (late 1990's), Il Mare - Korean Film (2000), Moments of Love - Filipino Film (2004), The Lakehouse - American Remake of Il Mare (2006) and of course this one... the ORIGINAL!

  • '' COME BACK TO ME " see the way she says it , the viewers could feel the extreme pain and love from that 4 words ...only a talented actress like her could do it ..

  • I know. Sooooooooooooooo true!

  • La pelicula es sencillamente EXCELENTE, pero por favor: ¿Alguien odria subir una vesion subtitulada al español? Mil gracias. Saludos desde mi Argentina.

  • I love this movie so much.

  • Todo tu perfecto amor Dulce amor mío

  • LOL. What if the name of the play at 5:03 was Too Much Superman

  • si saben si esta traducida al español o subtitulada pasenme el link

    GRACIASSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • thank you for posting the whole movie i just love this movie and i am a st8 guy with a g/f lol

  • @rob39uk this is TRULY a romantic movie...and I think it's amazing to see couples who know how to keep ROMANCE...the stuff that great novels were made of....in their relationships.

I get so BORED with movies that have so much "IN YOUR FACE" sex...and things like that. It's way too overdone. I'm a gay male, actually...a portrait painter and classical piano teacher...and I love this whole idea that "less is more". It's not about blatant sexuality, but more about being in love.

  • @rob39uk i dont think it would matter if you were gay? love, theres plenty of men out there who like soppy movies and who are straight, don't think you're the only one! XD

  • Thank you sooooo much for uploading this movie you are awesome!

  • love this movie so much my husband and I had over honeymoon at the Grand Hotel it was very beautiful.. if we make it on your 20th anniversary we will be back ten more to go..lol thanks for the upload one movie I will never get tired of watching..

  • thanks ive always loved this movie

  • Thank you for posting this :)

  • The soundtrack to this is absolutely stunning! John Barry is outstanding! And Seymour looks gorgeously divine! I'm in awe of her beauty around this era!

  • @jdlaw001 You are absolutely right, incredible soundtrack. I can't imagine how in the world the movie didn't win the Academy Award they give out for soundtrack.

  • @jdlaw001 me too.

  • @jdlaw001 ive always thought Jayne Seymore in this movie is the most beautiful woman i have ever seen, esp how she looks in the photograph when she sees Richard - incandescent radiant beauty

  • Feel touched watching this movie...have some good memories attached...

  • i have this movie and i lend it to my bro but he didnt give it back to me :( thank you for posting

  • Supersweetguy- The book Bid Time Return is different from the film but very well done. If you liked the film I think you'd enjoy the book.

  • I haven't read the book Bid Time Return. GIve me one good reason why all of you people are so against a remake. Why? Is it because you think that this picture will compare to the remake of Let the right one in?

  • Just returned home from Mackinac Island. It hasn't changed a bit. This could have been filmed last week. The film was shown in a loop on our room television and after 7 days and nights we were never tired of watching this movie.

  • Thanks so much for uploading this movie! It`s been years since I`ve seen this : )

  • One of my all time favorite movies! Love watching this with my girl friend ;-) And, am not ashamed to say, even without her...I'm man enough to watch by myself...and cry at the good parts.lol

A classic, and the best performance Christopher Reeve's ever did!

This movie explains 'the meaning' of how true love transcends time and space...

  • im man enough too lol im watchin it right now while my lady is at work.....excellent film...just brilliant!!

  • i think that men always sound so much more manly if they can watch a movie, cry at it and then admit it

your girlfriend has a special boyfriend

    xx

  • My girlfriend loves this movie.

Have a great weekend. Puerto Rican Love from NYC

  • this is the saddest movie ever!

  • it is sad, but love is sad and happy, love is pain, and joy.

  • is this music clare de lune "moonstruck" ? thanks for putting this up have been wanting to see it for so long

  • No, Theme for Pagianni (sp) by Rachmanov

  • blueblade, thanx soo much! wonderful thing you've done by sharing this.

  • i crieddd.

  • How wonderful to be able to see this film once again. My all-time favourite Christopher Reeve film. I don't think the critics were impressed but the public loved it.. Was this one of his favourite roles?

Was that really Jane Seymour as the old lady?

    Many thanks for the posting.

  • Thank you! Thank you!

  • It is a good example of "jinn" (theoretical time traveling item with a looped world line). In this case the "jinn" would be the watch.

  • i was a kid when i watch this great movie..but i still remember that..so touching..

  • it came it when i was a kid too, and i remember my mom crying always, and i've always cried when i watch it too...every time

  • wow, i can't believe anyone would think this sucks. but of course you are entitled to your opinion...even if your opinion sucks lol this is one of my all time favorites.

  • i have been looking for this movie for about 25 years! i saw it when i was a kid, and it had such a huge impression on me, i cried for long long time. But i never knew the movies name until now.

  • I love this movie.What a classic!!!

  • thanks for uploadin! great movie.
