@ilirross moron, Slav means slava, glory, not slave. English borrowed the phonetics for the word for when Slavic people were massacred and enslaved during the Christian crusades into Eastern Europe and Russia. The word Slav is much older than many words in other languages.
I am a Greek myself & admire the Slavs. The Slavs were great & glorious last century & the world took them seriously. However the Slavs need to rekindle once more the traditional Pan - Slavism of yesteryear. I know there are many Slavs who still believe in unity, but more need to join in again. To be great again.

People would love to unite. Politicians, on the other hand, love to separate because of power and money it results in. No matter how bad or good communism was, it gave birth to USSR -- the biggest international unity of human history (in this era, at least) -- a unity of 15 countries, 7 of which were Slavic.
