  • This was the song that introduced me to me to the work of Bob James. It was actually on his CTI "Best of..." album that came around '77 or so. I was about four when Pops came home with it. (about '78). You just gotta love Steve Gadd's drum work here.

Oddly enough, Bob James has been making solo albums for as long as I've been in the world, but to this VERY DAY, the only stuff I like is the CTI stuff. Some of his late 70s stuff was "a'ight", but give me ONE, TWO, THREE & FOUR and I'm good2go.

  • @Odawg96 I totally agree--his CTI stuff is untouchable, imo. The best from one of the best. These cats were tighter than a frog's ass, man! Just listen to'm breakin' it down....

  • @Odawg96 You are so right O dawg 96. 1234 are great musically and more than genious. Appealing to funk jazz contemporary soul hip hop and has classical musical elements. Bob James is like some gifted dj of some sort. He's the best I've ever heard so far.

  • @lorddreg Please don't use Bob James's name in conjunction with hip hop or compare him to a dj. You sound like a retard when you do.

  • @lhurien Don't be ignorant fellow. Check wikipedia

  • @lorddreg I guess you can't stop hip hop retards from sampling his music.

  • @lhurien you're the retard. Bob has said many times he respects hip-hip producers for their appreciation of his music. He's even collaborated with these 'retards'. No you can drink that bottle of STFU I just served you.

  • One was released in 1974

  • yes you're correct. my bad

  • Eric B And Rakim's Let The Rhythm Hit Em

  • Great song. Always reminded me of a chase scene in a movie for some reason.

  • a,esi konteueis na ftaseis emena stis gnwseis sta upoloipa!mi me rwtiseis gt...enas dj paragwgos prepei na exei akousei poli mousikh.

  • Also sampled on Hijack's - Don't Go With Strangers (i think lol).

0:25 that's been used on quite a lot of tunes.
