  • Thank gawd I didn't watch this crap before I read the book.....

  • this movie just shits.

  • Trailors are designed to get as many people into the flicker show as possible. Readers of the book will go see it, so why not have all the brainless masses follow suit thinking it is an off the wall romcom. As they slobber popcorn and cheese down their bellies, maybe they will actually find a better taste in cinema. Or maybe they will wobble off and watch CGI Movie 3 or Adam Sandler 4.

  • @Pentdad Whoa. Seriously vicious remarks.

    I like 'em.

  • @Pentdad absolutely true. fight club was guilty of this too. it was sort of marketed as a movie about a bunch of guys with nice abs beating the shit out of each other.

  • Ok. I saw this movie during the brief time it ran in the theaters. I loved it. The best dumb blonde joke ever written. "I am the backbone of colonial America". What a scream...Almost peed myself laughing during the Colonial Trial...Give the movie a chance..."How did I arrive at a place like this". Sam Rockwell is sex on two legs!

  • britta<3

  • I´ve just read the book-which I thought was great!-and I was thinking that 'wow, this might would work out to be a really good film', since I didn´t know there was a movie.I want the see this movie now but I fully agree with FlashFire20...

Is there any more of Chuck's books that has been done into movies? Except from Fight Club, that I also have read and then seen. That one I actually thought was very good-similiar-to the book and more or less exactly as I had imagined when reading(not theend)

  • the movie itself was pretty funny.

  • why is this movie so boring?? only sex init nothing else lmao

  • @155anthony you should read the book.

  • Honestly going into it try to view it as a stand alone movie. Its pretty good as a movie. It just left out a few things I thought were key. (mostly stuff at the end so i wont spoil it) its not a bad movie it just kinda fails as an adaptation.

  • Satan said dance!

  • "Incredible" isnt the right word, but its the first that comes to mind.

  • what a well cut trailer!! it was the story of my life before it came out and i would class this with kung fu panda 2 for it's dry wit!!

  • whats the satan song called?

  • @Jizzsplosion

Its called "Satan Said Dance", by Clap Your Hands And Say Yeah.

  • Poodle

  • @jono712 Yes! Poodle! LOL!

  • I bet no one can guess why I for searched this video.

  • @choke you typed your own nick into the search bar by an accident?

  • I had to sign back in to tell all of the negative commenter's that this movie is actually very good. The trailer does not do it justice, I agree. Trust me, watch the film - Sam Rockwell is an amazing actor, and the lead female (who is the same on Boardwalk Empire) is great.

  • Yeah, this is not how I imagined the movie at all. The book had a really dark tone overall, with occasional bursts of dark humor and dry wit. This trailer (and the music) makes it look like a romantic comedy.

  • @FlashFire20 yea man it looks like a dumb romantic comedy =/

  • @FlashFire20

While I havent seen the movie, it should be noted that trailers can be misleading and the producers of te movie have called it a dark comedy. Though it apparently differentiates from the book, Chuck Palahniuk has stated that he enjoyed it

  • @FlashFire20- How about you watch the movie. It's hardly a comedy. Or romantic.

  • Just finished reading the book, and decided to watch the trailer... Not sure if I want to see the whole movie...

  • I saw this movie first and it did ruin the full effect of the book for me, BUT, in the same breath it made me appreciate the book more because it was far more in depth and crazy<3

  • Is that Britta

  • @CorporealHunter It is indeed. Now We see what She was doing before going to Greendale

  • Movie ruined the book for me :(

  • The guy playin victor is awesome

  • does any body know the song which is playing in the beginning of the trailer? please...

  • @zapistan If i'm not mistaken the first song is Making Me Nervous by Brad Sucks... then the second song is Satan Said Dance by Clap Your Hands and Say Yeah don't know about the third one tho.

  • I don't know about you guys but I imagined Victor Mancini in a different way.

I like Sam Rockwell but just not as this character, don't know why.

  • britta?

  • @AndreaInspired Yep, she shows her tits too.

  • the pacing of the book is too much for a film to handle IMO...it cant be done in anyway

  • I think this movie was much better at bringing the book's character's to life than Fight Club. And I'm saying that as a true Chuck Palahniuk-fan. Of course, the book is still much better, but compared to what they did to Fight Club, this movie is brilliant. And Sam Rockwell is truly phenomenal.

  • @xxAgent134 no way dude, this movie RUINED the book. The only translation that slightly worked was the chemistry between Victor and Denny. Everything else was total rubbish. It was no were near the intelligent, existentialist, misanthropic yet hopelessly romantic masterpiece that the book was. Fight did a terrific job in capturing the tone of Fight Club the book. PLus there were a LOT of shitty actors in this one. FIght club had wonderful actors.

But that is just my opinion.

  • @wraith738 I agree it's nowhere near the book, but the script is more loyal to the book than FC and the latter has a LOUSY ending. Both movie endings are altered but at least Choke's is more satisfying. Plus, those who haven't read FC probably don't get half of the movie. Look at them both as movies and pretend that you haven't read the books and you'll know what I mean.

  • @xxAgent134 Pitt and Norton are fabulous actors, Norton did a TERRIFIC job, but come on. Famous actors don't always make the best actors for some parts and unknown actors don't always make shitty actors. Rockwell does what every protagonist in Palahniuk-books does: he blends in and makes himself like common man. Pitt, Meatloaf and Bonham Carter doesn't - and no, not because of their actions. They just never get to the level of common man-status.

  • @xxAgent134 My opinion is the opposite. I thought the film ending to FC was great. Maybe even better than the book. I liked the dark/hopeful end that the movie had as opposed to the chilling finale the book had. Both endings were great but the visuals and audio of the movie set an dark yet somehow optimistic conclusion. Choke(the film) lost the point about change, about deciding for our selves who we are. At the end of the movie it seemed Victor hadnt changed/learned anything. It was a let down.

  • @wraith738 Oh. But he doesn't really change. He just starts on a new leaf. He was about to have sex but stopped and ran to the meeting. And the book doesn't really say that he's getting better or that he changes, I mean, addicts are always addicts even if they stop abusing. It just concludes that, as you said, we decide for ourselves who we are. Step by step. Stone by stone. Etc.

  • @xxAgent134 Well "changed" might not have been the best word, but he was "willing to make a change." The whole book was his 4th step so you know he is actually making an effort. Plus the last words of the book make you feel like anything is possible. Like change is coming. Sure, he might fall back into his old habits but, like Denny, I feel like he was becoming a better person for all his troubles. In the movie it felt like he didn't learn anything or change in any way. It was just less poetic.

  • READING IS FOR SQUARES!

  • "Fucking nave".

  • FUCK OFF SPAM

  • heý_äÑÿóñè_wãnÑâ_chÂt_with_me_î_feêl_sÔ_lønély_tòÐÂY┌

  • this makes the book look boring. The book is great, really great, I bought the one with the movie cover without knowing it was the movie cover, now i wiss i could have bought the one with the original cover... But the book is awesome, Victor's character is cool.

  • whats the song name?

  • @joshrichardss If you mean the one at the start, look at my channel.

  • I don't want to watch this, it'll ruin my view of the book.

  • @Karateworm It's different enough from the book that they can be seen as they're own thing

  • @Karateworm

Though it apprently changes elements from the book (I havent seen it), Chuck Palahniuk liked and actually supported the departures from the book. Plus Sam Rockwell is an amazing actor.

  • @Karateworm Man, dont, the book is amazing

  • Gillian Jacobs... unnfffff. <3

  • I just watched this, I got mind fucked by this movie for real..its funny..but deep..: / ,depends on what type of person you are what things mean to you

  • Alot of people say its an action movie. I would say it's more of a drama. Loved it btw and the book. I haope they turn more of Chuck's books into movies, even though the movie could never be as good as the book.

  • This movie was funny as hell!

  • I read the book in school so now i wanna see the movie!! :D

  • saw the movie last night, thought it was fucking awesome

  • I SAW IT LAST NIGHT AND WAS VERY IMPRESSED..I THOUGHT THE CAST GAVE A VERY GOOD CHARACTER PROTRAIL. Pleasantly surprised.I saw it on kookíca and it was not what I expected at all. Twisted but Good.

  • I think everyone is missing a lot of the audio effects in this film... particularly in the very last shot. So try to see it again at kookíca to catch all the details. And while i thoroughly enjoyed the film, and at the time was very caught up in it, reflection over the past few days has left a really satisfied feeling.

  • @awaiskhan59 Action film?

  • I loved the story-line and I laughed out loud a number of times, really good movie that you can find on kookíca

  • Reading this book is like a drug...truly amazed at what I am ingesting

  • looks good, but i imagined it differently. darker

    loved the book btw

  • @Madinkin Me too. It's dark as fight club

  • Didn't like it

    sucked

    Moon is way better

  • For me any film that has 'replay/re-watch value' (and not many action films these days do) is worthy of at least 8 out of ten. I would give this one 9 out of Ten, it is not perfect but it is still a brilliant film to see on kòòkica!!

  • Great acting all around, with effects that supported the movie instead of taking it over. If it's as deep as some of you people think, then I'm clueless. I would love to see it again right away and will on kòòkica when I catch some time...

  • i just finished reading the book, cant wait to see if the movie matches up.

  • man i needa read/see this, but they need to make a movie for haunter for sure as fucked up and pornographic/goreorgraphic/ and just plain fucked up it would be

  • "You said blondes get skin cancer"

    omg priceless

  • just finished reading the book, can't wait to see the movie!

  • @Tahirwhite

dito but now i read flight 2039. its my sixth books from him ^^

  • Havent seen the movie? Read the book

  • read the book, i give the movie an 7 out of ten! in the book loved it when they say "calling doctor REMINGTON to the front desk!" -yeah like u don't know what that means.

  • ummm disturbing shit he fucks his mom :O

  • I need to see this again. Now.

  • This film has so many good points.. the things I liked the most were the bonds that are made during the film, and the way how you are led into feeling for this characters. It is very much a feel-good movie, with extras that are funny and surprising. Don't wait any longer, see it now on kookicá.. It is great movie, for real!

  • Engaging, emotional and riveting! It is highly intelligent movie thriller, you just have to trust this characters. The biggest movie overall!!!! It has an eye for unusual, atmospheric touches and beautiful effects that you are gonna enjoy in. All that is here for you on kookicá!!!!ENJOY!

  • Haven't seen the movie yet...love sam rockwell though...

question: is the blonde stripper supposed to be stupid or is she smart and witty? I take it as attutide but that might just be me...

  • Interesting movie, the latest one I have seen on kookicá. Recommended! For me, it was very well thought out and also great imagined with the deepest storyline. This movie really made me think while I was watching it. It was fascinating idea. I liked this movie!!!!!

  • THis movie was crap.I'm so dissapointed.long live the book!

  • I have yet to see this movie but I really want to though there is one thing? going through my mind right now: How long did it take to make that logo sequence at the end. I'm betting it was a pretty damn long time. I will see the movie on kookìca today.

  • In my personal opinion, this film gives plausible explanation for many of the secrects with some really tremendous action scenes. Its a great plot with a great cast! A winner every time! Definitely would recommend seeing it! It is on k o o k i c a free of paying. Do not skip it!

  • @monir107010 fuck off

  • Wait, Barry has a shaved head, in the book?

  • Isn't Denny supposed to be thin and bald? Which book did the read before writing the script?

  • So I just finished the book and now I'm interested in the movie, but I have to ask. What were they thinking when they chose that actor to play Denny?

  • @sumonnaja FUCK YOU AND YOUR RETARDED SPAM!!THIS ISN"T AN ACTION MOVIE RETARD!!!

  • whats the name of the song in the beginning?

  • of corse the book is much better than the movie. Palahniuk is the best writer i've ever read.

  • Wasn't Denny bald in the book? Also, I think the movie should've had a darker tone to it. They book didn't feel as 'jolly' as the trailer presents it.

  • Lol! "Good thinkin'!"

  • i will see that movie tomorrow at Movie Watcherus i think.

  • This was a beautiful movie.

Funny, Sad and enlightening all and all, a moving movie. I would recommend it to anyone... old enough to understand it.

  • What's the song?

  • @whatup2512 @randomfilmsguy @everyone else asking, there are two songs, Satan Said Dance by Clap Your Hands and Say Yeah, and Show Me All the Rules Girl by Ben Kweller

  • LOL I LOVE THE BLOND THAT CHANGED HER HAIR IN THE END!!

  • Whats the song playing

  • I loved the book.

    It was freakin amazing.

Wish they chose better actors though...

  • Finally saw it. I loved it!

  • the best of this movie is the music in the trailer:

clap your hands say yeah - Satan Said Dance

  • B movie... not great, not good.. but OK. I just like Sam Rockwell.

  • @fastcarskickass

Seeing your name, I'd expect no less than for you to rate it a B movie. You don't understand what the movie is about, because you have no brain. But that's okay, I'm sure you found "The Fast and the Furious" 5 out of 5 stars... Right?

  • @WPNistherealGOD hey man, nothing wrong with B movies.

  • use your search engine to find Movie Watcher and you can watch this movie for free...

  • wat song?

  • The book was amazing. I haven't seen the movie yet. Chuck Palahniuk is genius.

  • @KillUnicornsx The book was awesome. I hope he tours soon.

  • hui am ready for some action any guys want to take the challenge?

  • cool!

  • This was a strange movie.

  • @sm0154 When is a Chuck Pakahniuk based movie, not strange?

  • Ual!

  • britta, my god! "cherry daiquiri"? get down from that stage!!!

  • @RottenAppleSeeds hehehehehhe

and they have called her like that in community, it was so funny x)

  • lol, i remember. i had a feeling they would do it. community's such an awesome show, and choke's a great movie. good for gillian jacobs/cherry daiquiri.

  • yeah wow i just read this book about a week ago, im so disappointed they made this into a movie, it was horrible, why didn't they make diary a movie?!

  • Taht guy was played in Green Mile :)

  • I just seen it. It sucked bad. Looked like slap stick but not funny.

  • i c/a\'t6 t6ype8 r9i my c/ompu+t6e8r9g.ht6!!n s1ome8t6hig. is1 w7r9og. w7it6hnn

  • Just watched this! <3 It was amazing.

  • Sure, if you like stupid teene movies. The book was realy good. They should not call the movie Choke, because it ruins everything.

  • I finally saw the entire thing. I liked it. I didn't like how there were some things about the book that they changed, but they overall did a good job with adapting the book. Also, Sam Rockwell did great in it.

  • when i heard about this being a movie, I was sure i was not going to like it. THEN when i found out am rockwell was playing victor, my mind changed completely. PERFECT FOR THE ROLE

  • kelly macdonald is in this..she was good in no country for old men

  • I feel like I might be disappointed in this after reading the book.

  • Really, Sam Rockwell is one of the most criminally overlooked actors out there. He's just great, and this movie and Moon are great examples of it.

  • @TehDDC

Overlooked in contrast to what? He's one of the most famous people in the western world. An international A lister.

  • @homer091 Maybe now he is since Iron Man 2 has come out, but by the time this movie was out, if I were to tell some random person about Sam Rockwell, they'd say "who?" or something like that. And even if he was famous, he is definitely no A-lister like, say, Johnny Depp is right now.

Either way, he's a great actor, regardless of being over-looked or not.

  • Holy smokes that's billy the kid prisoner from "The green mile".

  • amazingly good movie. i was shocked - thought they didn't make these anymore. funny as hell and profound.

good, good movie. rockwell is wonderful and houston is sublime.

  • i didn´t want to see it since the book was so great but maybe i should give it a try

  • i hope its like the book..
