  • hey thanks, for making this been away a while good to remember How blessed our country is.

  • the wine cask wasn't invented until 1967?

  • it's white only so I'm not allowed. I planned to visit Fiji instead for winter vacation but it seems Fiji is also occupied by honorary white China today.....sigh. Maybe new Caledonia..

  • Australia? Just another american colony. Sad!!

  • @kreativdronare its british... and america is was originally a british colony...

  • whats the song starting at 5:40

  • Australia is my favorite country, after the USA (pre-2000). However, I would move there in a heartbeat, if I could. They don't seem to want us old, retired folk. But great country.

  • @RTDevilDog I'm guessing you're American yes? If you are you would get here easily, Australians love you guys, haha. My cousins are from California, and they're lucky enough to own a house here in Aus and in the US...they've got a dual United States/Australia citizenship.

  • Australia also had the world's first air base. Point Cook. Interesting fact.

  • I wanna come back so badly, Australia is just amazing =D fab video =D

  • - Climbing Uluru isn’t really illegal, but it’s discrimination to the local aboriginal people, because Uluru is a sacred area. The aboriginals believe a lot in spirits. They believe that, when you die your spirit will live on inside of Uluru. So when you climb Uluru, you actually step on the old aboriginal ancestors.

But, today it’s a great opportunity to get tourism, a lot are climbing the rock and don’t think of the old spiritual stories that lie buried in this sacred area.

  • oi

  • You forgot 'Bottlo' for Bottle shop.

Also, isn't Ayers Rock called Ularu these days?

I'm from out West so I have no idea what you Easterners call it.

  • I am pretty sure Aussie has more people than anarctica ..... that would be the least populated continent..... corrrrrect. Kind of lost credibility early on but def a great video.

  • @dicker9point5 It is the least populated continent that is occupied by one nation or country ( - look at the video again)! Antarctica may have less people but it isn't actually a country or nation. It's claimed by 7 nations. Thanks for watching :D

  • @kissnyuszi Well played sir. Well played.Great video.

  • @dicker9point5 That would be 'Madam'.. ;)

  • We got those red rock's here in Saint George,UT

  • just wanted to say - nice songs and nice views!

  • I live in the US. Las Vegas to be more specific :) I would love to visit Australia some day! & btw I love the song you used for this video. Lol

  • I hope to visit the wonderful country of Australia in the near future. I live in Canada and am SO sick & tired of cold winters, frostbite, etc! thanks for posting such an informative video. love the song too. My sister married an Australian & moved to Perth years ago, my main reason for wanting to visit, but the lifestyle (more laid back) is certainly an added bonus!

  • AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE 8D

  • WANT TO COME AND PLAY AND WORK IN AUSTRALIA? Here at yourtickettooz we can arrange you a guaranteed job for 6 months and get your employer to pay for your flight! check out our page for more information. Hope to see you soon!

  • I'm going to Australia in May and I can hardly wait! I've been researching for a couple of years and slowly became obsessed with going there. I think it will be the greatest place I've ever seen. Good tips on slang, thanks for that. Australia rocks!!!

  • eeewww i hate john howard! I live in Victoria too, on the Mornington Peninsula, i love australia!!!! i love muriels wedding, going to queensland, geoffery rush, lamingtons, the sites in central australia, DAME EDNA. I quite like our school uniforms too but they're not as pompous as the ones u showed. i think everyone should cum 2 australia!!! btw, go qantas. Great video mate

  • @supacooldudethinks Thanks! Maybe after Oprah's huge endorsement... a lot more people will come? Re: uniforms... Private school uniforms tend to be a bit more formal and there are a lot of these schools out there... with uniforms a lot more formal looking than the one's in this video. I work in the school photography industry - so I see a lot of uniforms!

  • @supacooldudethinks HAHA YOU SAID CUM...you gross

  • ¡¡¡ɐılɐɹʇsnɐ uı ɥʇɹɐǝ ǝɥʇ ɟo llɐɟ uɐɔ noʎ

  • Awsome video. Buy sorry to say, if it wasn't for the university of Iraq, none of these inventions would have existed, wether its hungarian, american, german or australian. The uni of Iraq was where technology all started. Im not Iraqi, its just a fact i wanted to share.

  • @Tarateesh Okaaaay. :~[

  • You didn't mention The Seekers or Vegimite.

I'm a Canuck and I was waiting for those! :D

  • @mottledbrain Hi ! Thanks for watching my video :) If you were to read all of the comments left on this video.. you'll see that some people think I've left stuff out.. But the truth is.. the video already was nearly double the length that I planned it to be. I wanted under 5 minutes - but as it happens it was over 8 minutes. I also didn't want to do a cliched video with vegemite, koala's and Sydney Harbour Bridge.. as awesome as those things are. I couldn't possibly please everyone :)

  • I loved this! Thanks for the amazing facts about the country I love!

  • @aprilblenk Aww, thank you so much and my apologies for taking this long to reply! :D

  • Australia is great, but us, hungarians, are big too. Our country is small, but in inventions we are the best on Earth. Only examples: Safety Match, Kripton-filled lamp, atomic bomb, hydrogen bomb, hologram, computer, electric train, helicopter, automobile (yes,. the constructer was hungarian), easier fly, pen, vitamin C... And in the video were a few mistakes, Australia is not the bigest, it is Asia. Urulu is great, and i miss the opera of Sydney...

  • @gaabriel1987 Hello !! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment :) If you watch my video again - I say that Australia is the biggest continent occupied BY ONE NATION. Asia is made up of many countries!

  • @kissnyuszi And the australian inhabitants?:) Here exists ayínother monoculture continent, the Antarktis (south pole). But, it is true...

  • @kissnyuszi Australia is the smallest continent of course. Yes it has one nation/country. But there are bigger pieces of land on the earth which has one nation and larger nations than Australia.

  • @gaabriel1987 wow most inventions used for war etc! lol just kidding "whose is the best country?' will never be solved

  • @supacooldudethinks

Most? Yes... But not all. The first car for example, Ford was economist, the main constructer was József Galamb, Hungary. The electrical train? Kálmán Kandó, Hungary. The helicopter? Oszkár Asbóth, Hungary. Computer? János Neumann, Hungary. Plane turbulences? Tódor Kármán, Hungary. Vitamin C? Albert Szentgyörgyi, Hungary. Pen, László Bíró, Hungary. Safe matches, János Irinyi, Hungary. Naturally, atomic bomb, Jenő Wigner, Hungary, hydrogen bomb, Ede Teller, Hungary...

  • @gaabriel1987 common!! every country has intelligent and innovative people. and there are so many countries in the world. This shows your ignorance only

  • @helaya007

True. But... I heared about english, french, chinese, american, italian, spanish, even belgija, or german scientists, but no australians, and in fact, no south-americans or africans as well... (I don't know the word, belgija wants to be the country of Bruxelles...)

  • @helaya007

Ok, please forgive me... The bigest reason, I'm hungarian, and I WON'T understand even your messages, you spek english, the international language. It is only time, when will be the most known the chinese and indian languages... You haven't heared, two days ago was a very big earthquakek in Hungary. See, in Australia don't happen eartquakes...

  • @kissnyuszi I'm planning on moving to Australia in about two years now, once i graduate with my associates. I have so many questions to ask lol. What city do you think it's best to live in?

  • @jprcuteface94 melbourne is

  • @jprcuteface94 Which city is best to live in? I think it's a matter of personal choice. Some people love Melbourne and others love places like Perth or Launceston or Townsville. I struggle with semi-tropical climates, so I wouldn't be able to live in places like Queensland or the Northern Territory. I don't like humidity, heat and big insects! Who knows what will suit your personality & needs? I can offer a biased recommendation.. Geelong or Melbourne! ;)

  • @goldstar226 Re: if we're full.... It depends who you're asking (evidently)! We have strict immigration criteria.. but you never know.. you might qualify! This kind of info can be found on the 'net. Thanks for watching/commenting :)

  • @flybreath Thank you!! Sorry for the very late reply too.

  • Ah man I miss Aus.. Spent a month there in 07 and can't get it out of my head.

Looking to emigrate from Canada in the next year or two. Australians are great people, much like Canada -but no foul winter weather!

  • @kevie88 Thank you for watching and commenting! :) I hope you can make it over here like my parents did in 1971! Obviously we never looked back.

  • Thank you!

  • @klauzes You're welcome.. and thank you for thanking me!

  • We dont own Australia, you have your own government and have self determination. As a british person I am happy to be part of a common wealth with your country. Australia is a beautiful country, and I am looking forward to visiting there soon. And yes England is a shit hole, the weather is crap we are bankrupt and we are next door to Europe, all bad things lol x

  • uluru. NOT ayers rock. that's the colonists nickname for it

  • @arhoptt

It's called Ayres Rock. Only the bloody abo's and the federal environment minister call it Oolaroo.

    It's bloody Ayres Rock !

  • i'm a banana bender!!! :D p.s. you missed out 'togs' as well for swimsuit slang

  • @kdono15 Sorry.. but I have a long list of things that didn't make it into this video. There was just too many things for a video that was supposed to be no more than 5 minutes long. I do appreciate that you watched and left a comment though :)

  • Comment removed

  • Geez, I'm az dry as a dead dingo's donger. Wouldn't mind knockin' the scab of a cold one and downin' the golden throat charmer.

"I'm thirsty and would like a beer thankyou"

  • You forgot that we also call 'swim suits' togs :) Great vid!

  • @moolol1 brisbanians do!

  • @MrSmartGeek I'm from Brisbane! lol

  • @moolol1 lololol yeah, in QLD we call them togs, but I think in NSW they call them cozzies?

  • @moolol1 There's an actual loooong list of things that one could say I 'forgot' in the video.. but there were just too many things to list for a video that wasn't meant to be any longer than 5 minutres. Thanks for leaving a comment though.. other people will read it.. and you help me by adding to the trivia 'n facts. :)

  • if coming down under bring your boardies and sunnies!

  • @kraziestylecrew Definitely your sunglasses (sunnies).. but swimming is optional ! Thanks for watching/commenting :)

  • Im from Texas :D i like this video now :D Everything is Bigger and Better in Texas. :D you got an advice to moving to aussie land?

  • @cartmanrulez32 Glad you like the video, thank you! Are you planning to migrate to Australia?

  • @kissnyuszi Hells Yea, even though its "full" just kick out a few kiwis ;).

  • that was well presented and entertaining thx heaps

  • @intractable1 Hi.. so sorry for taking this long to reply. I appreciate you leaving a comment on my Aussie vid! :)

  • great to see a photo of melbourne taken from anywhere but Flinders Street great video

  • @stonedsaladonion Yay.. most commenters would have said "Oh but you forgot Flinders Street station".. lol. There were too many things I could have put in this video..and I tried to keep it 'different'..and not so cliched.. ie. no vegemite or Hills Hoist. Thanks for watching/commenting! :)

  • An additional trivia in telecommunication: " The first reverse charge call company MUMDAD was established in Australia.."

  • really..thank you for giving me this memory about my university graduation trip over there, where I lost my luggage and i earned long lasting friendship..

  • @Algidablu

Thank you for sharing this... and so sorry it's taken me this long to leave you a reply. Hopefully you'll come back to Australia one day?

  • great video. lol at the john howard part xD

  • @Mistersamsam Thank you so much! :)

  • nice video, greetings from Croatia!! :)

  • @schranzcro Hello to you in Croatia! I'm glad you watched and left a comment :) Come visit one day :)

  • Wow I love the australian accents! I really wish I can vist there on day!

  • @Catty235 Thank you! It's not often you hear that our accent is 'loved'. You should come over! :)

  • @kissnyuszi I have always wondered, do many aussies like American accents?

  • @Catty235 not really

  • great video!!!

  • @estherxtu Many thanks...! And also many apologies for taking this long to reply.

  • That's just great. A bloody Hungarian doing the job of the Australian Tourism Board.........and doing a better job of it to.

    5/5

  • @MrSinAfterSin Hahaha. I have an interest in travel and studied in this field for a year.. but I'm not in the industry. I'm actually a foodie! And I came to Australia as a 2 year old.

  • Australia's the most racist country??? thats not what i've heard or seen in other videos about Australia. All the videos i've seen have shown americans who visited there or moved there they all said that Australia took them in as their own and were very warm and welcoming. I still wanna go there. I need to beg my friend from work to save money up with me so we can plan a trip there in the next year or so.

  • I plan on going there myself but for work program. I hope there not racist, im African American. lol

I know the New Zealanders are very nice people, i cant imagen Aussies would be far off from them..

  • @ZionSamurai87 As with every country, there are good and bad people everywhere.. but we are a nation made up of Aussies from all generations.. + immigrants (like myself). My Australian born sister faced lots of discrimination in the U.S. during the 5 years she lived there.. (and she's white).. because of her accent & country of birth. Small minded people are everywhere, but in general, we embrace a tapestry of cultures, it makes us richer and who we are :) Thanks for the comment! :)

  • @brunettebabe85 its not racist at all..austrailia is a muilticultral country..always sunny and beaches everywhere and sydney is the best go surfing during the day then have a drink at the bars and pubs at night..beautiful one day perfect the next

  • @kraziestylecrew thats exactly what i've heard. I just hate when one american bashes another country because then that makes all us americans look like asses and we're really not. i'd LOVE to go there someday! i just can't afford it right now though. But one day i will go there! i am determined to go there before i die! I wanna visit Sydney but theres also other parts i'd like to explore! i've only seen Oz through pictures on the net or here on youtube but what i've seen is SO BEAUTIFUL!

  • @brunettebabe85 ..yess its heaps nice here..if you want to visit beaches sydney is ok..but its really hot up tropical Queensland even in winter youre still only wearing just a jumper..i whouldnt even think about living anywhere else

  • @brunettebabe85 Sorry for the very late reply.. but I hope you're closer to making that trip to Australia? You'll love it!! Thanks so much for leaving a comment too :)

  • @kissnyuszi sadly i am not any closer then i was when i first posted on here. I will get there one day though! I am determined!

  • @brunettebabe85 Yes it is the most racist country that's what I hear from people who live there, since South Africa changed it's political system

  • Great intro to Aussieland

  • @zzzanzibarr Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment - and so sorry it's taken this long for me to reply!

  • AMEN to that!!! I wish Canada had the perfect climate like you guys!!! But still, I think that we too have more to offer than England....if we do get a little too cold (damn, I mean WAY TOO COLD), at least we (apart from Vancouver or Newfoundland) get some sun, and nice days....

But I think I'll just come over to Australia...do you mind??????? :D:D:D

  • @Zorica12 no go for it - come and visit....it's bloody hot here at the moment so come and enjoy!!! Happy Australia Day!!!

  • *boards on next available plane*

Ahhhhhhhh....nice and hot, the way I LIKE it:). lol.

  • i think i just fell in love

  • @xoxoNYCgirl Come to Australia! And hey.. thank you for watching adn commenting :)

  • that one didnt they changed for like a year n now i havent seen one of the she showed in circulation for a few years

  • mad clip ay im from brisbane

  • me too (:

  • Does the $5 note not show Queen Elisabeth II??

  • @040348 Yes, Queen Elizabeth II is on the current $5 note which was introduced in July, '92. Prior to that Caroline Chisolm was on the $5 note.

  • OI OI OI !!!

  • Loved this...quickie additional facts..the money is colour coded so no matter how skunked you are you can tell what your pulling out of your wallet ( not like the US) & we Aussies also invented the clothesline (greenies around the world are now clamouring to buy it & also the tetra milk carton... Oh so many more...smart Aussies OI OI OI

  • And Vegemite!!

  • lol. I'm Canadian, and if I came over to Australia, and got skunked, well, good luck with getting the right money...our colours are different from yours...lol. What a sight that would be! Ya ya, here's a $20...oops...I just gave away $100!!!

  • Nothing I care about your disagreement with the British, I want to go to Australia, you have only 20 million people, one more will not do the difference. Just stick a raft, oars, after tomorrow I am going to the store and nothing can stop me. I do not care what you think, how will your place on this continent a crouched in the bay, and wait for my turn.

  • oui oui oui oui

  • Despite what people seem to think from previous comments, everyone here doesn't really care where you come from, i certainly dont. We're a multicultural country, and proud of it!

  • LOL, I loved your vid.

I want to live in AU one day

but i dont know how im going to work that whole "driving on the wrong side of the road thing"

  • @april97cobra Many thanks for leaving a comment on my video all those months ago! I do hope you get a chance to come and experience Australia.. you'll have a ball! :)

  • Great video...5*********

  • @viveecuador Thank you! :)

  • uhhh my life dream is to live there one day :)

  • @ArgotSpell Thanks for watching and for taking the time to leave a comment :) Hope you get to make it here!

  • @samfoxx666....presently live in Iowa attending university

  • That was a great Video!

  • @JJPeatey Thank you JJ ! :D

  • LOVE your vid! I'll be visiting QLD for my summer break in 2011 and the information in your vid is very useful. I have hopes of moving to QLD after graduation as well. Wish me luck!

  • @Wyntarra Where do you live? I plan on moving to Australia later but I have to wait a few years..

  • @samfoxx666 I live in Victoria.. an hour south of Melbourne in Geelong (I think I mentioned it in the video)!

  • @Wyntarra Hi there.. So sorry I've taken this long to reply to your comment. I'm just going through a bunch of comments now and deleting quite a few abusive/tasteless ones too! Are you still heading to Australia next year? I've spent lots of time in QLD because I have family there. The climate is too warm for me.. but many love it! I hope your dreams come true! :)

  • @kissnyuszi Yes, I am still planning on coming for a visit. I'll be staying for 4 months in the Glass House Mountains and Caboolture area with my best friend and her family. I'll be applying for my tourist visa soon and hopefully booking my tickets after Christmas. :)

  • @Wyntarra I've been to the Glass House Mountains area quite a few times -usually on my way to Australia Zoo.. I first visited the zoo when it was called Queensland Reptile and Fauna Park.. about 20 years ago! Yes.. I've been to the zoo many times and also the Sunshine Coast area which was my late father's favourite part of Qld. It's a beautiful part of Australia. I wish you all the best with your travel arrangements.. and hope you have a wonderful time! :)

  • @kissnyuszi Thank you very much hon. :))

  • thats good^^

  • @loveend94 Thank you! :)

  • Good on ya, mate! From Texas!

  • @BourneArgonaut Hi B.Argonaut from Texas! Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment :)

  • Please, please, please pretty please do a sequel xxx

  • @grahamneel I've talked about a sequel.. (I can imagine the attacks and criticism now.. if this video is anything to go by... lol )... It's not a priority at the moment and the pressure would be considerable too. This is my most successful YT video, I never would have imagined this many views and this much feedback. I hope people are positively inspired or affected by it... and they come visit Australia if they're not from here! :) Your encouragement is noted and appreciated :)

  • wht beach was the was it ocean grove?

  • Oh my god you forgot the hills hoist and the victor lawn mower probably the most important inventions

  • @10olivert Hi.. thanks for watching and leaving a comment :) In response to "you forgot"... I didn't forget anything in this video. As far as Aussie facts and trivia go.. I could have made a half hour long video.. and I still wouldn't have covered everything. I didn't necessarily want to list things that all Aussies are aware of. I didn't set out to list the most important and obviously well known inventions.. I wanted this video to be a bit different & I couldn't list everything.

  • Im from Queensland and never heard Banana Bender before

  • @10olivert My work is done.

  • @10olivert Actually.. sorry .. I should have started with "Thank you for watching and taking the time to watch the video". I do appreciate it!

  • ooo

  • Excuse the Spelling Mistakes I'm using my iPod and I have big hands lol

  • Anyway, all this is taking away from what this video is..... an amazing ad for an amazing place. My family and I want to move there and I passed the points score so watch out real 'poms' I'm on my way!!! I can bring the ashes egg cup over for you to look at if you like?

  • @stev1er1 Thanks for watching my vid.. and so sorry it's taken me this long to reply! :)

  • How can you say Oz has more history and culture than England? Mccrox, you were putting up good arguements until you said that you tool.

  • Great video! Hello from Southern

California, USA. I sure learned alot about beautiful Australia!

Sending my happy thoughts through the looking-glass.

    ♡ ƙarolyn

  • @weeknightingale Thanks Karolyn.. glad you watched and I appreciate that you took the time to leave a comment. So sorry it has taken a while to get back to you! :)

  • HELLS YEAH GO GEELONG!!!

  • i really loved your video . it was really informational ;)

it's always been my dream to go to australia and deffinately i'm moving to australia in 4 years w/ my mom. maybe you should give me some tips i should follow if i do move to australia .

    thanks ;)

  • @jprcuteface94 Keep in touch! I hope you get to move here.. it's a great place to live. I appreciate that you watched and left a comment :)

  • 8.38 minutes and not 1 second on Indigenous Australians. Says it all really.

  • @Kirstenmilton There was nothing on the Victor lawn mower, the Hills Hoist or Vegemite either. I couldn't put it all in one video.. nor was it my intention. You can't please all of the people all of the time. But great that you watched! :)

  • Do you have good hospitals, & jobs in Australia?

Heart doctors? How is the price of living there?

  • @maria39208 There are some very excellent hospitals.. but I hear some not so good one's in other areas too (as with most western nations around the world). We also have some of the best heart doctors in the world (in the capital cities however). The cost of living can be found on the internet.. just Google this subject. I think you'll find it's far more affordable than many European nations.

  • DAMN PROUD AUSSIE I AM! :P

  • Damn. lots of interesting info but very vague and some incorrect or missing info!! :P but altogether good. give us more. :P

  • the 5 buck note at the end of the clip is defferent?

  • @igore234 Caroline Chisolm used to appear on our $5 note (as you see in the video).. but currently it's Queen Elizabeth II.

  • Kissnyuszi, great video cant wait to get home ,live near toolangi usually but been over here for about 5 years (pommie land)

    see ya all soon

  • @jackscholesbramall So sorry for taking this long to reply. Are you home yet? I appreciate that you watched and left a comment! :)

  • Hate to nit pick, but you're forgetting Central Western Standard Time which is GMT +8.45. And the other territories: Norfolk Island, Christmas Island, Cocos Island, Australian Antarctic Territory and Macquarie Island

  • hello what's the title of the music please ?

  • @Mamoumage I've listed the music titles and artists in the info section under the video. Thanks for watching!

  • yea i cant wait to move there. i wanna join the aussie commandos. and my country (canada that is) is becoming to much alike the usa... which is no good

  • Someday I'll get there. For now, living in San Diego will do. Take a listen and look at signature locations of San Diego in video, "Our Town" by band Pullman Standard on Myspace gives an idea. SSSWEEEET!

SHOUT OUT AUSSIE respect in Pullman Standard EPK on YouTube.

  • @musiconfusion Make it a plan.. I'm sure you'll love Australia! :)
