Very difficult to say. I LOVED both. Bora Bora is more expensive than Aitutaki. It's also a little more commercialized, but the beauty of both islands are unmatched by any other tropical places I've been. I loved the isolation, relaxation and low number of tourists in both places.

My partner and I are planning a trip to Vanuatu and Aitutaki next year and were recommended the lagoon resort and spa resort, I noticed you stayed there and at the Pacific resort. Which would you say was better? based on overall experience. I also just watched your video of Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora, we did all 3 of those islands earlier this year and also made a video, search ‘bobi and kena’ in YouTube and it’s the first video.
I planned the Aitutaki trip for a year. I booked both the Lagoon and Pacific because we wanted to experience pure interior lagoon views (lagoon resort) and sunset views (Pacific resort). The Pacific blows away the Lagoon Resort for overall atmosphere, service, amenities, rooms, etc. However, the views from The Lagoon Resort are unmatched. I would recommend staying in both but you'd likely appreciate more time at The Pacific Resort.

Enjoy your time in Aitutaki. It is truly a beautiful place. The camera I used underwater was actually my Sony HDR-SR11 HD cam corder with Sony's waterproof housing. It's the same camera I used for all of the other shots in the video.

No doubt! The place was amazing. I was looking so forward to seeing One Foot Island before we got there, but as amazing as it was, nothing can beat Honeymoon Island during the tide change. It was like being on a different planet. Pure paradise!

Of course you can swim in it. The deepest part of the lagoon is around 20 feet, I think. Otherwise the whole thing is like a giant swimming pool.
