  • Lata Mangeshkar and S.D.Burman are both excellent in this song..,What a marvellous composition and magnificently sung by Lataji. Too good for words. This is music in nthe real sense of the word.

  • beautifull voice of lata ji. i like this phase of lataji's voice then any other phase of her entire singing career. thnx

  • nisheethriddhi<s comment only meant to praise Lata jis wonderful voice. No politics was in volved in that.Everbody knows that partition was not just a matter of division of our singers or Taj mahal.

Some people could not understand the real intent of nisheethriddhi.I pray to God to give these people power to understand..

  • remarkable song

  • ab to aisa song hi nahi banta, na woh log raha ,na woh likhna wala raha.

  • Unbelievably sweet Voice of Latadidi, with unbelievable range and a gift of maintaining sweetness even in the top octave without sounding shrill. Oh how I Miss such songs and singers these days. Salute to Sachin Da & sahir bhai

  • one of the gems from the golden era of hindi film music 1950 65 from burman dada sahir sahab duo this great combination of music director s d burman and sahir ludhinavi was to end after their evergreen work for film pyaasa it is said the end of this hyper creative duo came to an end because of ego problems between dada and sahir and soon dada start to work with third rate lyricsts like majrooh and and bakshi

  • @snfab1 Sachinda had no ego problems. It was Sahir who had a big ego. Read Guru Dutt's biography by Sathya Saran.

  • @snfab1 And Majrooh and others were not 3rd rate.

  • As a Pakistani, I think partition was very very unfair. India retained Mohammad Rafi and Taj Mahal. As far as female singers are concerned, It was not a big loss for Pakistan. Noor Jehan for Pakistan and Lata for india. It is justice. Nothing is unfair in it.

  • @mskhalidch --I wont say it was fair or unfair i but I think Noorjehan did gud when she was in India as she got gud songs but her pakistani songs not at all sweet or melodies (she just shouted thr in those pak's old songs even) her meldoy left in INDIA only eg. Chandni raaten , Jawan hai mohabbat, Aawaz de kahan hai etc..

  • @mskhalidch

which kind of pakistani you are shame on you

  • @mskhalidch

To make things fare have you considered moving to India?

Partition took place for an ideology which is supreme than singers and buildings.

Lastly, people who just consider Noor Jehan's post partition songs clearly haven't heard or bothered to do so in the wake of making a baseless comment

  • It is such great song that I put the cassette on in my car stereo and allowed the volume break all silence into the great hillarious and very nice voice of Lata jee,,,,,I wish to go on long drives again with this Album of sweet Lata jee,,,,,,,,,All refreshing

  • Whenever ,i see clouds and moist breeze before rain ,it reminds me of this golden song.Long live lata ji .

  • No wonder the Pakistanis say partition was unfair to them as Lata and the Taj remained here.

  • @nisheethriddhi

Absolutely right. But we are all children of Hind and in view of our common civilization of over 7000 years we must and will come together in peace.

  • lataji's voice sure to bring diabetics , sweetness beyond imagination. thanks for posting

  • my alltime fav since childhood . lataji's girlish innocent voice, sahir's poetry [who was known more for his serious, sensitive lyrics ] reflecting so much joy and sd burman's lilting music combine to produce an evergreen ,enchanting melody which is also a great mood uplifter.adorable song that can be heard endlessly

  • ... that can be heard endlessly
