In my eyes a true blue Van Halen fan loves both era's. It's stupid to just ignore the Hagar years, just as it would be stupid to ignore the Roth years. I'm one of a remote few that both respect and love Van Halen from start to finish, with Roth and Hagar.

@guitarjunkie5150 - Gary Cherone, was was the singer for Extreme in the 80's, and is now back with them. But being that he was only on one Van Halen record, I didn't see that he needed to be mentioned. He did okay with Van Halen, but he was better fit with Extreme.

2004 was horrible for him. I've seen him with his shirt off in 2004, I was shocked to see how frail he was. I felt that there was no way he could committ to a summer tour that had been EXTENDED until november of 2004.

I saw this 04 Halen reunion tour with Sammy and it was god awful man!! Sammy didn't even sound that good on some songs and looked like he was ready to give birth any minute. Ed was sloppy drunk most of the tour and sounded really bad! The only ones that held it together were Alex & Mikey. On the other hand I caught the 07/08 Halen Tour with Roth and it was AWESOME people!! Put the 04 tour to shame!! Thank god the Van Gaygar era is over with man!! Halen kicks ass with Roth again!!
Go back to your trailer Hannersledge. I also saw both tours and they both kicked ass. however, Dave couldn't hit any notes. It did kick alot of ass to see all those old VH tunes with Dave. Ive survived every incarnation of VH and now Im just glad that Sammy and Mikey left the band to go do there own thing. Those two were half the magic of Van Hagar and theyre still creating some awesome music, even without Eddie and Alex...RIP
Yeah "Sauce Sobolewski [Michael Anthony's real last name] is out touring with the Cabo Wabo clown. I got no problem with these guys, but they're billing themselves as the other half of Van Halen. They're out there selling hot sauce and tequila and playing Van Halen songs. It just makes them a cheesy Halen cover band in my opinion.

I saw this 04 Halen reunion tour with Sammy and it was god awful man!! Sammy didn't even sound that good on some songs and looked like he was ready to give birth any minute. Ed was sloppy drunk most of the tour and sounded really bad! The only ones that held it together were Alex & Mikey. On the other hand I caught the 07/08 Halen Tour with Roth and it was AWESOME people!! Put the 04 tour to shame!! Thank god the Van Gaygar era is over with man!! Halen kicks ass with Roth again!!

Go back to your trailer Hannersledge. I also saw both tours and they both kicked ass. however, Dave couldn't hit any notes. It did kick alot of ass to see all those old VH tunes with Dave. Ive survived every incarnation of VH and now Im just glad that Sammy and Mikey left the band to go do there own thing. Those two were half the magic of Van Hagar and theyre still creating some awesome music, even without Eddie and Alex...RIP

Yeah "Sauce Sobolewski [Michael Anthony's real last name] is out touring with the Cabo Wabo clown. I got no problem with these guys, but they're billing themselves as the other half of Van Halen. They're out there selling hot sauce and tequila and playing Van Halen songs. It just makes them a cheesy Halen cover band in my opinion.

thanks mate!! another common sense thinker!! think about it people, where would van halen be between 1985 to 1996 without sammy, certainly not with roth! sammy wrote a lot of other lyrics besides love lyrics, is that the only excuse you sammy haters can find?? at least they were all original, not like roths cover tunes from their unsucessful diver down album. I rather listen to "why can't this be love" than fuckin "dancing in the street" or "happy trails"
