Myst was to the Sierra games what Elder Scrolls is to Bioware RPGs.
They both prove that the gaming audience will always be willing to sacrifice a degree of character interaction in exchange for a sense of wonder and exploration.
@Melnorme A shame really. It means that a game doesn't need to be good. It just needs to provide exploration for the player. After all, games are played mostly for escapism, not for intellectual expansion.
If you ever visited an adventure game forum in the late 90s you would know the most asked question every day was "When is Space Quest VII coming out?"
I have an original copy of Freddy Pharkas on CD. It does not have a text option. Als,it need noting again that back in the day demo's of games like Space Quest 6 were not parts of the original game. I have 2 demo's from a 1995 Looking Glass game called Terra Nova: Task Force Centauri, one has a complete new mission, and the other has two complete new missions! between these "original" demo's and the games, we got great value for money back then!
Sorry but Space Quest 6 ruined the damn series. It was ugly, non-funny and really really buggy. The graphics were ugly as hell. Rest of his games rock, but that one, sucks big time ^_^
Very surprised you didn't talk to Josh about his work on the King's Quest fangames, reprising his role as Graham as well as his short involvement with The Silver Lining and Space Quest 7. I'm assuming that's the last part of the interview, it was a bit of an abrupt ending but if there is more to it then my apologies. Other than that it was a great piece, thank you.
Have you thought about getting anyone from Dynamix? Would love to hear about Earthsiege/Starsiege and Tribes. Scott Youngblood would be awesome, but I'm guessing he's pretty busy these days with Firefall.

@DragoonBoom
That would depend upon by what criteria you judge a game to be good, now wouldn't it.

I used to play Return to Zork. In my opinion it was better than Myst.

i liked sierra games better than lukas. Lukas felt more for kids (i was a kid then still i felt that) specially quest for the glory series
