  • Makes me suddenly being a bit proud being a German. :D

  • What They are saying is sooo true!!!

  • amo la polera que lleva puesta john wesley!!

  • porcupine tree seem to fit into small, dark clubs a lot better than the festival stage...

  • bylam tam wtedy

  • Steven has earrings?? :O Also, this is the first time i've seen him since the Lightbulb Sun era wearing sunglasses.

  • Steven Wilson with earrings?? :O

  • HIS SHIRT SAYS PUNK ROCK XD

  • are there any other videos from this concert???

  • i was there ^^

  • holy shit! the energy from this band is...10 miles high...at least.

  • how does he headbang and not loose his glasses? I always wondered that.

  • @Ajepson2 Because glasses are created to stay on the face. Most glasses that aren't sunglasses are shaped after whoever is wearing them's face. You can wear glasses whilst headbanging, rollercoasters and all sorts of rapid-movement activities.

  • @Ajepson2 duct-tape.... repairs and fixes everything since 1942

  • GASP! BARBIERI SPOKE!!!!!!! HIS EXSPRESSION......IT......CHHHANGED!!!!XD

im not making fun, its just an every recording of him hes all blank and doesent speak.

  • HE MENTIONED MUSE! YES!! Ahh, that makes me feel better. Now, I'm 14 and I have just discovered Steven Wilson and Porcupine Tree and all of their greatness, but I have been a fan of Muse for a long time and well... I don't know... I'm just relieved he doesn't think they're crap.

  • @kawaiipanda24 Why would it matter whether or not he likes muse?

  • gavin is e'ffen sweet

  • For lots of entertaining videos, claymations, and good original music, please check out The Rupert Selection's channel at RupertTV! We're a progressive rock band from Massachusetts.

  • Just tell me how then.... I've hardly seen any mistakes out of him, and he adds a lot to the band live too (See Way Out of Here live)

  • i saw them in november

that concert totally rocked... it was just amazing

  • This amazing song reminds me of Jethro Tull's My God.

  • For some strange reason i get goosebumps when wilson starts to belt out those lyrics of halo at 4:12 .. am i the only one? bloody great track

  • @ProgDogMan same here. :)

  • @ProgDogMan I fucking love it to!

  • @ProgDogMan not the only one man! ha

  • i wouldn't really enjoy a band like porcupine tree playing outdoors, they lose the whole atmosphere that they would have with darkness and a mean light show etc.

  • lol dthe crowd sux , i would headbang till my neck .... ^^

  • "we're porkupine tree"......

    fukin right!!!

The Incident- best rock albim in 2009 me thinks-

  • Amazing band! My favorite! As for me they are the best band in the world!

  • This rock band has and amazing sound. I really love it. PT change my life...

  • Dead crowd...

  • SW looks handsome without a beard and how i wish my country's media were willing to show their concert. Any PT live show pwns the pussy dog shit you see on the tv these days.

  • Do I sense the smallest amount of playback on the backing vocals there?

  • nope its, the Rythm guitarist;) I cant remember his name but he has a high pitched voice kinda ;)

  • No, listen carefully, there's definitely more than 2 voices there, and it sounds curiously similar to the record. I've seen them live, and they do use (a little bit) of playback.

  • John Wesley

  • Thx, cant believe i forgot :P

  • @landsberger64 no, it's the guitarist. you can see/hear him on 'way out of here' live video.

  • gavin harrison fucking destroys, by the way.

  • ..hehe.. Yessss..1 dec and then we all phuck for peace

  • stupid crowd!!!

  • Do they have many fans in Germany?

  • probably, they have a strong krautrock influence in much of their music, especially the earlier stff

  • ive been to a concert of theirs a year ago or so and i saw alot of people from the older rock generation, but even more young fans who probably, like me found out about this band throughout the internet and word of mouth.

  • Many enough to tour here, me included :D

  • Loved the interview. The keyboard player is the man

  • Yes! And so goddamn underrated and unappreciated .. =|

  • so true. Richard Barbieri is a God in my eyes. When I first got into porcupine tree back when In Absentia came out, I had never heard keyboards like that. so atmospheric.

  • Oh yes, Steven has a halo around his head!

  • i can see it too

  • Haha, when he says "bands like Muse, Sigur Ros, Radiohead, Tool, Mars Volta" etc he was pretty much listing my favourite artists along with Porcupine Tree.

  • yeah yeah yeah Pocupine TRee are T-O-O-L-fans <3

  • er... I'm not

  • just love PT, love Steven ... love all their music!

    greetings from Colombia!

  • Porcupine Tree is one of the greatest band on this decade.

    And greetings from Venezuela! =)

  • Wow Steven is able to pronounce "Dankeschön" you don't see that so often

  • Are the videos of the actual performance floating around anywhere?

  • This song, and video seriously gives me goosebumps.... such an amazing band and performance, especially went steven belts those last few words out

  • :-O

  • im meeting with john wesley in a month or so

  • Ypma, you're nuts!! John Wesley is an absolutely amazing guitarist!

  • wtf is john wesley doing there.... I HATE HIM!!!!!!!!!

  • Seeing them in October this year XD

  • best band on planet earth but they arent on stage... sorry pals =D

  • what do you mean 'sorry pals' ? Don't state it like it's a fact, it's your personal opinion. There's no such thing as "The best band in the world" anyway.

  • dewd! like you said: personal opinion.

  • W00T!!!!!

  • In your mind, as you watch this video, pretend that Steve Wilson has Sideburns and red-tinted Round-framed glasses.

    Shit bricks.

    =]

I absolutely Love Porcupine tree, and I absolutely love Steve Wilson. (Even though he looks like he could be the long lost third son of John Lennon) =p

  • Are those the boys from Editors at the start of the clip?

  • I just now discovered PT and now I am hooked. I am a fan of Peter Gabriel, Camel, and PT is the best music I have heard in years. I have bought 4 albums so far, In Absentia is my favorite. Gavin Harrison is awesome! Put him right up with Manu Katche but with more diversity of style.

Since Steven always talks about Tool, is there an album of there's you might recommend?

  • you have to listen the album aenima of tool its one of the bests also the last one: 10000 days.

  • TOOL ALSO RULZZ M8!!!

Lateralus, Vicarious, Aenima, Parabola, Schism, Sober, Stinkfist, fantastic songs, and like he says in the video, Muse, Radio head w/e are all fantastic bands!

  • Tool is the coolest yes I concur.

  • damn PT rocks!

look at SW headbang! man!! it's awesome!

  • Steven, his name is Steven, not Steve.

  • ahaha who cares if it's "Steve" or "Steven." He's awesome.

  • David Gilmour doesn't like to be called Dave. I wonder if Steven Wilson doesn't like to be called Steve?

  • during the interview steve wilson looks exactly like mitch headburg

  • steve should grow a beard

  • NO!

  • i was there =) u can see me next to gavin harrisons crash cymbal

  • hurricane festival,scheeßel,lower saxony,germany 2007 : pearl jam aso. saw PT,saw gavin harrison - what a drummer !!

  • i want steve's shirt....

  • TO HIM TO THEM... A MILLION HUGS...

    ~~Drifting Apart

  • UR WELCOME IN THIS HOUSE, STEVE!!!! THIS HOUSE, CALLED...CHILE... JA, MUAC....ILOVEYÙ ...ATTE, JAVIERA

    ~~Drifting Apart

  • what guitar does wilson play?

  • PRS

  • I started listen to PT through Gavin harrison cause im a drummer and i think he is a godly drummer and they sound freaking good! 5 stars

  • god either PT played the first show of the day, or the crowd sucks.

  • true..the crowd does suck

  • Hm? you think youre cool, right? I tell you this, one of three americans die of cancer, You know? asshole. youre gonna be one of those. I can't kick your ass directly. I would, you know. Fuck you. die. bastard. And if I ever see your fucking face around, In europe or germany Well Ill that time Im gonna kick your ass. Fuck you. fucking americans, yankee. Youre gonna die outta cancer, I promise. I want your balls smashed, eat shit. bastard.
  • Zeman..I just wanted to tell you that I love you..no one has ever spoken to me with such emotion, such conviction..such..LOVE...God Bless you zeman!

  • haha, this is a qoute from tool. it is the message to Harry Manback from Tool's AEnima album, am i right? I think its an answering mashine message what they've put on their album

  • girly navy man wishes his country was relevant.....

  • it was like 2pm and everyone had just got up.

  • gavin harrison's a monster

  • true that. he looks like a superhero when he's playing his drums up on stage. it's just so amazing how godly he is.

  • yes, he is godly his dvd is awesome!!

  • they are the best

  • \/ Well, that's one thing that's so great abut PT: they are diverse, their music and style is varied, they have no boundaries to restrict their creative movement. They speak many musical languages, and if the size of their following - how "big" they are - is any indication of how well they can communicate to people, then clearly PT can do it very well. Many people the world over can get something meaningful and beautiful from them. And that's one reason why I love them too.

  • i last seen PT in 1999.

i only know em up to signify... it seems they now have a whole new following, metal heads etc.

i got into em on the back of space rock...seen em supporting bands like gong and ozrics (1995/6).

they are quite big now it seems...

  • HANGING A HALO AROUND MY HEAD *headbang*

  • Now I'm gonna be wondering why Steven Wilson isn't the one who sings the last line in the song on this performance. There live guitarist/backup vocalist doesn't suit PTs sound nearly as well as Wilson, not to mention he's just not as good. Weird.

  • Agreed. Steven, Gavin, Colin and Richard are all very special musicians. John Wesley is not. He's just a session player in the worst sense, and (for me) spoils the live PT experience.

  • "just a session player"? being a session musician as a career requires an incredible amount of musical skill and versatility. john wesley's an incredible musician up to par with anyone else in the band...though i do agree his falsetto vocals can be annoying on some songs like HAIAL where he struggles a bit, but usually they're super tight along with his guitar playing IMO.

  • U r a cock.

  • wtf ? are you crazy? this guy is amazing live with PT... just saw The Incident tour last week.. john was amazing

  • Wesley is fucking brilliant. I have all his solo albums, and he is fucking brilliant. He doesn't do anything other than ADD to the machine that is Porcupine Tree, and I have nothing more than brutal respect for him.

He's a brilliant guitarist, writer, vocalist and human.

    Furthermore, fuck you.

  • I've never seen this band playing live, and im dying to get a chance to see them perform.

There are a lot of videos on Youtube, of Wesley's backing vocals and guitar playing in PT live. And he really adds something to the live sound of the band. I found his voice really warm and mellow. Lazarus, the final part on Anesthetize, and many others. He doesn't sucks ;).

    The whole band is amazing.

  • the bests

  • Warum zu Hölle war ich icht dabei ?????? :D

  • Gavin harrison... my god. PT are simply the greatest band around. I've been into them for 10+ years now and people are only just starting to catch on!

  • were the hell were they playing?

  • I think Blackest Eyes and Halo

  • i know that, but i meant the event...what event is this?

  • this was on the hurricane festival in germany, i think in 2007

  • Yeah, last year on Hurricane and Southside. They were great. ;)

  • is this at southside festival 2007? i was there, there was lot of wind but that makes it more magic

  • sooo good

  • Just imagine Steven Wilson writing the music, Roger Waters on the lyrics and Jordan Ruddess playing it while Klaus Meine sings

  • We don't need to: you can't get better than the perfection that PT already are :-).

  • hehe, as amazing as that sounds it wouldn't be as genuine as listening to what each of those artists have produced on their own!

  • Yeah...Except Steven Wilson is a better lyricist than Roger Waters...

No offense intended. I love Pink Floyd. And it could be argued that Roger waters comes up with better themes.

  • imagine MJK from Tool singing in P Tree. that would be cool to see

  • one of the best bands ever

  • you mean THE best band ever.

  • =)))

  • BEST BAND EVER!!!!!!

  • steven looks pretty divine on that stage, with that hair-blowing going on and stuff. john looks like a rockstar, colin is serenity itself again.

    thanks for putting this op.

  • Fantastic performance. Love you guys!

  • great!!!!

  • Awesome! I <3 PT.

  • pretty damned sweet
