Not really a "Secret" hehe. Like stated, most cutscenes done in games now have them done in the map of that scene.

this is obvious most games have things already there for cutscenes so that they dont have to spawn because that would (depending on your comp) make it slower.

Seems Id Software is special for those video statues XD In Return to Castle Wolfenstein where you are on the dam and use the fly cheat you also can find the plane which had flight you to the area. :) So there is also such a thing like this hehe.

@ChisponGroxo to capture with fraps and NOT lose any performance, you need to have the game you're capturing installed on a different hdd (hard drive) and not on the same one with fraps. so install DOOM3 for example on c:/ and fraps on d:/. and save the videos on d:/

I bet the tool they used to build the levels had some kind of "Door + Panel" function or something, so it was much easier just to stick a door and panel there than build a fake one.

I wonder if that hidden keycard would open those doors...

Hmm..they probably put it in all one spot to save file space. By having the movies loaded with the level, there's no wait time between the boss and the movies. Interesting though how they made a function panel in a spot where nobody should be able to reach...
