What's still amazing this isn't there best proformance of this song. There orginal on the Big Gig was far better but still this moves me in ways other artists singing this haven't.
I challenge any three people to pick up a guitar and do that that song better.
Although Paul is the centre piece of that clip, full credit MUST go to Tim And Richard. Their harmonies are second to none. Kudos to the three of them.
this is the absolute best cover i have heard of this, and it still gives me chills hearing these guys sing it. i actually prefer the dougs to the original artists. we miss you guys. does anyone know where i can get this song on cd?
@creamysodarevenge a live(ish) version it was released on vinyl and cassette, (mostly canberrans and Fan club members got it. it was on the B side of Bottle
This version is great, as is the one they did at the AFI awards in 1989(?) with a full orchestra. I used to have that on video until someone taped over it. I still have it on audio, fortunately.
We had this on a single cassette tape from the Icon album. Absolutely magic. As much as people dis Paul and the gang it can't be overlooked their covers were always such works of art. Thanks for posting!!!
Oh my GOD I can't get over how much I love their harmonies!!! They're all so great in this!! EVERY time I've heard them do a rendition of a cover, I always like their version better!!!! Paul has such emotion in his voice, especially when he says 'soul' in the chorus... gahhh I'm in love with him and his voice.
Can Paul McDermott be knighted? Sir Paul McDermott sounds good...

Paul's actually an atheist. Not sure about Tim or Richard, but apparently Tim has said that he has MS and sometimes needs a cane to walk.

It's astounding that they're Catholics and they swear and act so vulgur and yet they hold onto great musical talents and angelic voices.
