John was an amazing guitar player. I tried to get him to do a video with closeups of just the guitar and showing how he played various songs. He actually started on the project, but said that he couldn't just sit there by himself in front of the camera...and he wasn't sure people would be interested. This is a great example of what could have been.
What a shame that never got finished. Do you(or anyone) know if he used open tunings at all or if he stuck to the standard tunings? I had in mind to try and ask him for tips on how to play Dreamers On The Rise but I left it too late.
As we grow older, MELLOW seems mighty nice.
