Shrapnel flew damn near everywhere and that's why he fell. When that thing exploded we were approx two feet from it and I was the only one of the three unscathed. The dryer literally blew into pieces. That's the complete outer shell that separated and flew into the air for 5 seconds.

Easily. But you must make sure they are colored, not gold, sparklers and they must contain magnesium. I bought 2000 sparklers this season from a fireworks store and come to find out this manufacturer quit producing them with magnesium for safety reasons. lol

Well when the dryer blew up we were still within two feet of it and the dryer split apart and little shrapnel and pieces flew outward. The top and side slammed my other buddy to the ground and he needed 8 stitches in his face and had a bruise that ran from his ankle to just below his groin that was solid purple for about a month and a half.

Well we had made several smaller ones with about 200 sparklers and used a single sparkler sticking up as the wick but when we stepped it up to 500+ we decided to use 3 sparklers for a wick and you're supposed to leave the top open and uncovered so there is a much bigger surface area to ignite... Bad news. Lesson learned = use cannon fuse for the big ones. lol

Not when the falling sparks instantly ignite the rest of the surface area of the other 500+ sparklers. I would say try it... But I obviously wouldn't condone that. lol

Well i Guess this was a one in a million event because we sure as hell didn't light it and stand there like idiots waiting for something to happen. we used three sparklers for a wick and they were approx. 6 inched out from the top. We also used the sparklers that have red wood sticks, which light much easier than your typical metal rod sparkler. They also have at least three times the chemical compound on each sparkler than a standard #08 color sparkler. Many contributing factors though.
