So I tribute two monsters plus my dark illusionist to get relinquished. And then relinquished doesn't work on his facedown card....but I was going to win the game anyway. But it goes to show how useless rituals are, since if u ever get the chance to use them u are probably already dominating the duel

you can't use monster effects on second turn

Whenever I get change of heart or brain control I use their monster as an offering for my more powerful ones. Their monster is gone and I have a more powerful one.

Any card that relies on "strongest monster" (relinquished) or "weakest monster" (fissure in eternal duelist soul) can't activate when the opponent has only face down monsters.

In this game if remember right you cant use effects if your monster was left face up for a turn. Same goes I think if it was in defense mode and someone uses swords of revealing light on you, not sure. I think if you had put it in defense mode, it mightve stayed till used it, into attack, or got attacked. Or it only lasts for the turn you summon it, I wouldnt be suprized with this game. Also sad how the big bad slysheen has a teddy bear card.

@sitharc also you know when summon something it has HID under its type? Only when we you see that can you activate an ability, if it has one to be triggered.

relinquish works like a flip monster in this game, when hes flipped his effect activates, if was flipped and then a turn went by without his effect being used you cant use it.

you can only use effects once they are set

You can't use relinquished on face down monsters? That would be my guess...

You can only use an effect when your monster is Hidden. Meaning as soon as you put it down, and (probably) if you left it in Def mode. Leaving it in Atk or using your Special makes it not hidden anymore
