Only thing i don't get is how that is suppossed to be stabilised during the intense surface storms...will it not just be blown over?

I think people underestimate what sacrifices astronauts would be willing to make to go to and be the first Mars explorers. Think about it, most humans would give anything to be a part of that mission regardless of risks and crew comforts.
