Thanks for the comment. I try to keep all comments up, including the negative ones, unless there is swearing or gratuitous personal insults. Debate is good! I think the subject of consciousness is going to get more attention as the materialist approach becomes less and less appealing to more and more people.
At 56 seconds into this I can say with 100% certainty that when you die, you are dead. You are nothing more than matter. What you percieve to be your "soul" is just your brain's biochemical functions. When they stop, you will cease to exist forever. Since this reality of life is just too much for the average intellect to bare, the commoners grasp for relligion, superstition and the supernatural to comfort them with this delusion. There is no soul, heaven, hell, tooth fairy or Santa Clause.

You maybe right but you may be wrong - you cannot say anything 100% without logical deductive reasoning (which you havent provided so we assume you have none - hence you have just voiced your baselss OPINION - you THINK so with 100% certainty but you don't KNOW so - you THINK you know but you don't because you have no proof. You may be right but your 100% OPINION doesnt prove it. You may equally be wrong as you have no logical proof.
@edwardschlosser1 Smarter people than you have postulated far more sophisticated mechanisms for consciousness- Roger Penrose hypothesizes quantum sized microtubule exhibiting quantum mechanical behavior as a partial basis- not merely biochemistry as you contend. He also contends (with hundreds pages mathematical proof) that physical reality is born from mathmatics not vice versa- similarly others have hypothesized matter comes from consciousness not vice versa.

Don't you accept the proven fact of biological evolution? We know where we came from and where every living thing came from. Self-awareness and consciousness are products of our material brains. Neuroscience has demonstrated many phenomena that heretofore were thought to be "spiritual" or "metaphysical". If you have proof of the claims of this video, please present them.
