Honestly, my parents would end up paying more taxes if the riches were taxed more. But I'm Utilitarian, so I would rather pay higher taxes. Not all the money ended up in our hands fairly or by freedom. So being able to do whatever we do with the money we earned is only freedom in illusion.
Amen. And now they think it's sacrilege to address the START treaty before Christmas? So much for the concept of Peace on Earth to Republicans. Astonishing hypocrisy. Thanks for showing some backbone, Senator Reid.
If you're a millionaire under the Bush tax cut you get a $46,000 tax cut.
If you're a typical working person you get $227.
President George W. Bush only made tax cuts because in 1998 the budget was in surplus so why in the hell are Republicans trying to further bankrupt this country?
Hurray for the GOP! They slowed the Democrats in their attempt to destroy America! I hope this means the Democrats will not be fillibustering the GOP when they take over.
@Caleb6543 Actually you are illusioned. Republicans put earmarks on the bill so that the bill will become void. They like the static nature of their corporate funding. They don't want change/need change. They will mess a bill up just to make it look as horrible as it possibly can, so that Congress will be discouraged to pass anything. If they were doing this on a right issue, I would not say much, but at a time of abusive private sectors, we need some change away from these corporate needs.
Please vote nay on passing the tax bill! I can't afford another tax cut for the rich. I might be poor and have a part time job, but I'd rather pay the regular tax rate, rather than pay higher taxes down the road. Please, pass the Dream Act, and unemployment. If they're blocked, it falls on the Republicans, who care more about the rich and shameless.
