Had you had any self-control on your life in the first place, you could have learned to balance out the party life with something meaningful and put yourself on a good path all on your own. Instead of buckling down and taking charge of your own life, however, you just let the church set a path and direction and control for you. Now I'm not saying the church is 'controlling you' like 'corrupting you', but you simply let them tell you what to do because it's just easier to follow than lead.
