I have never actuall seen crude oil being shiped via metal barrels. Sure refined oils like gear and motor oil are shiped in bulk barrels. Never crude oil.

Not sure about the US but all oil production is Metered, these meters are calibrated by independant testers at regular intervals. These meters are also read by government and are how roayalty payments are calculated. This makes it very hard to steal production. The directional drilling as another post pointed out has a very limited range. Canada, mainly Alberta and Sask. Export alot of oil and gas. Much more than we consume ourselves. Most of this is sent to the US via pipeline.

As an Albertan who has lived and worked around the oil industry all my life i have to point out a few things. Drilling rigs don't produce oil they only drill the well then move to another site. A Completion Rig then completes the well. This involves the "Fracking" operation. Then there is a flow testing rig that measures the wells production rates, oil, natural gas and water preasures and flow rates. Most oil and gas shiped in tanker trucks or pipelines not in actual metal barrels.

I dont know, you can only drill maybe 10 or 12 thousand feet horizontal, so the idea that Canada is going to "such us dry" with rigs along the border is silly. Also the vast majority of the mineral wealth of Canada is owned and consumed by americans. Also 200 years ago Wyoming had no white people in it. It had virtually no settilers until after the civil war, and Murders of often "jury nullyfied" by locals, its not a conspirocy

Yes. Pretty interesting. I'm shocked that usa people's earnings are being stolen from them. Who'd have thought it eh? I'm sure that the politicians in washington mustn't be aware of this. (There oughta be a law - hehe).
