The reason why it's not as tight is cause the So Real dancers who are the actual modern dancers for UH were on the World of Dance Tour. So they couldn't dance at Goodphil. But they won 1st place at the World of Dance Tour.
On behalf of UT FSA I would like to apoligize for Franks words and would like to congratulate UH on their second place overall finish. We do not agree with Franks statements and any drama caused as a result. It took real heart to pull out a performance in only a month. Congratulations to all FSA'ers and (PhilSA) for representing their respective colleges this year and more Congrats to UTSA for hosting. Good luck everyone at Goodphil 2009.

Before calling another school's dance "crap," please watch your school's past performances. Those were really crappy. For you to say something like that is horrible, and if you were the president in 04 then you must be old. Move on with your life. Well I didn't want to put it up but I kept telling one of my friends about the performance and she wouldn't believe that UH would just throw the contest (that was when we still thought they were disqualified). I didn't know I would be the only person with no life and would be the first one to put the video up on youtube.
lol couldn't anyone tell that these kids weren't trying? their real squad was tearin it up elsewhere at a much higher level of competition. these UH guys didn't know they weren't going to have their modern dance folks until about a month before goodphil. i commend them for doing this, they just wanted to have fun. if they would have tried to come up with something in a short amount of time, they would have made fools of themselves. props to UH!
yall dont know the backstory on why it looks like this. UH doesn't have its dancers this year due to..."other obligations"
last time i checked, goodphil was about bonding with the other schools based on our heritage and culture, not on how good the dances were. so for everyone that thinks UH has a bad rep this year at goodphil, at least they overcame adversity by competing without the help of the "hyped" dance routines normally seen. they performed just for the enjoyment, not to compete.
Ok ya knowing the back story, I'll give these guys props for getting up there and trying to do something. But while we do bond during goodphil, the dances are still a competition. UH themselves hype it up and make it a really big deal.
like what others have said..the UH modern team actually competed in kali w/ other west coast dance teams..and they actually represented houston really well..they won 1st place at WOD this year...they deserved the recognition they needed =) goodjob SOREAL aka UH dancers!
