  • I would NOT want to be the crew chief that last serviced that landing gear.

  • This is nothing the F-15 flew and landed before with only one wing. It is still the UNDEFEATED FIGHTER!!!

  • Thats one hellava landing talk about close call

  • Notice World Airways (Freedom Bird) at the end...hey, I've been on that one several times...LOL...

  • that was in japan i remeber that

  • Well, good job salvaging a bunch of the plane saving taxpayer money. Stuff happens.

  • @kwmkc13 that was in japan i remeber that

  • @666DarkEgo I don't think the pilot purposely made only 2 gears come down, much less has the ability to do so. Also, it isn't a public airfield dumb ass, its Kadena AB. Know what you're talking about before you open your mouth.

  • @mustangfreak its called having a sense of humor dumb ass. know what your talking about before you open your mouth

  • @666DarkEgo i read down the list and oh my god that is funny. good joke, no one knew you were being funny.

  • @666DarkEgo yeah sorry but the comment sounds like something an igorant person who makes their own reality would say. no offense your just wrong. and believe it or not, sometimes, planes, they crash. i know crazy but its true you should google it.

  • @666DarkEgo It was an IFE, little do u know about acft, geographics,& political renderings. Guess u never been there.

  • @666DarkEgo I don't think a cheeseburger would stop a high-quality piece of military hydraulics. I also fail to see how it makes anyone look bad, it's a simple mishap caused by equipment failure. Obviously a cause will be found, a fix applied, and that's the end of that.

  • I see a tail hook on the F-15. One hell of an emergency landing.

  • for anybody that wants to know, the gear either did not lock or the locking mechanism failed on landing. I fly an F/A-18C and that is a very typical landing with a rare failure.

  • Hey it's CNNN :)

  • no shit its going to break when you slam it into the ground that hard

  • i can tell your not a pilot

ya they are made to be slammed alot harder then that. you cant flare as much in those due to the extremely high normal operating speed and approach speed

  • And I can tell that you're not a pilot Adamkona.

Extremely high in comparison to what? The approach speed in an F15 is nothing hugely different from any other fighter/strike aircraft. But yes, you are right, the landing wasn't particularly hard at all, so clearly it was some mechanical problem with the gear.

  • haha wrong my friend...

the aspect ratio of an F-15 is extremelly small therfore its approach speed and flaring speed are extremelly high. It has the highest approach speed of any other fixed wing attack aircraft. I agree completely that is was a mechanical error.

what makes you think i am not a pilot?

  • No, wrong. The F15, in both variations, has a landing speed of 150KIAS, which is what, maybe 20-30KIAS more than a standard fighter aircraft?

  • lived there at Kadena 1994-1998. HH-60G Pave Hawk 33rd Rescue Squadron.

  • i was there when it happened, i didn't see it first hand but i saw the after math when i had to work on the jet

  • wow.. nice work by the pilot... you can hear the other jet going around when it collapses

  • Kadena Air Force Base, Okinawa Japan. I worked on that base for 1 month. VMFA 225 Vikings. And 2 years on MCAS Futenma. Semper Fi.

  • that was aweseom work by the pilot.

  • The Pilot survived thats the best part and second best is that the news reader is super sexy

  • oh yes man
