Being #1 in the world means you were the best player for the last 52 weeks
Winning a slam means you were the best player in 7 matches in 2 weeks
It takes a special brand of simpleton not to appreciate what an achievement being number one is, and although most if not at all players would prefer slams, it's a pretty sweet thing to achieve.
You say you don't care and yet you're taking the time to comment on numerous Federer clips, usually commenting on how his opponents played badly or were injured and that's why he won. Just out of curiosity, why do you bother?
Anyway, I watched a lot of Federer's matches both 05 and 06 and I think he was hitting the ball better in 05. Doesn't really matter anyway, I doubt he cares and I certainly don't.
By the way, arguing on youtube is sad and I'm gonna stand down from this embarrassment.
I would include 2007 in there, considering he won more slams in that year than in 2005, plus the Masters Cup. I wouldn't say he played his best tennis in 2005. I would say he played his best tennis in 2006, considering he reached 16 finals out of 17 tournaments played, finished with a 92-5 record, won 4 Masters Series events, the Masters Cup and won 3/4 slams and reached the final of all 4 slams.
First off, slam wise, 2005 and 2006 are pretty similar. The only difference is that in 2005 he played a red hot Safin, both guys playing their best and he got beaten. Simple. Roland Garros, the same as 2006 except he faced Nadal a round earlier. Lost in 4 sets as he did he following year. Dismantled Roddick at Wimbledon in 05 and was pushed to four sets by Nadal, US - 05 Agassi, 4 sets, 06 Roddick, 4 sets. Pretty similar. I mean, it's pretty even, he just faced in form players when he lost in 05
i always thought it was the other way round two hands would give you more control but lose power due to less movement where as the one hander is harder to control to to only one arm being used but as more power because tis more flexable
it is as you say ... a proof of that is federer or kuerten, they don't have big muscles but they are very flexible so they hit the backhand with great range of motion which ends up in a very powerful shot ... on the other hand 2 hand backhand hitters need more muscle power as there is less range.
They two are the same kind..Both same height, both had long hair and they have the same style of play. Just Federer is better using his weapons, also Federer one handed backhand is better then Moya's two handed backhand. But before 2004, Moya & Federer was very alike, and much the same player's..But Federer extended his game, Moya never did sadely..
i think they have pretty different styles!! the forehand is totally different!! moya is holding his racket more stiff, that doesn't mean it's bad, no it's pretty amazing!! also he is running around his backhand a lot more than federer does.
Federer barely evolved from here, this was basically his very peak, 2004-2006 were obviously peak. 2005 he played his best tennis. He maintained and won more but he didn't evolve, that's bullshit.
DeLenoy, Moya and Federer are not alike and were never alike at all. First Moya is a clay court player in the first place, and he puts more emphasis on his forehand than Federer, as in using the forehand whenever he possibly can, especially that inside out forehand. Backhand is quite different as Moya rarely uses a slice backhand. And tactically, Moya rarely slows down the pace of the rally, as he seems to rather hit big shots most of the time.
how can moya be overrated you fucking idiots if he's been a Grands Slam champion, ranked #1 in the world, Davis Cup winner and a top 10 player for more than half of his 13 year old carrer ???
him being one of the best players of the last 10 years is a fact !!
nobody's sayin he's federer, sampras, agassi or borg. but he's far from overrated.
His forehand is the greatest and the hardest on the tour, yes it's bad he has a weak back, but he is previously world number one and Roland Garros Champion, a clay courter. Good serve to and fantastic feeling..
You have got to be kidding me if you think it's the greatest or hardest forehand in the world. Federer has the greatest forehand in the world; he can do so many things with it. It's powerful, got tons of spin, and his placement is near perfect. It's the best!
There are many on tour who can hit harder than Moya. Moya is overrated. He is outclassed now. Stop living in the past!
Federer runs around his back a lot of the time... Moya sucks yet Federer hasn't been able to win the French Open? I'm a Federer fan, but I hate fags who talk shit about pros. If you are saying that he sucks, then lets see you turn pro fag, or at least become a top junior player, or at least be a top player in your state?

Shut the fuck up you dirty nigger! Federer hasn't won FO because of Nadal. Nadal is probably the greatest Clay Court Player in history!
Stop talking about Fed not winning the French because Fed has already won all the other Grandslams multiple times; he already has 12 Grandslams you dirty Nigger! Let's see if you can even hit a topspin. I would so kick your ass, but I'm afraid I would get HIV; HIV originanted from your dity monkeys when you raped some white girl, you ugly stupid nigger! ;)
even though it will never happen, i'm wishfully thinking that that year of Fed's dominance was matched with Djokovic's 2011

Moya gave federer a little taste of his own medicine in this match, back then he surely was a quite extraordinary tennisplayer.

this was wen fed was confident with his backhand
pian000 2 years ago
he has always been confident you numpty.
right handed single handed backhand
VS
left handed heavy topspin forehand
is just one of the worst match ups in terms of technique.
Against other shots he hits it just fine. Will never have the power of a two hander, but it has greater control

Agassi, that old bold man..He should have retired ages ago.
Only Pete Sampras is the best of the best.
Sampras new when too quit, at the top going out as Champion..Something Agassi should have done when he won Australian Open in 2003.
Moya, Kurten, Corretja, Kafelnikov, Rios they all good too..
