Anyway, I watched a lot of Federer's matches both 05 and 06 and I think he was hitting the ball better in 05. Doesn't really matter anyway, I doubt he cares and I certainly don't.

I would include 2007 in there, considering he won more slams in that year than in 2005, plus the Masters Cup. I wouldn't say he played his best tennis in 2005. I would say he played his best tennis in 2006, considering he reached 16 finals out of 17 tournaments played, finished with a 92-5 record, won 4 Masters Series events, the Masters Cup and won 3/4 slams and reached the final of all 4 slams.

First off, slam wise, 2005 and 2006 are pretty similar. The only difference is that in 2005 he played a red hot Safin, both guys playing their best and he got beaten. Simple. Roland Garros, the same as 2006 except he faced Nadal a round earlier. Lost in 4 sets as he did he following year. Dismantled Roddick at Wimbledon in 05 and was pushed to four sets by Nadal, US - 05 Agassi, 4 sets, 06 Roddick, 4 sets. Pretty similar. I mean, it's pretty even, he just faced in form players when he lost in 05

i always thought it was the other way round two hands would give you more control but lose power due to less movement where as the one hander is harder to control to to only one arm being used but as more power because tis more flexable

it is as you say ... a proof of that is federer or kuerten, they don't have big muscles but they are very flexible so they hit the backhand with great range of motion which ends up in a very powerful shot ... on the other hand 2 hand backhand hitters need more muscle power as there is less range.

Just Federer is better using his weapons, also Federer one handed backhand is better then Moya's two handed backhand. But before 2004, Moya & Federer was very alike, and much the same player's..But Federer extended his game, Moya never did sadely..

DeLenoy, Moya and Federer are not alike and were never alike at all. First Moya is a clay court player in the first place, and he puts more emphasis on his forehand than Federer, as in using the forehand whenever he possibly can, especially that inside out forehand. Backhand is quite different as Moya rarely uses a slice backhand. And tactically, Moya rarely slows down the pace of the rally, as he seems to rather hit big shots most of the time.
