  • This doesn't sound like anyone but El-P's production with Jay-Z's lyricism. You can hear clearly El-P's signature electronica influence. That you pinpointed a similar tune was coincidence. However, this remix doesn't improve the original. That's okay though because El-P might have just wanted to remix something he was feeling.

  • I got 99 lighters and cant find 1...

Juuuust saying. Also I know El-P's album covers aren't generally known for their coherency, but what's with the bird?

  • El-P love's his snares. Suprised there weren't any blaring trumpets

  • nautilus!

  • I love El P, so I say this gently, but this just sounds like a more cut up version of the Daytona 500 beat from Ghostface with a new bassline.

  • @themolar same sample my man

  • true

  • @themolar Initially, but less layered

  • @themolar it's not ilke he's the first prod. to flip a sample that's been used before and put his own spin on it.

  • @themolar

thats because he also used the Bob James "nautilus" sample. one of the most sampled tracks in hiphop.
