Well, the guy may have been in the African bush for 30 years and forgot/has never seen ice. To him 15 degrees Celsius may seem icy.

More to the point, you can easily get hypothermic in a lake during the summer, because water conducts and convexes your heat away well. Your core is 37 degrees, so anything cooler can be a problem if you get too tired to keep your body temp up.

what about my story? The two sibling female lions had a fight with the abuse male lion and they decided to dump him. With their three lovely lion cubs and the two female lions left the loser. The loser was following and begging for their forgiveness. But since they are royal, neither of them wanted to make the first move; the females tried to slow down on purpose to let the male makes his move, but this male was so arrogant. And that's it. the family splitted up. So Sad

Erm, of course they're afraid. The male could easily fight them off and kill all the cubs if he wanted to start a new pride with them. They wouldn't fight him to the death, they'd test him then back off if he was strong enough, which he looked to be.
