13 years ago, I went to a fireside at my bishop's house and this girl and her sister stood up to sing a song. They pushed play on the mini boom box and started to sing. I have never in my life heard such beautiful voices and I knew that no matter who originally sang the song, these girls did it better. Turns out it was Marla Bulliegh and her sister singing Mercy's Arms. It's better live, believe me. I've loved this song ever since.

Many years ago I went to EFY at BYU and they gave me this song on a disk at graduation. I fell in love with it immediately and learned every word. Later, I sang it every night to my pregnant belly... my son Ashton is now 13. I still know every word.
