The fastest sustained winds ever recorded in a tropical cyclone are 190 miles per hour, and the fastest gusts ever estimated are at just over 200 miles per hour. The tornado in this video had wind speeds recorded at almost 300 miles per hour. That's a big, big difference, and few buildings anywhere in the world could withstand them.
