@Artumis19 Left Roadrunner because they hiked their prices up by 10 bucks. Clearwire was new where i live and they were cheap.. I should have known you get what you pay for. It was good at first, but then the service got horrible, outages for 12 hours at a time sometimes. Would mostly only get 2-3 lights, 4 if i was lucky, but not much improvement in speed. Ended up leaving Clear and going back to Roadrunner and got my old rate back. I couldn't be happier! :)

comcast is better over in utah.. dam that is bad i know 4G and 3G ain't up there yet i wait if 8g if was free... but i rather stick comcast for xbox live games and other dsl things like time warner or windstream or quest. just stay away from 4g and 3g untill they get better at it.. clearwire is about bad connection as directway and hugesnet and wildblue and dialup the way i'm looking at videos.
I got clearwire to bro. I was also trying to play GOW2 and it takes forever to find a match... I thought it was just cause no one plays it anymore but I went to my friends house and played with his connection and it found a match quick, and your lucky you get five bars I only get 3 on a good day but it's mostly 1 or 2 bars.

I'm pretty sure i have the latest clear modem and live about three blocks from the tower and basically have the same issues with the load time when it comes to playing mw2/black ops. I was able to play online for about a minute until the game started lagging like crazy so i shut it down and ever since haven't been able to join in on any multiplayer game, which sucks donkey balls i should of kept my netgear router which i had connected to my cable modem smdh..

I have clear as well and mine doesnt run that slow, the servers are very crowded all the time, put ur modem near a window and check your ethernet cable and make sure its connected right. u may have to tweak ur settings on your xbox360 thats what i did i have both systems hooked up to my router, let me know if u need sum help changing ur settings

Honestly, Clear is not for anybody AT ALL. Pages even as simple as "yahoo.com" take forever to come up, let alone gaming or hd streaming. Videos on youtube barely run, even at the lowest playback quality settings. I think this company will end up shutting down, because they are already facing several real-time class action lawsuits for "deceptive advertising" - which is the above user, like many others, a victim of.

To help you out with connection problems try putting the internet in different areas of your house if I move my DSL to my kitchen table.It will get 150 ping at the most and it works fine too bad I can't move my xbox into the kitchen >_>.

Yup, I'm stuck with Clearwire, and it's horrible. I get an average of a 200+ ping on "full bars". Ya, I get a 3mb dl speed (which is 1mb under cable), but I only get an average of a .45 mb dl upload, which is way under cable. Oh, and of course, my speed varies based on how many people are online during the day.
I use Clear 4G service at home, at work, and at customer locations. The service itself and coverage are phenomenal and for the few issues I have had, Customer Care has been incredibly responsive and truly seems to care about the overall experience. I felt like my issue was taken seriously and that the agent was genuinely motivated to resolve my issue and ensure that I was very satisfied as a customer. I highly recommend Clear to anyone looking for an excellent, stable provider!
@Artumis19 DUDE U ARE AWARE that u could have always got the service without a contract. Also that you CAN cancel without termination fee. Just go through the process and the termination fee's will be waived.
My family has Clearwire, and the modem never reaches five bars. I freaking hate Clearwire. They gave us a crappy Belkin router that recently just stop working all together. Also, YouTube is really slow, and downloading usually is either very slow or very fast, no consistency. The employees won't help; they just keep telling us to unplug the modem for 15 seconds and plug it back in. My parents are thinking about leaving Clearwire. I hope so. I hate Clearwire.
Im sorry to hear that. I finally got rid of my Clearwire but they ripped me off saying that i had a 2 year contract when i signed in 1 year. I had to pay a $160 Termination fee.
cus that was the only way to use the internet and it was the only thing i can afford. thats why i signed for a 1 year but they changed it to 2 years. also i got it when i was living with my parents. now i live on my own
not sure if you know this or not, but you can get the service now without a contract. so your not stuck with a early termination fee. i understand your situation may have been awhile ago. but now there are ways to get around the crazy expensive early termination fee.
LOL! I have Clearwire for 2 weeks now and love it. We had Time Warner Cable Turbo Boost and I had speeds of 30meg down at times, and Youtube videos would buffer all the time with them, but with Clear I have no buffering. And all my games work just fine. Clearwire shows 10-12meg down most of the time here.

Clear is the new clearwire upgrade. Ther basic plan for clearwire is 1.5 megs or 1.0 for 29.99 plus taxes. The new Clear upgrade plan base downlink speed is 3.0 or 3.5. for the same price. It depends if you are in a upgrade market. People here are just impatient, some are rightfully unhappy and all but hey they accepted terms of service.

Honestly, nobody should buy a completely wireless modem like this and expect to be doing any wireless gaming. Clearwire type products are better for mobile use or if you live in an area that doesn't provide regular DSL or cable internet.
It's still fairly new technology though so I'm sure in due time it will be improved for gaming and everything else--but for now you should just stick to email and basic use with wireless ISP's (It's not just Clearwire that's like this)

There's a big hill block their signal to my house...spent 2 hours with techs ....they said I can't be save. so for the mobile, I went around town getting less than 1mb download. i have clearwire and it sucks but what ive tried is using a router and it kinda works better and then i did a speed test and i was getting .81mbps download speed and like .20 upload eventhough i pay for the 2mbps plan so i used this thing called tcpoptimizer and i set the setting to optimal and the thing to 2500 and ppoe on, so then i did another speed test and i got 1.81 mbps download and .45 upload!!! i know its still crappy but its better than it use to be so go to google and look up

I agree, clearwire advertises it's highest tier of home service as "gamer" level, but it's all lies. You simply can't play games using clearwire. Let alone stream movies. They need to get hit with a class action for deceptive marketing and service. I'm supposed to get 3mbps but I usually get 600-700 kbps, I'm going to downgrade back to 1mbps since it seems it won't go any faster. I usually get 4 bars in Portland, OR. Clear suxs....
first of all there are three spped that you can pay for i tried it in philly and i got 10mbps? try upgrading your service. 2nd gears suxs do a speed test to test your speed

My family has had clearwire for a while now, and we've been having problems with it for the longest. I just love how Clearwire just stops working while I'm in the middle of playing online, or updating my PS3 and Wii!
Sometimes it lets me get on (Like now) but when it does, it takes forever to load and upload a video, load pages, etc. I just wish that we can get a different internet provider real soon, because this is gettin ridiculous. >= /

Yup, I'm stuck with Clearwire, and it's horrible. I get an average of a 200+ ping on "full bars". Ya, I get a 3mb dl speed (which is 1mb under cable), but I only get an average of a .45 mb dl upload, which is way under cable. Oh, and of course, my speed varies based on how many people are online during the day.

The service itself and coverage are phenomenal and for the few issues I have had, Customer Care has been incredibly responsive and truly seems to care about the overall experience. I felt like my issue was taken seriously and that the agent was genuinely motivated to resolve my issue and ensure that I was very satisfied as a customer. My family has Clearwire, and the modem never reaches five bars. I freaking hate Clearwire. They gave us a crappy Belkin router that recently just stop working all together. Also, YouTube is really slow, and downloading usually is either very slow or very fast, no consistency. The employees won't help; they just keep telling us to unplug the modem for 15 seconds and plug it back in. My parents are thinking about leaving Clearwire. I hope so. I hate Clearwire.

not sure if you know this or not, but you can get the service now without a contract. so your not stuck with a early termination fee. i understand your situation may have been awhile ago. but now there are ways to get around the crazy expensive early termination fee.

LOL! I have Clearwire for 2 weeks now and love it. We had Time Warner Cable Turbo Boost and I had speeds of 30meg down at times, and Youtube videos would buffer all the time with them, but with Clear I have no buffering. And all my games work just fine. Clearwire shows 10-12meg down most of the time here.

Restrictions will always apply no matter what company u go with , check it out and before u subscribe to any ISP please always read terms of service and restrictions otherwise its your own fault. Clear is the new clearwire upgrade. Ther basic plan for clearwire is 1.5 megs or 1.0 for 29.99 plus taxes. The new Clear upgrade plan base downlink speed is 3.0 or 3.5. for the same price. It depends if you are in a upgrade market. People here are just impatient, some are rightfully unhappy and all but hey they accepted terms of service.

Well what happened with your trial? 7 days is a good enough time to experiment with the service to determine if its for you or not. Also..if your sitting at home why do u need a mobile internet connection? Why dont u just go with something more hardwired? Also speeds are estimated capabiltiies NOT guarenteed. WiMax tech is pretty much going to take over..people are also bitching about contracts cause they are victim to sales and marketing and dont read the fine print.

so i got my equipment this past weekend, the usb modem is ok dont really have a prob so far, but the house modem, well it wasnt as bad as i was thinking it would be. But im only getting 2 bars no matter where its located in my house. I got on ps network for the 1st time ever (its great by the way) my f.night r4 is slow, my nba live 10 is slow, but cod4 is good killzone2 is good tekken6 good. i have a few days b4 my trial is up not sure what i will do.

Honestly, nobody should buy a completely wireless modem like this and expect to be doing any wireless gaming. Clearwire type products are better for mobile use or if you live in an area that doesn't provide regular DSL or cable internet.
It's still fairly new technology though so I'm sure in due time it will be improved for gaming and everything else--but for now you should just stick to email and basic use with wireless ISP's (It's not just Clearwire that's like this)

clear wont let me play tf2 (pc) and roblox it lags EVERY TIME and with tf2 it just wont let me play and roblox lag and loses connection and when i go on youtube it goes LAGY like right now............so i start tf2 its RED which meen i lost connection then i closed tf2 then its green then its connection is back.....DAMN IT CLEAR!!!

I also have clearwire, this video took like 10 minutes to load....and in Day of Defeat source, my ping will go from like 20, then gradually rise to 999 every time....I'm thinking of wrapping the reciever in a bag and strapping it to the roof.....then maybe lightning will strike, and i can get outta this 2 year contract.

I thought I give the home and mobile I try for 7 days.....sux to be me. There's a big hill block their signal to my house...spent 2 hours with techs ....they said I can't be save. so for the mobile, I went around town getting less than 1mb download. Unless I'm next by a windows, I'm ok. But if I'm in a building with no windows, I'm screwed, no signals....guess CLEAR is not very CLEAR for me....sux to be me.

i have clearwire and it sucks but what ive tried is using a router and it kinda works better and then i did a speed test and i was getting .81mbps download speed and like .20 upload eventhough i pay for the 2mbps plan so i used this thing called tcpoptimizer and i set the setting to optimal and the thing to 2500 and ppoe on, so then i did another speed test and i got 1.81 mbps download and .45 upload!!! i know its still crappy but its better than it use to be so go to google and look up

I agree, clearwire advertises it's highest tier of home service as "gamer" level, but it's all lies. You simply can't play games using clearwire. Let alone stream movies. They need to get hit with a class action for deceptive marketing and service. I'm supposed to get 3mbps but I usually get 600-700 kbps, I'm going to downgrade back to 1mbps since it seems it won't go any faster. I usually get 4 bars in Portland, OR. Clear suxs....
