I added a coupler, and replaced the PT with some diameter of PETG I got 160 feet flat with a 14 inch cpvc barrel.

At Purdue we have something similar to this at target. Its called a pistol splat, and its basically a cheap and terrible paintball gun lol. But yeah the pistol splat gets about 90 feet with no work whatsoever.

I don't think you should use CPVC, it sucks. It's too tight for most stock darts and it's ID is inconsitant. I use Brass or PETG. It's more expensive(especially brass) but you know that every inch of it is the EXACT same, rather than CPVC differing from batch to batch. Not to mention super long barrels are more sturdy.

@Leatherbehlt Yes but say you forget or change foams? Not to mention even in one stick the ID changes slightly. Permanent things like barrels and paintjobs cannot be cheaped out on, otherwise you'll take a kick in the balls every time you use it.

@BlurredFace that's easy, drill out the inside of the cpvc until it fits the foam nicely.

and remember, nerf isnt like painball where you have to use up your life savings on a single gun, cpvc is pretty damn cheap. also, with nerf, nothing is permanent. integrations, pump replacements, barrel replacements, paintjobs, all that stuff you call "permanent" is easily fixable when something goes wrong. we spend all of our time on these blasters for a reason you know.

@Leatherbehlt @BlurredFace Well nothing whatsoever in the world is permanent, except maybe death. Nerf brand guns have this lovely ability so strip the screwports very easily, so I'd rather not open them unless they break. Personally I'd rather spend my life savings on a few guns, you can only use 1 at a time. Drilling the CPVC out is a great tactic, but I'd rather use something that's already the size I need. In Canada Pearson sells PETG for $1 a foot, so unless my life savings are safe.

also about the screws, you can replace those too.

@Leatherbehlt It's not the screws that strip, it's the plastic around them. ANY hobby shop worth anything sells brass at about $3.50 per foot. It's expensive but it's the best stuff around. Some larger petshops sell PETG, and if you are lucky the size you need. Worst case scenario you can have some PETG shipped, in bulk it would cost less than brass after shipping. If you reside the in US Mcmaster has INSANE amounts of whatever you need for Nerf, in many colors too!

@BlurredFace i heard mcmaster is also pretty expensive though, i havent seen any petg within a 70 mile radius of where i live, and i would rather not take an hour long trip into new hampshire to buy brass at home depot. and either way m.a doesnt have many wars so i dont need any really high quality materials for my guns.

I use cpvc because it's cheap, it works, its durable, and it fits my darts nicely. obviously you can make brass and petg more durable by nesting it in pvc or buy it in bulk for a better deal, but im lazy and i dont buy stuff too often so id rather not order online or search around in several hardware stores for materials. but if i did have access to petg and brass then would use it.
