There are men who are violently murdered everyday, but they don't get as much sympathy as those dogs did. I work at a homeless shelter and I donate to the ASPCA, however sometimes I feel angry after I donate because I realize that some people care more about those homeless abused dogs, than the homeless, abused people I serve.

This poem is brilliant. In listening to it, I am reminded that African people in this country were once treated worse than dogs. Their torturers had no repercussions. In no way does that justify Vick's mistreatment of animals but it definitely brings light to our contradictory and hypocritical ideals of justice in America. A old lady once told me that she didn't think it was fair for someone to be paid all that money. I said if people are pouring into your place to see Jordan, then Jordan better be getting a large percentage of that.
