Feedback: I took my father in a wheelchair so he was at the top of the amphitheater. He is hard of hearing - as were several older people in the audience. When she put her microphone on her lapel, it stopped picking up her voice so I called out that we couldn't here at the top because I knew they couldn't. She replied "Yes you can - just not through the speakers." My father & the other seniors (and even my sister) heard nothing of the presentation for the entire half hour. I was furious.

i live in carlsbad and every year some of my family comes down and i take them to it.... it was fun for the first 3 years..... but 7 years later it gets old.... but still cool though
I went to see this once. One of my favorite parts of the country. We were staying in El Paso, but we still waited til the end of the bat flight to leave. I used to go into this cave near my home in PA where you had to crawl on your belly, in one section for quite a ways, and when you got to the end, you would find Little Brown Bats hibernating. I could never figure out how they found their way back there. Now, the cave is closed in winter to leave the bats undisturbed. It was awesome.
I Love Carlsbad!! I live in Albuqureque and i love going down to visit my Father who lives in Carlsbad. In fact my Mom, my Sistter and I are going down to Carlsbad this weekend!!
@funkygunky1 Not as many as they each could kill all the mosquitos that will bite your sorry ass. Or eat the bugs that eat all the food you stuff your face with.
Something from "Die Fledermaus" would have been much more appropriate than "Ride of the Valkyries."

His head is too hard. Product of inbreeding. The bullet would ricochet.

What the hell dude? I thought you're not allowed to have cameras at the bat flight!

Millions or thousand, it's still an incredible event to look at.
Makes me think of a bit of the song In the Dark of the Night, that says:
"Come my minions,
Rise for your master,
Let your evil shine"
Listen to it. I works very well with these images.

fuzzy math.

Since there are only a few hundred thousand bats in Carlsbad Caverns, there are not millions of bats emerging. Unlike what the caption states.
