I think you are missing the point here. Photographers professional or amateur are no longer 'allowed' to take photographs of the police or security forces so why should they be allowed to photograph or video us? A vast majority of the public are just going about everyday life so why do they need to CCTV,photograph or video us. Please do no tell me that it is for public protection because I know this is false. The police are nothing more than public servants and that should be realised!!

I am BTP officer and our chief inspector is too busy and has too much paperwork to do to even attend briefings. i often operate the camera and only my sergeant knows about myself and the surveillance team being in operation. and also it isnt lazy policing id deters low level crime and it also deters pick pocketers and oppertunistic criminals

smoking or eating while driving, littering these are the low level crimes. Can a camera really spot a pickpocket at work?, you could be standing next to a dip at work and not notice, so how can a camra 50 metres away see it. When you're on duty aren't you just watching out for the usual faces? seeing who they meet with etc.?

yes anarchynotchaos, we do see the same faces around and about but the new faces we do see makes us that one step ahead of the game and when we see them again, we know who they are and everything about them. And the camera is not for generating profit, speed camera maybe but not the surveillance camera. This is purely to catch the criminals in the act as the camera can be used in a court of law.

I don't think there's a problem with football violence it isn't a fraction as bad as it was in the 70's and 80's, the racism and sectarianism is still there but steadily decreasing and anyway farting bits of violence like that are nothing compared with the violence meted out by the I.O.F. in Palestine or the Allies in Iraq.

I think it may have something to do with recruitment and training. The police seem to have the attitude that they're the biggest gang in the neighbourhood and that attracts the sort of guys who are just about too smart for the army. I don't understand how cameras have anything to do with smokers. Resources will not waisted for smoking. At the end of the day we need solutions not problems.
