i would not have seen the original version if not for Marc, and I think he did a pretty good job, at least he didn't murder I feel love like Klaus did.
Lol, I got it, it was just a joke, Look! Guitarist in song without guitars at all, performing like on Sex Pistols gig, keyboardist in jeans, jumping as mad, and many other thing. This is the most hillarious performance I've seen:)
Isn't there a rule that any song entered in Eurovision has to be original and first performed within the last few months? How was this missed? The judges can't have been THAT young. Someone must have known of Klaus Nomi's original version. Ripping off of Klaus is pretty uncool, guys.
I'm still a fan !!
Some people to get over themselves and realize this is just a cover. A tribute. Some respect. It doesn't have to be the original, and it shouldn't try to be.
In other words: Shut the fuck up and enjoy the song.
if it was not for Marc doing this i would not have given this a second look and looked at the original and other work by Klaus Nomi , so give him some slack he's being respectful .
Marc is a great performer, and I am VERY appreciative of him keeping Klaus' memory alive. Mr Nomi is one who desperately needs not to be forgotten. That said, Marc doesn't have the "zing" to really pull off the song. But it's a worthy effort. I would love it had I never heard the original.
Marc is a great musician but sometimes particular songs should be left alone... this one is really crap. Marc's voice is the only thing worth in this but the arrangement is just too dull and lifeless, the cover suffers greatly as a result. But then again, who can tell Klaus wouldn't mess with it if he were still alive?
No Klaus, say it isn't so! This is a disgrace to the Klaus Nomi name and I was APPALLED. Marc Almond is not just a NUT , but a FRUIT too. The song contained too much embellishments , perhaps too hide what a horror show it was.
Hey, we all know that too most of the world, Klaus Nomi was too much. So what niche audience was this ass looking (or Licking?) for?
And what a no-talent horse face that Rosenstolz is
hm... somehow it doesn't work out. It sounds a lot like Eurovision and not bad at that, but neither does the soprano stuff hit as hard as it should, nor is the dark humor celebrated enough.
Feelgood song with lyrics about the apocalypse.
Too bad there isn't a better production of Nomi's version and it's always good to see Marc Almond, while this one has its moments, it is comparably faceless.
Nomi will be missed forever - he just died too young.
@ZLUGGO hotter than *a* holocaust. holocaust=whole-burning, by definition. A small chance but big difference in actual meaning. The word existed before the genocidal acts of the Nazis, though obviously most people are going to think of that first.

This performance is really blunt in comparison. I don't think this person understood Nomi or his art in the slightest....

I agree. The only connection is probably that Rosenstolz and Nomi both come (/came) from Germany, but that's about it.
