  • The pic you linked is a different then the one in the vid which makes is a little hard to follow, other then that this tutorial was a lot of help!

  • i forgot to mention: at 09:19 select only the edges of the circle as only those we want aligned into a circle.

  • In our case, vertices are inside a plane so the "To Sphere" function will get you a circle.

  • nice one. at 09:19 were you selected all vertices, to make a perfect circle - press [Shift]+[S] and select Cursor -> Selection. This will center your cursor in the middle of all the selected vertices. Now at the bottom screen (press F9 to go to Editing) there is this block named Mesh Tools (where the Extrude button is). There you`ll see a button named To Sphere. Press it -> Percentage: 100 -> OK. This will align selected vertices into a sphere.

  • How do I load in the image? I cant see where I can load it in, it's not in 'Import'

  • try going slower and commentate

  • You traced it. Wooooooow. I made this without tracing at all: a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/409075_2054035609633_1806868124_1367189_580150699_n.jpg

  • @AtomicStorm12 Grow up kid. Ya know how I know you're a kid? Because mature adults don't talk like assholes just because they are behind a keyboard. You know you would not talk like that if you were in the same room so don't act like a jerk cuz ur on the web.

  • 17 Sucks at Blender :D

  • OMG, You are have a good modeling :D More and More Details :D :D Niice

  • You just amazed me. you made this tutorial so clear, and even though i've never used blender before, I can make guns with ease. Thank you.

  • @h3sniperman I want him here :(

  • @assburgers95 fail

  • @nyanRyan yes, my friend, you have failed.

  • Im just starting to use this program. I have used rhino 3d a lot in the past. Is it just me, or does the model design in blender seem slow?

  • @assburgers95 im spamming? look at you "its called a m82" the barret 50. cal is the same as the m82 its just easier to say like chink step off my dick bro.

  • @stealthystealthsteal i never said that you were spamming.

you are the one who started this conversation, so you should "step off my dick".

  • @assburgers95 you implied that i was a spamming troll, anyways i was never on your dick. im not like that

  • @stealthystealthsteal i did not imply that you were a troll, i just said that i hate trolls and i described them as stupid, immature and lifeless kids, i was not insulting you.

  • @assburgers95 your name is assburgers i have nothing more to say troll cod fanboy

  • now that im farily experienced at blender, this seems like childs work, after you get over the blender learning curve your up up and away

  • @h3sniperman

    @assburgers95

Couldn't it also be an M107?

  • *cough* Cinema 4d is 192301248120 x better *Cough*

  • @TheC00kiieMonster there used for completely different tasks, have you even used blender? you probly couldnt get a sphere on the screen

  • @stealthystealthsteal Cinema 4d is 83291781273971239187 x better

  • @TheC00kiieMonster your plain uninformed cinema 4D is used for 3D graphics intros or whatever this is not the program you dumb person for real your trollin cunt

  • @TheC00kiieMonster oh btw your bad at c4d so if you were a bit better you might have an argument

  • @stealthystealthsteal dude u dont even know c4d wtf is blender against The Cinema 4D every1 uses C4D

  • i have a question.i want to set my blender creation as a desktop background, but i don't know how, can you help me plzzzz... (sorry if my english is bad)

  • @TheRaihan111 F12 renders a still image of your creation. Go to File > save rendered image. Then you can set a place to save your image. After saving go to where you saved the image in your computer and apply it as a desktop background.

  • You suck at tutorials.

  • @Guding12 You suck at following any basic direction.

  • @h3sniperman "Do the same thing I do." "Then you do this exact same thing" Can you explain not tell us to do this exact same thing?

  • @h3sniperman You suck at making people learn. I did make the Barrett, but I didn't learn anything. You should remove beginner tutorial from the title, then I will take that back.

  • @Guding12

No he don´t, he is a very good tutorialer:D

U on the other hand...Suck at understanding.

I´ll bet you just said that becuse you didnt manage to make the Barret

  • @Guding12 Wow if a guy makes a mistake or, god forbid, is actually wrong about something you punk kids start talking shit. Grow up.

  • @aculasabacca It 's not a begginer tutorial, retard.

  • @Guding12 When are you kids gonna learn to say something without the "fucking moron', "retard" shit. I was using CAD when you were swimming around your fathers balls little boy. Also why the fuck would anyone put anything on the origin, sweetheart? One more thing , when you jerk off do you reach with your tounge and try to lick your nipple?

  • @aculasabacca I used CAD a long time ago, don't brag about it. It should be on the center, not the geometry, the origin of the object!

  • THE GUN IS SUPPOSE TO BE IN THE ORIGIN.

  • @Guding12 The origin?

  • @h3sniperman Cause when you put the gun into a game or a movie, that's going to be the center of gravity.

  • @h3sniperman i have now blender 2.59 how can i put the image i try but it doesn't work

  • How come your thing your moving around is see through? mines not which is anoying

  • @Wogiboi Because he may be working in a different view of editing then you are. In edit mode you can have two basic views: solid and wireframe, wireframe will show pretty much everything in edit mode with transparent blue space for the planes, solid will naturally show you the whole solid thing and will not let you see through it, only the vertices. I forget what the scenario is, but where your header is, near the selection type "vertex/edge/face" there is a button that occludes geometry, try it

  • Hey, I know this is an old video and I know you won't like to reply on here, but I have all of the ideas for a game and everything drawn out, but when it comes to the software I'm stuck. First time using UDK and Blender, so I was wondering if you could answer two questions for me?

How do I add Muzzle Flash to my weapon? Also, how do I create an animation so that when I fire some of the parts can actually move?

Long questions I know, grateful for an answer.

  • @WaterMelnKidd Well it may not be the best way but of muzzle flash in games but I used to use an empty parented to the gun that when fired would add a white plane shaped like muzzleflash. You can hook the plane up with a timer so that it expires practically straight away. You'll get a cheap flash out of that

As for the animation, that's easy enough. Animate some recoil. Set an actuator for the gun to IPO. Then enter the start and end frames that you recorded your recoil animation in.

  • can u use this gun n a game or sumthn.ive seen alot of videos of pple making levels n stuff but ihav no clue how they actually gt it to work

  • @DarkHeartHideka They use the game engine. I wouldn't recommend using this gun in a game as it is a high polly count. This model would be better suited to animations. If you were making one for a game you would want to use a detailed texture and put less detail into the model.

  • okay im kinda a noob but how did u gt tht view when u made the gun thin. on 1:26 in the video

  • @DarkHeartHideka When you click the middle mouse button (normally clicking down on your scroller) and move your mouse it'll give you a 3d view and remove your background image. Press 1, 3 or 7 on your numpad to return to your background image.

  • omg... is this like version 2.48 or something

  • @arcanists2000 Yeah it is, why? It is an old video.

  • @h3sniperman oh, okay. Sorry.

  • i prefer use a plane to model.. but nice tutorial.

  • @tenegon Whatever works best for you. Thanks man.

  • first time using Blender 2.5 Alpha and i build in 4 hours the M107 almost the same as in this video. great Program using it more and more. TY

  • Hey man, which version of blender did you use here?

  • that's not a beginner toutrail at all !!

  • @TheMOHAAMED I couldnt get passed the second step! :(

  • @N1NJ4JESUS I'm glad you managed to open blender at least.

  • @h3sniperman Haha, I watched some other tutorials and figured it out. Im still not that good at it though.

  • just add some music to make it better. If you do, make it something good like drowning pool - sinner.

  • Open Blender XD

  • 02:54 i apologize

  • 00:57 or just click S + X/Z/Y + arrows, peice of cake

  • With or without a commentary. This video is awesome. You can see everything he does and the final product is EPIC. Besides, half the tuts have either a 4 yr old telling you stuff you don't want to know or are filled by rubbish music. this needed nothing added. I hope I can begin to create things even near this level in time. If I have any problems as I go though, ill come straight to you. Great work.

  • Dude, nothing against you, because your way better than me... but when you make tutorials they should have someone talking to walk you through it.

  • There's a certain point where one of my extrusions always goes into an angle when i dont want it too. how do i fix this?

  • Hey man, nice tut.

i have to ask, when you do like in 3.54, how do you get back to the pic!? :D

  • @Capper1996 To get into that 3d mode I clicked the middle mouse button and moved it. To return to the mode with the picture you hit 1, 3 or 7 on the numpad. If you still don't see your background image it means you're in perspective mode and to fix that you just press 5 on the numpad.

  • aaaaaah!!!! triangles bad

  • @Iodrome Triangles can be avoided. It's all down to the way you go about it. This is just how I went about it on that particular day.

  • when you extrude the whole area on the gun handle. how do you get every face to close in towards eachother instead of going all going in one direction? when i do it they all go to the left. so its like the whole handle is just hanging off of the left side of the gun

  • dude i got the software and how do you zoom out and have it in grid form to see what ever you might make replay plz bye

  • dude where the f do you get blender

  • @coolman2667 at the website ;)

  • dude where the f do you get blendr

  • says cannot open cuz its not a blenderfle....wtf?

  • hey nice vid i understood more than by videos in german (i'm a german) and with voice :D thank u :)

  • Any reasons why my picture won't load? Or suggestions.

  • @BackSlashX18 yes i know why.

Press numpad 1, 3, 5, 7, 8 will change perspective. pressing on of these will put you in the right perspective to see the picture

  • i have 2.5 how do u look at the object in diff views

  • Im making models in Milkshape 3D but something are hard to do in MS3D like cutting a hole in a box, as far I can see, blender seems to be advanced ver of MS3D

  • Just to say, If you are new to the 3D modeling world, I would recondmend Milkshape 3D or Google Sketchup Pro

  • @sakimom99 I think Blender's a brilliant modelling programme that shows you what professional software is similar to. It's really easy to get used to and get started on.

  • @h3sniperman

In many cases it IS what the pros use!

  • wich version is this?

  • Can you upload the blend file?

And thanks for the link. I've been looking for a blueprint for this gun forever. Too bad there's no front view.

  • ok how to u make it so that the blocks u put down r blue and transparent? Also why doesnt my right click work and how can i make it so i just drag corners to where i want them

  • i cant delete the default cube. I cant right click and get an options menu up. I dont know wat to do

  • how come whenevr i extrude my screen goes on a line and it can only coast on that line.

  • Blender 2.53, how in gods name do I add a background JPEG so I can model it. Le fu

  • @ruberciubeing bounding box next to the object mode thingy, hope i help, tho i suck at explaining.

  • barret m81a2?

  • can someome plz respond quick ive got the new blender 2.53 but whenever i extrude its only on one plane like its 2-d what do i do? plz help and thanks in advance

  • @Trilink2 If you have a whole face selected in a 3d view and you extrude the face, you'll create a new one.

  • @h3sniperman He might just have occlude back ground geometry on?

  • @guildmasteraq Who?

  • @h3sniperman That Trilink2 guy.

Odd to respond a month after, but, whatever, :P

  • @guildmasteraq Yeah, I reply to comments in blocks every once in a while :L. I don't know, I don't really do much blender any more. I just answer questions from whatever I can remember.

  • I hate my blender I cant add background image and I cant even add texture and I have tryed to reinstall blender : (

  • @Felixfors what version do you have?

  • @Felixfors if you have the newest version it wont add that i have version 2.49b and i have all the fetures

  • is this th 2.6 version

  • Im not sure if im fucking retarded but im 11 and stuff like at 0:33 and 0:56 confuse me i get frustrated

  • @stonerdude4000 at 0:33 I clicked and dragged the arrow and then I could move the cube. Then I pressed 'Z' on my keyboard which changed it from solid to wire-frame.

  • @stonerdude4000 hey man im 12 and im new to the program too i suk at it but ppl say ill learn u learn man

  • For me blender is the easyest way to model but 3dsmax is best but its harder

  • you texturing was really bad for the gun....

  • i always get confused and dont know what to do when i go into edit mode and press B can someone help me

  • I'm trying to find a tutorial that is easy to follow and that shows the basic functions on how to create an item and then animate it... a beginners guide but with more professional touch.

  • @FlashySenap This is pretty basic. If there's something you don't understand, just ask.

  • how do you select all the corners at once

  • best gun tut ever. though it needs sound. it helps for listeners like me. i'll remake the tut though anyway.

  • @Acefangamestudio I'd rather if you didn't take my tut :L. It doesn't really need sound, you can follow the instructions pretty easily i think.

  • @h3sniperman not the same thing. gun modeling is gun modeling i can use what ever type of gun i want.

  • Are you duplicating them?

  • @RaodaLiynNoet I don't know what you mean but if you want to duplicate it, select the sniper in Object mode and hit Shift-D

  • How did u do the cube invisible? =)

    Plz answer ;)

  • @DJNymanz wireframe I think

  • very good work keep it on :D

  • how do i move the circle with the red and green arrow on it?

  • @TMcDonagh97 I'm not sure what you mean. What part of the video is it at?

  • @IIVI0RTAL more tutorials if you can plz :D

  • @rusurazvan dont really have much time right now, but i have some tutorials on my website, check my channel for the link.

  • @IIVI0RTAL dude are you really advertising on my vids?

  • @h3sniperman im just answering to the comment from ruzurasvan who asked me to tell him more. I didnt him him the link anyway, i told him that if was intereseted in tutorials to check my channel out for my websites link. Thats all.

  • @h3sniperman delete his comment, he is clearly advertising.

  • @ILFZ2 Nah, deleting comments is uncool.

  • @h3sniperman lol

  • What about the optics and the rest of the gun?

  • The more time and effort you put in, the better results you get. I only made this in 20 something minutes i think.

  • @h3sniperman i was asking about how to make optics and the rest of the gun,but i found part 2 and 3 :P sry, great tut mate

  • lol a little fast for a tutorial, but none the less still awsome

  • i lold at the beginning when it said open blender. nice tut man

  • Some people are hopeless :L

  • Hi, how come when i put mine in object mode it looks rubbish but when it's in edit mode it looks good but in object mode it has like lines going through and is not straight it looks terrible PLEASE HELP!!

  • Dud ! when i press Alt and rotate the model my background dissapear :C How can i get it back in the same position ?? Thnx 4 that tutt

  • on your number pad you'll need to hit either 1, 3 or 7. There's a way of doing it with a laptop keyboard aswell. and if it doesn't work then press 5 on the number pad first. 5 toggles on and off the perspective.

  • very nice..

  • Very cool man, I just started using Blender and this taught me a lot. Cheers

  • It doesn't mark the edges when I press B

  • B only creates a box for you to drag around the verts you want so that they're selected and for B to work you have to be in edit mode (TAB) and your mouse has to be on the part of the screen with the grid and your model.

  • @h3sniperman I am in edit mode

  • and what does pressing B do then?

  • @h3sniperman it gives me a round circle that i can select with

  • That only happens if you press B twice instead of once.
