  • @MyFavZumba I've never done it, so be careful. I just took the wax that I showed in my jar, heated it up in a bowl with boiled water and let it sit there for about 10 minutes. Once the wax was warm enough I transferred it to a wax warmer container (le petite brand from sally's beauty supply). I use my wax that way instead of a jar. The warmer from is sally's is $20. Hope this helped :)

  • okay I heard somewhere if you frequently use sugar waxing eventually you can damage the hair follicle which means there's permanent hair removal in that area. Is that true at all?

  • @SunDream033 DO NOT test it on your arm, it might burn you, and you would have to wax it off, and might peel your skin, try taking a tablespoon, and putting some of the sugar wax on it, then running the spoon with it the sugar under cool water and if it hardens and become a bit thicker than honey, its ready.

  • @SunDream033 I've never done it without a candy thermometer. Do you live in the US? The best advice I can give is to make sure you take the wax off the heat from time to time to do a patch test on your arm (wait for it to cool down!) to see if the consistency is right.

    i have electric stove and it said 1, 2, 3, 4, ,5, 6, ,7, ,8 ,9, 10, low, and high for heat

    u said put high and then low to heat, but which high and which low? and when it boiling and start to low heat, how long i have to wait until it cook? i dont use thermometer.. when i finished to cook it, it looks really dark (almost look like burn) and also my spoon look like burn :l

  • @dina15droubi Since you have numbers, high would be around 8-10 low would be about 1-3. It takes about 15-20 mins to cook, but that is all dependent on your stove. It's best to get a thermometer because if you cook it and it looks burned, then it's probably overcooked.

  • @lavanyaa658 I bought mine from walmart. The brand isn't a big deal, as long as its a candy thermometer and not a regular one for when you're sick because those can't sustain high temperatures like a candy thermometer.

  • @ChibiAlly You can warm it in the microwave little by little. You don't want it to be too hot to burn you.

  • @ChibiAlly Sometimes if it's been overcooked it will be rock hard. Did you use a candy thermometer? Yes after its been cooled mine is dense, but with enough pressure i can push my finger through. I just warm it up in the microwave.

  • Would sugaring be harsh at all on sensitive skin?

  • @Alikhy I'm not sure. Sugaring still hurts but is less painful than regular waxing because it sticks to the hair only as with regular waxing it sticks to both hair and skin.

  • I've done my underarms, bikini, and legs. I had bruising with the wax on my bikini and on the insides of my elbows. But with the sugaring I didn't have any bruising at all. No red bumps, irritation, no infections, and the redness went away fast. I have extremely sensitive skin. It's ridiculous.(and expensive). But, thankfully, I don't have to worry about it now with hair removal! It does hurt though, but I don't see a way around that since you're pulling your hair out of the skin!

  • @moonshinekiss You can use the wax itself with your hands also. If you don't want to, a tissue wouldn't work, you need to use an actual strip or maybe an old pair of jeans you don't wear and use cut up strips of that.

  • @MultiAzder You can use real lemons, or use bottled lemon juice. Just make sure there isn't anything in the juice besides lemon juice like added sugar, food coloring, etc

  • @alexiasccc You can reuse the wax, just don't get any water in it, or else it will grow bacteria. As far as the pot, you can either add hot water to it and boil it on the stove, or add hot running water it it and clean it that way.

  • just so everyone knows. If you use the thermometer try to not let the tip touch the bottom of the pan. it will skew the results because the metal will be hotter than the mixture inside of the pan.

  • hey i tried this recipe(with white sugar) and i got the same result...but it doesn't work, like, yeah its just like urs, sticky, but nothing comes off, i'm tried cotton shorts& paper but it doesn't come off and its sticky, whys that?

  • @demzstarme Cotton absorbs everything so you should try paper strips, or an old pair of denim shorts or something dense like that.

  • I made this and heated it to 250 degree F (using white granulated sugar) and it's cooled enough to stick on my skin just being a bit warm at most and it's still not coming out very hard at all? It's pretty soft and gooey still. I used a digital thermometer that goes up to 350 degrees.

  • @Dougie085 You should try and cook it more and test it along the way. Sometimes it may need a little more time.

  • hey in the middle east we only use this stuff for any kind of hair removal, and its great coz some people can get allergic to wax. a few tips, don't use on skin that has moisturizer on it, it won't stick and if ur skin is sweaty, put talcum powder before starting, it will also lessen the pain.also kneed the candy well so it sticks but not too much as it will stick to ur skin and ull bruise when u pull it off

  • @MakeupOnABudget Or simply keep the measures... 1x (measures here) sugar, 1/8 (measure here) lemon juice and 1/8 (measure here) water.

    I converted it into grams: 200g sugar, 25g lemon juice, 25g water.
