i had the z-3e , the black one , i sold it and bought the z-2300,the differnence in bass is huge, although, the z-3 was good value for money.

And that is not a fake sub, it is a passive radiator as opposed to the 2300 which has a bass reflex port. it is not fake, but traded like an 8 inch passive radiator, not sub.

@yodudeitskid22 Not in the z4 and z3 is just a peice of cardboard and a surround. and most PR don't have a spider just a cone with a basket, Logitech uses Tang Band drivers which are really good but they enclosures they put them in can make them sound cheep.

you dont need a big speaker to make big sound (logitech prooved this with the Z3 and Z4 series systems they used the econd larger diafram to add more to the really low tones (great work logitech)

i have a cyber accustics system with an 8" woffer and it on max bass dosent produce anyware as much bass as my logitech Z340 system my CA system has better sounding highend though

Very curious. It would seem like a 4th order bandpass using a passive radiator instead of a port, however the rear chamber does not appear sealed, at 0:55 you can see a hole at the top right. It could be a double bass reflex enclosure, but the hole seems to be just that, a hole, with no port length at all. I can't place a definition on this one! Passive radiator size seems excessive compared to driver, but it does not include a spider for stability, so Xmax will have to be kept low for it.

The large "speaker" is called a PASSIVE RADIATOR or PR for short. The little woofer in the box is used to create pressure ,this pressure then moves the PR.

These "subs" are colored to the extreme,peaky like all hell.

It isn't bandpass! Bandpass in just a woofer sealed in a box with a bass reflex tube, but this is dual-chamber with passive radiator. This thing is special, but weird at some point. If this has a PR why the box is dual-chambered? Is there maybe a hole in second chamber? The PR would get more excursion, if the box was just a box, and the sub had the diagram in the box, so it will be better if the box was just bandpass with PR, without the hole.

they're just showing off that "8-inch radiator" so innocent buyers who usually believes "bigger is better" would get that crap instead of the others. fine-tuned bandpass enclosures are better IMO.. and most of the hi-end speaker manufacturers as well. Suggestion: i'd still go for the Razer Mako.

I have a logitech Z-340 2.1 set and the sub is exactly the same. But ya know what? I did a side by side comparison with a z-530 5.1 system with 5.25" sub, and this little 4" blew it out of the water. Cleaner, deeper, and yes louder sound. I would highly recomend this style of sub. Great find!

no, its a passive radiator. The speaker inside is what makes the "fake woofer move". That fake speaker is a passive radiator. When that little woofer moves, but creates pressure to move the passive radiator in and out. It is like a speaker, moved by a smaller speaker
