I don't think that Derrida would put things quite so simply and tidy as that. Derrida's questioning is much more a breaking of the possibility of 'nutshells' (in a nutshell). It's an anxiety about the very adequacy of language in really describing the world around us, and of course implicative of this is anxiety about the frames through which we would understand life. I think that these frames are not things we need to get away from in the name of truth but they're the very possibility of truth.
Wanna know how to get over existential dread? Be poor. Then you'll be worrying about much more basic problems, and the post-modernism just fades away like a fart.
On another of these videos with Derrida in it,. the man speaks of the encounter with the moment that comes before the first question. I wonder if by renaming yourself you are trying to gain power over the world since you can reframe it in new terms. But without a clear self to work from, it might be hard to maintain perspective.

I wasn't expecting much from this video (because it was not coming from a lecture or institution, and I am prejudiced like that [individuals on YT seem to have had more flights of fancy about what particular philosophers 'mean' than anything else]) but I was very pleased with it. Something has been presented to me, and it doesn't reduce down to one 'type' of thing, it poses a question, and in remaining a question it is open, ongoing. Dis-enclosure, different art. Like.

I don't think that Derrida would put things quite so simply and tidy as that. Derrida's questioning is much more a breaking of the possibility of 'nutshells' (in a nutshell). It's an anxiety about the very adequacy of language in really describing the world around us, and of course implicative of this is anxiety about the frames through which we would understand life. I think that these frames are not things we need to get away from in the name of truth but they're the very possibility of truth.

On another of these videos with Derrida in it,. the man speaks of the encounter with the moment that comes before the first question. I wonder if by renaming yourself you are trying to gain power over the world since you can reframe it in new terms. But without a clear self to work from, it might be hard to maintain perspective.
I usually just do this by asking maiutic/Socratic questions of people, or baiting one with a false query.

Woah, that wasn't what I was expecting when I clicked on the Derrida video; pretty interesting summary of the frame, the marginal becoming the center, reinforcing it all with the video techniques. I'm thrown by the love/ruptured self narrative in the video and was unsure of how it related to Derrida, but still, the video was interesting.

I am always amazed at how bold and vulgar people can be behind the safety of their automobile windshields or over the long distance of the internet. I am 6' 2" and 210 lbs and have been a martial artist since I was 9 years old, consequently the only people who are insulting to me are behind protective barriers. Never to my face.
