My self-defense instructor (whom I trust with these things) definitely sees tazers as a viable option. He showed that (at least the civilian version) drops dramatically in intensity after 5 seconds. That was demonstrated with sound, you could hear the difference in the static.
Tazer says that you should put the tazer on the ground after firing. But after the guy recovers he has a brand new tazer. So we'd not do that. We'd keep it in our hands and sometimes restart it to maintain intensity.

On the topic of vehicles: You cannot compare car ACCIDENTS to firearm related MURDERS because there is a lack of intent. absolutely NOT true. i am a gun owner, but have never once been hunting, nor do i carry defensively. i only use my guns for target shooting because it is a fun hobby to me. i like taking down my guns and seeing the mechanics. i like long distance shooting to see how accurate i can be. way to be narrowminded.

The mini-14 is a great gun, but the finish, at least on the late models with walnut stocks, is not durable at all. It doesn't take much to scratch off the glaze.

I agree with Halo2100, I've been living in Canada on and off since 1991. Their gun laws have done nothing but cost the tax payer a horrible amount of money. What we need is a mandatory sentence of LIFE for use of a firearm in commission of a crime.

Sad part is, once the nut jobs get healthcare reform passed, they will be regulating the food you eat. Hope we all enjoy the mandatory exercise programs as well, we are entering a sad time in US history.

well for ya all asking this is not a problem nor a glitch from youtube, this is actually intended to do. By giving a high ratings to the video the video makes it to the youtube home page, where more ppl can see and click on the video . you have no idea how many ppl just click on the video bc of the ratings!.. but yeah so is not a problem is intended in that way for the youtube partners! =)

What you are referring to is the so called "loophole"... this can be done in a private sale the exact same way. This is nothing more than govt fear tactics. If you are referring to a dealer selling the gun, then they are performing an illegal act and would likely do the same thing out of their shop. This is more a case for the BATF to enforce their existing laws and not create new ones. Please explain how "regulation" will fix ANYTHING? Where were the regs during Comlumbine? 18 laws were broken.

To the parade of negative comments: First of all, I just think that it is too easy to acquire a firearm without proving that you have any training or lack of malicious intent whatsoever. On the topic of vehicles: You cannot compare car ACCIDENTS to firearm related MURDERS because there is a lack of intent. A vehicles singular purpose also differs from that of a firearm; many people are saved by ambulances and other advanced forms of transport. A firearms sole purpose is to kill.

absolutely NOT true. i am a gun owner, but have never once been hunting, nor do i carry defensively. i only use my guns for target shooting because it is a fun hobby to me. i like taking down my guns and seeing the mechanics. i like long distance shooting to see how accurate i can be. way to be narrowminded.

"A firearm's sole purpose is to kill" -Negative. Firearms were CREATED to kill. No point denying that. However, the "purpose" of firearms have evolved since their creation to include target shooting, competition, collector's items, etc. Firearms are in no way different than martial arts. I don't see anybody attepting to regulate Miyagi-Do Karate!
