  • i liked and subed.great vid. =)

  • hey where do you get your filter floss and the other bio rings? do you think it would work for a bigger tank if you just made a bigger one and how much money does it cost?

  • Very helpful! I think I'd like to make a smaller one like this.I'm participating in a program to raise trout from eggs in a classroom. They'll get released to the river when they're fry. I'm also interested to know if anyone has any experience with chillers. The chiller says it needs filtered water in order to not have the insides get gunked up, but in order to make sure it gets ONLY filtered water and no debris, I'm thinking of trying to rig up some kind of in-line filter. Any ideas?

  • GOOD ONE

  • very helpful one. thanks. :)

  • @BettaDiff glad you liked it

  • @TheRossiboy please tell us a nice way to conceal the filter in the tank

    thank you!

  • @SuperAaaaa123456 if your into plants I'd suggest a big ol amazon sword or some thick stem plants like ludwigia or rotala...you could put a large ornament infront of it or a rock :)

  • Sweet! Very helpful man!

  • @MrAqua013 glad you liked it :)

  • nice vid....

  • @74lilchris thanks man

  • very helpfull but could u give a guess on how much water flow?

  • @Everythingaquarium hmm it depends on the lph rating of the air pump...but in my case it's about 100-200lph

  • @TheRossiboy actualy it might be the same as the lph of the pump :/

  • @Everythingaquarium maybee but some water enters through the inner tube

  • Very helpful!

  • @Tuscuttar glad you liked it :)

  • are you still thinking of getting a saltwater tank?

  • @DaughtersBoi I'm not sure anymore because I have no money and it'll take a while to save back up we'll see :/

  • you forgot to drill hole in the inner tube or else it will not work at all...plus plastic will just float once you put that thing in the tank.

Not bad if you are low on money...but i prefer my hydro sponge filter instead frys can eat debris trap on the sponge...

  • @asiandude666 if you put some sort of rock in it it wont float but you are right about drilling the holes in it it would give it more circulation other wise great design and pretty cheap to make

  • @WetTropix hey it sank anyways because the ceramic bio rings are relitively heavy...this design doesn't require any hole drilling becauseI made sure the inner tube wasn't blocked and that there was plenty of space for the water to enter through...the tube is also a few inches off the base of the cup...thanks for your concern though...I'll probably do a vid of it later today up and running in the fry tank :)

  • @TheRossiboy alright cool

  • @asiandude666 this design doesn't require drilling because the inner tube is suspended 1" above the bottom of the cup which means that water can still enter the bottom of the inner tube with ease with no need for drillling...I used bio rings to suspend the inner tube and all ow waterflow to access the bottom of the tube. The filter didn't float once in the tank because the ceramic bio rings are quite heavy so they weighted it down. That's a good idea how the fry can eat the particles on it :)
