  • Elephants are a common sight in many Thai towns and cities being used as a prop by beggars to solicit money from passers-by.

Baby elephants are especially favored and usually perform a repertoire of tricks.

Concerns over cruelty have led to the banning of elephant displays in many areas of Thailand.

This has done little to curb the practice with many elephant owners and trainers work their animals for long hours every day.

  • ?? Did you plan on making any sense when you put that comment there??

  • how did that elephant end up on the streets wit an open manhole? should they suppose to be in a place called Zoo?

allowing this animals to loiter down the streets is putting them more endangered, isnt it?

  • thats what they use there instead of cars, it is in Thailand

  • Thank God that there are more intelligent forms of life on this earth (like elephants). Are you still in a parking lot somewhere drinking cheap beer?

  • whats endangered,......an idea that we shouldnt let some species die of natural selection is a typical weak human response...........you probably wouldnt mind so much if it wasnt SO cute looking.maybe we should only put cute animals on the endangered list...idiots

  • I hope you're joking just to draw attention to yourself

  • ASSHOLE!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm very sad and don't want to happen like this again..

  • Filming a mockumentary about today's media coverage, one of our actors ad-libed the line: "there's violence and rape on the news and kids wanna go out on the news and the kids wanna go out and be violent and rape people. There's baby elephants on the news and kids wanna go out and have baby elephants." There was never much of truth in that sentence...

    ...until now. :D

  • Elephants are held in high regard in Thailand, they are treated with respect and are generally well taken care of.

  • Poor creature. I didn't realise they were used as cattle :(

  • poor thing, it looks so scared, i'm so glad it wasnt hurt, and i agree with you on that one MrsRomanson030 its a wild animal it shouldn't be worked as a common cattle it should be in the wild where it belongs

  • hayzzzzz thanks the baby elephant is safe!! im happy now!!

  • Maybe if they stopped working these beautiful animals like common cattle and treated them with the respect they deserve then occurances like this would never happen.

  • Aww!!! Poor thing, glad elephant is ok now :-)
