Yes its a song about people that are with someone else but can't change the feelings they have for one another and know maybe its wrong but when they're together everything seems alive and the world seems to not be so dark and grey. Which explains the colored paint and the fact that its starts out in black and white. Its impossible to not be around that person you love and not feel like everything is better. What are you suppose to do when the person you love is married?

The New Pornographers are truly amazing. I listen to them so much and even if I wear out their songs I can come back a few days or a week later and then I hear the magic I heard earlier all over again. They've never failed in that department. I honestly don't know any other band that can do that so easily in so many of their songs. Why aren't they huge? I'd blame people for not listening with open minds, Especially those who are hooked to adrenaline pumping songs.
