I do find it funny people bought the game thinking it was going to be like the SNES. Then they play it, absolutely suck at it then want to get rid of it. ^o^
Actually, I bought the game thinking it would stand up well against superior games in the fighting game genre such as Soul Calibur IV and Virtua Fighter 5.
And lets face it, Street Fighter 3rd strike and Capcom vs SNK 2 are far superior installments even to the street fighter series. Of course I was expecting a port of the snes games. That is, after all what Capcom has stated in their marketing campaigns for SFIV. Not to mention, the endless re-releases of the snes ports to this day.
A shame you feel that way. Good thing it's just a drop in the bucket. SF4 is one of the most exciting fighters to come out this year and is exactly the kind of kickstart the fighting genre needed.
VF5 and SCIV are good games, but Street Fighter IV is reaching epic levels of excitement. It's a shame you'll be stopping here while the fighting game genre moves on without you.
Oh, I will keep playing Street fighter. Just not SFIV. Just bought a copy of turbo for the old snes and thinking about investing in Turbo Hd remix.
Keep in mind, the fighting game genre has a wide of variety of franchises to choose from such as Virtua fighter, soul calibur, dead or alive or even Tekken.

Now regarding downloading roms, you could say I'm the nostalgic type. I enjoy owning the original cartridge of the game not just as an old school gamer, but as a collector of older games too.
Downloading roms of arcades games are justifiable seeing as how 90% of the games are hard to find in arcades in America. Plus there is no maintenance required, you can play online matches with other people, and you can use the controller of your choice. Now if they could perfect a Noami emulator so everyone can play matches of CvS2 and MvC2 against each other.
I kind of stopped collecting seeing as how old consoles costs 60+ in mom and pop game shops. Just the other day, I saw a 3d0 for $64.99

Actually, for your information, I was quite good at Street Fighter IV. The trial mode was very informative and helped introduce me to many of the complex combos that were not mentioned in the command list.
I been playing fighting games for almost two decades now, from the arcades to almost every console imaginable. In my opinion...the tekken series is simply far superior due to the VAST amounts of fighting styles ( lot less Ryu Clones) moves, modes, combo possibilities, and full 360 movement.
well i highly disagree on you saying soul caliber 4 is better than street fighter 4 as i have also played it yeah i play with cheap ass cervantez lol but its not as complex as street fighter4 is to me in the way that my little brother could give me a run for my money in sc4 but in sf4 he cant touch me same goes for t6 he practises all 3 games its just sf4 is just more technical in the way that you cant fuck up evrything has to hit you cant afford mistakes while on sc4 and t6 you can.
If you think soul calibur Iv is simplistic, try guard breaking and just impacts. Takes the game to a whole new level of depth and challenge. As for Tekken, the real gameplay kicks in with the air juggle based combos.
Street Fighter is more along the lines of speed...how fast you can rotate your joystick. Soul Calibur...how fast you can reverse attacks, and Tekken, how fast you can disable your opponent combo wise.
Either way, I just sold my copy of SFIV so little harm done.

this will undoubtedly be an awesome game, but in my opinion, capcom made the best fighting sysem possible on marvel vs capcom 2. A game were there IS no fluke losses to your button mashing eddy gordo's or voldo's. There is no button masher who has your number, it is all skill. wish they would make another marvel vs capcom. Or maybe a capcom vs. konami. snk sucks (almost no badass or interesing characters) and so does all other comic book companies besides marvel.

KOF is shit. That game is so tacky and was originally a rip off of street fighter. People are judging this game based on a few videos of EARLY development. They're probably still fucking with the game speed, it's look, and probably the large amount of characters that will likely be in the game. I'm liking what I'm seeing from Capcom, but I would like to see more Street Fighter Alpha 3 elements in the game and the same amount of characters. Oh, and AKUMA would rape any KOF character, anyday.

I think the past few SF games have been crappy in all honesty.
Fewer characters with a decent move set arrangement is the way forward. Half of the attacks in the previous games have just been rip offs of all the old skool characters.
I've been a fan of street fighter since i was a kid,but Im getting tired of it.Capcom needs to reinvent how these characters look,since they have looked the same for the past 15+ years.I love the franchise but it needs a breath of fresh air
POWER doesn't rely on hitting buttons to make exuberant combos....It relies on the classic Street Fighter strategy that must of you kiddos have lost over the last few years.....So get ready!
street fighter is the king. tekken/doa/soul calibur/mugen/king of fighters/virtua fighter.. all shit in comparison. i hope IV for will be good, since thrid strike is fucking amazing.
You can start by looking up tutorials on YouTube as I did. In due time, you'll have the universe of 2D-Fighting at your fingertips. This is a MUST for fans of the genre, so go for it.

this will undoubtedly be an awesome game, but in my opinion, capcom made the best fighting sysem possible on marvel vs capcom 2. A game were there IS no fluke losses to your button mashing eddy gordo's or voldo's. There is no button masher who has your number, it is all skill. wish they would make another marvel vs capcom. Or maybe a capcom vs. konami. snk sucks (almost no badass or interesing characters) and so does all other comic book companies besides marvel.

KOF is shit. That game is so tacky and was originally a rip off of street fighter. People are judging this game based on a few videos of EARLY development. They're probably still fucking with the game speed, it's look, and probably the large amount of characters that will likely be in the game. I'm liking what I'm seeing from Capcom, but I would like to see more Street Fighter Alpha 3 elements in the game and the same amount of characters. Oh, and AKUMA would rape any KOF character, anyday.

how the characters look and give them guilty gear graphic animation. With all these graphics in this trailer the character rooster is gonna be small. They should have done what i stated above and put in a ton of characters for this new game as well as re playability and good gameplay. Giving a game a bunch of graphics doesn't make it good why hasn't any notice that as yet.

I think the past few SF games have been crappy in all honesty.
Fewer characters with a decent move set arrangement is the way forward. Half of the attacks in the previous games have just been rip offs of all the old skool characters.
I still believe that SF 2 is one of the best :)
